I made this channel to inspired dads to skate again and I can still enjoy talking about parts of skateboarding even when i cant skate due to new priorities in my life. I Still love to skate. I feel Nyjah and the Boss Andrew Reynolds are my favorite skaters of all time but I love so many others! Mark Suciu, Shane Oneil, Antwain Dixon, TK, and the amazing Anthony Perkins LOL. You will see some reactions, discussions, skating from yours truly. Come here to get inspired and have a good time

    Skating has become basketball to me over the past few months.
    I can’t stand watching basketball, but I love playing it. I just don’t see the point in watching someone else play.
    Skateboarding has become the same for me now. I’ve seen plenty of cool things but I rather just be skateboarding myself. I find myself stop watching halfway through skate videos.
    Plus maybe because now a days there’s just so much media to watch. It’s not like running to the store and grabbing a VHS. Those days are gone.

    Plan B’s Questionabe; Girls’s Yeah Right, Lakai’s Fully Flared, and Manual Labor are all videos that I would watch multiple times in a row every time I watched them at all. Because back in the day we literally had to wait years for videos to come out, so when they did it was a big deal. Nowadays there are new videos/clips being uploaded every minute.
    I think the main issue is lack of cinematography, like you were saying. The right music with the right part hits you deeper and it’s had to find that nowadays when every other video is either a minute or less and has the same “short” background music or they aren’t taking the time to edit out nonsense.
    Regardless, I watch skateboarding videos almost everyday and I have mad respect for all the people who are putting out content and clips.
    Props on your grind on the C-rail, that was dope.

    short form is killing all content, peoples attention span gone now

    There are parts I go back and rewatch from time to time but with the lowering of attention spans and instant gratification being the name of the game right now I think they aren't as important right now but there will be a time people will want to go back to having full length films. And with how high the bar is moving in skating we'll be in for some epic stuff if that happens.

      I hope your right about the full length film. One company who still does it well in my opinion is primitive. But attention spans are way shorter. As someone who loves watching skating... I only watch a new part once.... maybe twice and then it's gone in the majestic ocean of content.

    Good video, its all of it.. we gotten older so we deal with grownup stuff, the era you gotta think about that too, your right skating is everywhere also... but we older ... in the 90s you had to really look for skating great times 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯🤙

    IG, tik tok, etc. gives theirs influence on what you talking about

    Whats funny is as I'm watching this and watching your clips nothing you did made me go "oh damn this is sick!" which further proves your point. Your clips are amazing but I've been watching so much skating on youtube recently that I've become desensitized to it.

    Skateboarding has become pretty commercial at this point, its not so much about art direction anymore or creativity theme wise, its all about the selling of some type of product, the pros themselves are kinda products when you think about it. Employees, if you will.

    Audio is a bit off from the video. Doesn’t seem synched up with your mouth movements.

    You don’t get the same interaction with the public, the falls aren’t as brutal, less creativity, etc.

  • @SuperDeucen

    One problem I have is just seeing too much skating in general. But also the lack of art direction and creativity that came from skate videos. And people just film too much. There is tons of footage that would be considered throw away footage from a real part. It’s not that the skating ain’t good, it’s just why would I watch someone kickflip front board a seven stair for the millionth time and be impressed.

    • @tonyperksexperience1988
      @tonyperksexperience1988  Před 4 měsíci +1

      I feel the creativity is kinda gone plus the surplus of footage makes it boring. One person who does well is Shane Oneil, he puts very hard tricks out on IG but you will still be surprised when his part comes out cause hes doing tricks you never seen him do

      @@tonyperksexperience1988 its a double edged sword I guess like the gatekeepers of skating have been foiled but now skating is over saturated. There will always be the guys to watch and we will drop everything to watch those parts. But everyone else will struggle to standout, and if they do they have to keep relevant.. good comparison would be like rap music when sound cloud let everyone be a rapper. The bar dropped. It evolves and you start to lose some of the quality. But more people get a seat at the table. We can’t stop it. I always said “I hope everyone skateboards, I just don’t want to watch most of them do it.”

    • @tonyperksexperience1988
      @tonyperksexperience1988  Před 4 měsíci +2

      That ending quote sums it up completely. But your right now everyone can make music but It doesn't mean everyone wants to see it. Also because people like to be surprised too. But when you do all your tricks in a contest to win But then you go to the streets to do the same trick on a legitimate spot, you kinda kill the romance of making a part of tricks no one has seen you do.

    There are lots of good skate parts coming out. Delusional take. Easy instant downvote.

      I dont mean that there are not good skate parts coming out. I just don't see the replay value how I used to watch when I was younger.
