    I got mine last week and wow this watch is more stunning in person. Yes it is a chunky watch but not overly so, it suits my 7.5 inch wrist perfectly. I tried the 58 and it looked like a girls watch on my wrist. Much prefer this one. Furthermore, it looks and feels expensive without looking pretentious! Great review.

      Totally agree. I tried the 58 and looks too small on my wrist and that's why I bought the 41 mm. and 8 months later the BB GMT. Really happy with both watches.

    My heritage is arriving tomorrow, to be honest after I’d ordered it I was so confused about what model I actually ordered because I then discovered the 41, bb58 etc, after a bit of research it’s easy enough to understand.

    Nice job from a new subscriber! Couldn’t agree more that thickness and weight complaints aren’t really applicable to a dive watch. I also not only don’t mind substantial heft, I actually like it. BTW, you had mentioned the bezel was ceramic, but I believe it’s aluminum. Keep up the good work. đŸ‘đŸŒ

    I've got the bb s and g in 41mm. It's basically the same watch as this , and the timekeeping is spot on. The s and g costs around ÂŁ4300 new now. I also have a seiko sla043, which costs ÂŁ4100 new, but doesn't come on a bracelet. As you rightly pointed out , seiko charge 4k for a watch , that isn't even regulated. My sla o43, gains about 15 secs a day , possibly more, and that with seikos highly regarded 8l35 movement. But owning both , I still feel the seiko is in a different leaque to the tudor. The case construction and dial is on another level to the black bay. The tudor feels a bit more luxurious because of the gold, but the seiko is damm near perfect, and would be if they regulated the movements. I enjoy both watches immensely though for different reasons. I wish the black bay had drilled lugs like the seiko, as strap changes are so much easier to do. Thanks for the good and honest review.

      Yes. Just picked mine 2 weeks ago in Melbourne for AUD 5200. I likewise prefer it over the 58. I chose the burgundy bezel. Good review. Haven't taken it off its bracelet, "three hands", something I best avoid.

      Doable, but as said I'd advise getting a pincer style strap tool for it, and then one with small ends. Drilled lugs certainly aren't as pretty, but so much more practical.
      Thanks for the comments and glad you like yours too. We'll be back next week with something a little different.

    Need help. I’m deciding between Tudor black bay 41mm or Panerai 1084. I know two diff watches but my fear is Panerai too much bling and will get damaged easily.

    • @onthebench5968
      @onthebench5968  Pƙed rokem +1

      Both great watches. A friend of mine has a panerai and he loves it. A couple of words of caution with them. Firstly, they have a pretty big lug-to-lug width, so if you have thin wrists they can be a bit big. Just check the size against your wrist first. Secondly, Panerai fakes are phenomenonly good. Even panerai have difficulty telling fakes from real. Be very careful you get full provenance if buying used.
      Yes they're bling, but in a good way. The saphore crystal on them is super hard as per others, so difficult to damage, but yes a big case can get knocked about.
      Up to you, they're both great watches. Maybe try to get both on the wrist and then decide.

      @@onthebench5968 hey man thank you for reply! I had pam 312 before but case was over 18mm thick and I found it bothersome sometimes. In any event. I’m 6,3 230 pounds lol the size really isn’t an issue. :) presence of the Panerai to me far outperforms the Tudor any day. It’s just the all polished case and bezel scary me to crap

    Mate, do you live in the states? Noticed you said hood? Also, I went to a store and tried it on. It was about 300 more at the store. Do you think buying off jomashop at a cheaper price would be ok? No papers is the main difference?

    • @onthebench5968
      @onthebench5968  Pƙed rokem

      Hi. Well, not at present but you never know, I'm mooting a move to the states in the future with work, but it's not easy from the UK.
      I personally wouldn't recommend joma for watches myself. They're essentially a big drop shipping site. They don't own the stock, they're re-advertising items being sold by others and act as a middleman. This makes it very difficult to get refund or replacement if your item turns out to be fake which some do.
      With new watches I'd always pay more from an authorised dealer. That doesn't mean you might not get a deal. Don't be afraid to ask for their best price for sale there and then, and then add you'll check a few other retailers. If they know you're serious, they may well put a discount on to secure your custom. Or head to chrono24 and grab a nearly new one for a decent saving.
      Good luck with the hunt.

    My first luxury watch is the BB Bronze, which is slightly larger than this one. I tried on the 58 ( I LOVE the 925....), but they are too small for my wrist. I love the fact that the Bronze is less common, and will patina into a unique timepiece. My grail is still a Sub, but, the EXACT things you mentioned are reality where I live as well. I've been on the "waiting list" for over a year. I have a good friend, who works at my Rolex/Tudor AD (and worked the sale of my BBB...), and even she admits there is no telling when I'll be able to buy one from them. Even though that's my Grail, I don't believe I "settled" at all. I got an amazing watch, with outstanding components, a COSC certification, and less than half the cost of the Sub. Is it quite as good? Of course not. Is it only about 45% as good, as the prices indicate? Handle one, and you should quickly see the gap between them is not even close to that large , and decide for yourself if the crown on the face makes it worth over twice as much. I think it does not, and the BB line is a serious value for money, especially as a first luxury watch, like mine is. Outstanding review, sir. Thanks!
