- Tyler Childers came to the Gladden House Stage on day three of the 2017 Nelsonville Music Festival for a solo acoustic set. He discussed his forthcoming album, Purgatory (Hickman Holler Records/Thirty Tigers) with host Josh Antonuccio, however, because the news of Sturgill Simpson’s involvement in the album hadn’t yet been announced, the two weren’t able to talk about it publicly. Childers’ set was stocked with tracks off the forthcoming album, including “Banded Clovis," the title track, and “Born Again," a track that Childers describes as "a redneck interpretation of reincarnation."
He sings live just as good or better than the recordings. Talent that you won't hear on the radio

What ? He's been on the radio for well over a year now. He sounds better live because when you are making a record you lose that soul of the music through the production process

Yeah he’s basically said in a lot of recent interviews that anytime he was on stage during this time of his life he was stoned and or drunk. I mean he still sounds amazing, but it seems like he’s in a much better place now.

My grandparents were born and raised in West Virginia. I think that's why I love his sound so much. It's like music from my home land. It feels surprisingly nostalgic to listen. Bravo Tyler!
