One thing that I've come to realize 59 years into life is that Mr Right doesn't always come in the package you imagined he would. My husband is incredibly kind, loving, and stable. That man loves me fiercely! But I struggled a little bit in the beginning because he wasn't in the package I thought he would be. I think I'm the luckiest girl in the world, and I can't believe he was out there, available, and ripe for the picking. He is the grand prize.

She was so full of life and lived such a healthy lifestyle, and seemed to have many more good years ahead of her. As I understand she went out to dinner with some friends and then just in the middle of dinner had a major heart attack. She took such good care of herself with exercise, yoga and diet.... I just don't get. Audrey you will be missed by so many... Rest in peace sweet lady. ♥️♥️

She came from a generation that offered her very little autonomy. When my dad passed, I decided I would remind her and support her that she can do and have whatever it was she wanted without feeling the need to ask my dad first. I miss her deeply and always will. Stay loving and stay close to each other. You won't regret it. Great Podcast Dominique!! Thank you!

Like you, I recognized at a young age that honestly my parents needed to go separate ways. They finally realized that. I stayed with my dad. Looking back, I am now 49 - I always knew my dad was amazing but how amazing he really was for taking on the challenge of raising a daughter. In the 37 years with my father we never ever had one cross word. Unfortunately he fell at his house, hitting his head and dying from that fall. My world I felt like ended, the person that was my go to was no longer there. Its been 13 years now since his passing and the pain is still there but I also laugh daily about something he might of said about a situation. I am also the only child. My dad was 1 of 16, yes 16. So I had lots of aunts and uncles but all in another state. So, as a only child I had to figure out life alone - and I was absolutely ok with that. The man I married, 14 years older than me has 3 children. All grown with kids of their own. So, at 35 I bacome a wife, step mom and grandma all on the same day lol. I wouldn't have it any other way. It was a little challenging- mainly because I must have my alone time and down time. Anyway...love the podcast! I could go on all night - just typing this brought back happy memories of my dad:)

I can empathize too. I lost my mother when she was 65, she'd had serious health problems all her life and always knew she wouldn't have a very long lifespan. You were spot-on Dominique about both health and longevity being such incredible blessings. It's so important to be grateful.

So many parents stay together” for their children”, not realizing 2 incompatible parents fighting can make for anxious children. Hindsight is 20/20.
I just realized after hearing Dominique reflecting on childhood that I’m an ambivert? too! Didn’t know that was an option! 👍😃

Hi Dominque, I can relate to this so much. I have a 92 year old Mom who lives on her own in her 1 bedroom apartment. I too am an only child. I talk to her everyday and taker her out to do her shopping and what not. She is sharp as a tack. Loves her iPad! We have always been close and of course I too am now in the role of caretaker and I am happy to do it! We are so lucky to have our Moms with us. Every day is a gift! I am so Blessed. Love your channel!

I am listening to you and your mom and you’re talking about work and of course I am well retired at age 77, but I did get a wonderful part-time job at Costco working in the flower department just selling flowers and making the department look pretty🌸 I get to stay in touch with the world and get to sell to my heart’s content!!

Dominique, Thank you so much for bringing your Mom on again. Watching the interaction between the two of you is fabulous. MOM NEEDS HER OWN PLATFORM! She would definitely have her own audience. She said it herself; she's a rebel. I am so proud of her that she is "Doordashing" (love that), using Uber, and is open to learning new technology. You are both class acts. Love from New Hampshire. ❤❤

None of us knows how long we get to have this life, but what Audrey modeled so beautifully is the importance of enjoying and celebrating the time you do have. She understood the power of taking great care of yourself and your relationships, so that you can maintain quality of life all the way up to the end. What a special spirit! THANKS for sharing her with us, Dominique -xo

I too watched this video again wanting to enjoy the lovely Audrey after learning of her passing. You are so richly blessed to have had such an amazing relationship. You were a wonderful daughter to Audrey, I could see the love and respect you had for each other. It will be painful for a while Dominque especially missing those daily phone calls, but think of all the great memories you have. I loved how you were both patting the dog while doing the video. God Bless you, you've gone through so much, stay strong. You are a delight.

Dominique you are blessed to have your mother at 87. My maternal grandmother passed at 100 and I thought my healthy mom would live a long time too. Unfortunately she did not. We had a great relationship like you and Audrey. Audrey, you are enchanting! Dominique, you and I are a lot alike. I can be extroverted and introverted also. When I was growing up, I liked to watch tv, read and play in my room by myself. I also enjoyed being with friends and family. I HAVE to have my alone time now or I get anxious. Great podcast (video)!❤

So incredible that we have this recording of you guys, I was so impressed when I saw it before, It was the first time I'd met your mom. I had this kind of relationship with my mama, but only after a 30-year rough start. We worked at fixing things between us, and it worked. She was always my best friend, but I became one of hers for the last 25 years. She's been on her next journey for the last 10 years. I miss her, and as soon as I do, she sends a message that only she could send. Audrey. The forever incredible Audrey.

Absolutely loved this episode! My mom and I had that type of relationship AND we talked almost every day of my adult life. She was a sassy, classy lady, a jokester, and just everything. I was a lucky gal to have her until she was 86. I was her only. She had ALZ but she always knew me and her gave always lit up when she saw me. This was a tough Mother's Day....the first without her. Thank you so much for this episode ❤️ 💗 💖
