You are 100% right about childhood gut feelings being suppressed/lied to by your parents. In my case I found both abusive relationships with women and literally severe IBD, ultimately having my actual gut removed in emergency surgery. If there is any advice I would ever give to people I would say don't lie to your children, no matter how painful the truth is, because otherwise they can never be themselves.

My gut was always right. In career and in relationship. I took this job even though my gut told me not to but my family pressured me into getting it and now I am even more unhappy than my previous job. You can't control him or change him. Please don't try to modify your behavior in the hope to do so as nothing will work. You aren't his therapist or parent. He is responsible for his own actions. Focus on you and your needs first.

And we make plans to spend the rest of our life together, and we have so much fun together, we have the same humour and support each other positively in our individual lives. What you said about numbing your gut rang true to me, I have mixed feelings, I imagine getting married or spending the rest of my life together some days it feels good others I just cannot imagine it, it just doesn’t sit right in my gut. The worst part is that I am totally utterly gutted and heartbroken for the relationship, the both of us that I feel like this. I don’t know what to do but I do know that i, and my life is suffering because of it. I don’t feel fully in myself and connected to myself since I’ve been in this relationship but I resist putting that down to the relationship because I think I should be able to control myself and how I feel. Im having the same... I’m together with my bf 1 year and sth seems to be wrong but idk. Before we moved in together he told me he had a one night stand before we came officially together. Now I’m always a bit scared sth is up or he will really cheat I really don’t know ... also we fight a lot. I was never a person who had fights but with him it’s crazy... I normally am right about my gut feeling when it comes to my friends relationships and then they always come back and tell me I'm right I just met my friends gf today and I don't like her she is bosses and always wants her way like I said I only met her today and I already seen those and tried to tell him but I'm pretty sure he hates me now I even talked to his dad about it and his dad also understands me and all as well we all can see it but him and they have been together for only 3 weeks

its the FIRST BRAIN... yes.. it existed before the brain in our heads evolved..
its also still very active though its not now the "head" of the show...
we are conscious and unconscious.. both are us..
the conscious part is like 5%.. its always what we false assume is the majority of us..
i assure u.. ur entire being.. most of the day.. and all day long.. ur subconscious is doing more then ur conscious mind... conscious mind for all tense and purpose is a special snowflake and thinks its running the show.. 😂 well it definitely is when it comes to all the bad decisions we make..
ur gut or enteric nervous system.. it just like ur conscious.. also receives information from ur unconscious brain..
and ur gut.. by far.. and i mean by far.. is a much vaster and more powerful processing power then ur conscious mind..
and it relays its "conclusions/decision" back to the brain.. hence why we always first feel a inherent gut instinct.. which we very often hesitate for a second.. which then allows our brain.. to think and or over think.. thus our gut thought gets lost in the rubble of over thinking..

What if your partner's gut feelings cause him to believe things that actually arent true and he is constantly making false accusations? I dont control his gut feelings and I'm not sure what I can change about me in order to help him align more with the truth of who i really am and how I really feel and what I really want. How can I cultivate trust that eliminates his false gut feelings?
You can't control him or change him. Please don't try to modify your behavior in the hope to do so as nothing will work. You aren't his therapist or parent. He is responsible for his own actions. Focus on you and your needs first.
