I doubt the secure enclave chip will ever be hacked, even the hacking community agrees, and that's in the iPhone 5s and later. But, this is an iPhone 4 or maybe 4S, so no issues there, exploits exist for that.
You guys missed the point it’s a “exploit” it’s patched. Brit force is more difficult without the proper Equipment. Agencies have a difficult time unlocking iPhones under warrant sometimes due to the phone being encrypted when you first turn it on. Or someone could easily press the unlock and lock button 5 times and it will lock it leaving cops unable to unlock it with you’re face ID.

Well if that's a 10 years old phone (so very old iOS version) all you need is google and a card to buy the USB device. Someone has already wrote everything you need (exploit, extraction program, USB device software etc)
There's a lot of flaws to this logic, some other have already said some of them. This only works on older phones. The hacker would need PHYSICAL access to the device. And this technique was PROBABLY developed by a "hacker" in the first place and then shared his knowledge so your friendly neighborhood nerd could repair their/others phones. Unless her phone is very old or running a very old version of iOS, you're not going to have much luck I'm afraid. The exploit this short relies on was patched more than half a decade ago. Also, if she locked herself out of her phone then it sounds like it isn't even possible to try entering a passcode at this point, right? Moral of the story: if you can’t crack or hack a device now, fret not, keep it for a few years and there’ll be a way to do it
and what changed since 10 years? nothing. If he could read the phones files, he was able to change amount of entries, then he could just turn off the lock at all. But video would be boring...
I doubt the secure enclave chip will ever be hacked, even the hacking community agrees, and that's in the iPhone 5s and later. But, this is an iPhone 4 or maybe 4S, so no issues there, exploits exist for that.

This exploit is patched for iPhone 6 and above.
You guys missed the point it’s a “exploit” it’s patched. Brit force is more difficult without the proper
Equipment. Agencies have a difficult time unlocking iPhones under warrant sometimes due to the phone being encrypted when you first turn it on. Or someone could easily press the unlock and lock button 5 times and it will lock it leaving cops unable to unlock it with you’re face ID.
You know there is more higher than 10000 possible combinations existing.😂

When you explain it like this, it sounds so simple. Pretty neat stuff.
Well if that's a 10 years old phone (so very old iOS version) all you need is google and a card to buy the USB device. Someone has already wrote everything you need (exploit, extraction program, USB device software etc)

im pretty sure this is a common trait for ppl who hacks iphone other wise they wouldn't really be a hacker would they now?
Black Hat hackers do not do this type of hacking…
There's a lot of flaws to this logic, some other have already said some of them.
This only works on older phones. The hacker would need PHYSICAL access to the device. And this technique was PROBABLY developed by a "hacker" in the first place and then shared his knowledge so your friendly neighborhood nerd could repair their/others phones.
Basically, you've got nothing to fear from a video showcasing an exploit and repair using this method.

Get this mans to top comment I can’t imagine the frustration at not being able to see what’s on a dead relatives phone ❤
Unless her phone is very old or running a very old version of iOS, you're not going to have much luck I'm afraid. The exploit this short relies on was patched more than half a decade ago. Also, if she locked herself out of her phone then it sounds like it isn't even possible to try entering a passcode at this point, right? You should still take it to a data recovery expert though, most of them are happy to give you a free consultation and tell you whether it's possible or not.
What phone is it?

"You deliver butter."
"Oh. My. God."
"9,999 attempts before the phone gets disabled"
"Unlimited passcode attempts"
"This device will try all 10,000 passcode combinations"
He didn't say unlimited because it was 9999
But because it was -9999
The number itself is irrelevant here
The "minus" alone makes it unlimited
So even if just type typed -1
It would be unlimited
Because that value doesn't show how many attempts left
But instead show after how many attempts will the phone get locked
So even if he wrote -1
The number would never reach "-1" ever
It will only increase with each attempt getting further and further away from "-1"
Imagine you are in a game
And your character dies when your HP reaches "0"
But by hacking you have changed your HP to "-1"
Now since it's not "0" you are still alive
And even if enemy shoots you it's only gonna add damage
So from -1 to -100 ~ -1000 etc
Doesn't matter as long as your HP doesn't reach "0"
You won't die
And this game doesn't have healing kit or anything of the short
