I've seen charging blocks with cameras in them, but if you look them over they have a suspicious little dot where the camera is so if you know they exist and do go looking, you can kind of figure it out. But these just look like normal everyday charging cables. You'd never know. We're to the point where we can't trust charging cables. That's pretty scary.

Criminals aren't afraid to even dress up as an employee, and act like their selling offical products, hoping other employees don't notice.
So, while it is unlikely, it definitely sounds like you may have been sold something malicious. Even official reps have been caught selling these kinds of things.
TLDR; if any device is asking for a remote connection, that YOU didn't start, then NEVER accept. Even if you think, "well, maybe it was me", deny it.

Not that easy to utilize, takes a lot of learning to get it right, and make custom scripts to run on it. I know as I have one and used to mess with it. There’s some already made scripts to do basic things out there but a lot of it requires a lot of learning and learning how to script for advanced things. I’m sure if a beginner dedicate enough time too it , it’s not that hard. But for a beginner not recommend, you won’t be hacking people left and right other than basic things. Pre conceived notion that anyone can hack with this.
