Am I the only one who feels happy whenever Tom says "Gearseeker Serpent"?
nope
I'm a simple man, I see Tom, I press like.
I'm also a simple man, I see this comment, I press like
I'd love to see more of these drafts in the future
>Automaton
>Automon
Why not call it "Autobot" too while you're at it?
i liked most of the set up for these videos and i understand that there needs to be some editing to cut out dead air, but it'd be nice to leave in the complete turns so it's not so confusing as to what's happening. There was a point where i thought duncan was attacking during tom's attack phase. Also, it'd be nice to see more of the overhead cam, it's the way they usually do the actual tournaments.
But it's such a great thing to even have this in the first place! Just some suggestions to think about!
Yeah, I'd happily watch the entire thing with no cuts
Fluffy Squirrel A minority.
The outcome was kind of expected. Wonder if they will upload Sjin and Lewis' fight for third. Probably not.
Live Magic so much more hassle to edit.
-Like what are the players life totals at any given time?
-Or what's the board state?
-Or what are the cards on hands?
The best card game, but sadly does not really suit yogs tabeltop editing manner. Production value could've been greater, but the target audience is not really there I suppose, so it's all fair. The set is pretty pimping though.
Cheers.
He had deathtouch to perfectly counter his serpents :') I thought it was Duncans game at the start. Then he just kept throwing away his deathtouch advantage ;-; haha
I really loved this series and would love to see you do more of it either live or digitally. Magic the Gathering is so interesting and shits on hearthstone
automon
Use Pepper Breath!
Needs lifepoints tally.
A little card animation wouldn't hurt either.
Also some *EPIC* music
Gandalf The Grey so a waste of editors time?
alright i hope you enjoy the two episodes a week we'd then get.
maybe the top down perspective more often would be nice
I'd love a little life counter in each corner to see how much each player has
Hate to be that guy but the description still says "Tom to face Sjin".
Copy paste my man, the best way to make a description
This game went by much quicker than the Sjin Lewis duel. Amusing.
This could really use a little background music.
They should use Tom's Cities Skylines music
A few simple mistakes here and there (forgetting about energy counters, order of the phases, i.e. Untap to Upkeep to Draw, and Tom making me feel like an old man for knowing about mana burn (which is no longer a thing.
Ohhh.. so it's WotC who are doing the weird janky cuts?.. that makes more sense.. but very stupid of them yeah. We watch the yogscast for.. the yogscast..
The amount of misplays Duncan made haha
Curious why he didn't block the gear seeker serpent with his Deathtouch creature. Tom hadn't paid the mana cost to make it unblockable that turn and he could have killed off a rather major threat for very little cost.
flying...
no it's not
He'd already attacked with his deathtouch creatures on his turn, so they were tapped and unavailable for blocking.
Love the magic games! Really want to see Lewis against Sjin!
2:09 Thats not a thing anymore, old timer!
Gabberag The Aether Theorist isn't a thing? What?
Sagittarius he's talking about the mana burn a few seconds earlier than that
Duncan's Misplay: He could have used his "destroy target artifact or creature" on the serpent, thereby removing any crew for the caravan and preventing 17 damage from being done to him.
Peter Senior no, appetite for the unnatural cannot target creatures.
bring back lewis in the park with the megaphone that first 4 seconds is literally the best part of the paid promotion videos
love these videos, can't wait for the next one
That Dramatic Reversal was truly...dramatic.
Whooooh! More Magic!
please do more of these magic the gather tournaments
awesome game I was hooked the whole time. I really want to see more of this. keep up the good work!
Duncan screwed up so hard he had this in the bag if he was better.
"Do you want to kill my turtle?"
Tom and his giant snake FTW
Ummmm guys
Toms turn 11:54 he taps six mana (all his mana) and plays the second gearseeker serpent for its reduced cost of 6
Tom then attacks Duncan with the original gearseeker serpent (a 5/6)
This is where the problem starts
Duncan blocks with the automaton (a 6/8) and Tom with no cards should lose his gearseeker
But he dosen't.
Duncan accidentally said he'd "attack' it instead of block, thats where Tom blocks a blocker with Aether Theorist
Then Duncan says 'that is me' theres a jump cut and Toms turn starts again with him tapping 6 mana (all his mana) to make a gearseeker unblockable
wtf was all that Tom had 2 turns and pulled some weird blocking a blocker shit
Tom having two turns with a jump cut is understandable they might have just cut out Duncans turn but that blocking fiasco seems sketch
monopoly rule - if you don't catch it, it's legal. You just gotta trust whoever you're playing with not to make any deliberately bullshit moves.
Tom forgets to draw after Duncan ends his turn at 3:09
Reeeeee
Finally more Magic
Love this!
8:10 - well played, Tom.
9:00 pretty sure the blocker decides which dies. since there's a block order?
Does Duncan say "automaton" weird, or do I say it weird? (as an American version maybe?)
Well he doesn't even say automaton, he says autoMON :p
Why the strange cut at 12.20?
I know this was two years ago but WHAT THE FUCKS AN AUTOMON DUNCAN
mana burn hasnt been a rule for a long while now
Why does it say that this video features sjin
Are Lands not permanents?
They do know mana burn rule was removed in 2010
Guypersonman I don't think they do
It was clearly a joke.
Omg DUNCAN wasn't salty this game. Respek
Did duncan forget to draw multiple turns in a row?
tom got a nice deck the gearseeker serpent going to be tough to beat, lets see how he gets on with Lewis
What I learnt in this video: Duncan can't pronounce the word Automaton.
Gearseaker Serpent FTW boiz.
Duncan's thriving Ibex is not a 3/5, why does he think it is a 3/5 that can be buffed to 4/6?
Thriving Ibex is a 2/4 and can gain a +1/+1 when it attacks if the user spends 2 energy counters. Duncan used this ability once to make it a 3/5. During the turn you’re referring to, Duncan advised that while he has enough energy counters to do it again, the ability must be used when it was nominated and before the blocking step. I’m not sure if that’s correct but that’s what he said.
Who would have guess.
I dunc had played that hunger for the unnatural (or whatever it is called) and destroyed the caravan before blocks he probably would've survived it even won :(
please play more magic. i would love to see simon and kim play aswell. entertainment
I never got the if you block with more then 1 creature only 1 of the creatures get hurt, like a 10/10 attacks and you block with 10 1/1s, it's like the 10/10 hitting a 1/1 and going ok I'll just stand here doing nothing as the other 1/1s hit me
kinda figured it come down to tom and lewis....
What do you mean? Lewis already lost to duncan
Balthor didn't even watch their there match til little bit ago...
Jerry Cha I think there'll be a match between them anyways, but I'm not sure if it will be the finals.
i thought mana burn was removed in 2014 XD
Tom FTW it seems
Tom cheating out a Gearseeker for zero mana for the win.
Heyyy
'mana burn'
Wow they play with some old rules.
he was joking
Not sure if he was, M:tG is somewhat like remembering how to ride a bike.
You'll remember all the basics, and if you ever got hurt by messing up, that will probably stick with you for life.
(Also, wasn't mana burn addressed by just removing it from the rules? (I ask as I have no idea.) I only heard about the change from a friend. Otherwise, after a read of the basic rule book, I would have assumed it was still a thing, and too much of a 'specialist' rule to be mentioned in the short version of the rules. >.> )
An the veteran wins
Tom has gotten super lucky as his whole strategy rides on drawing one type of card, of which he has only two. I'm not saying he can't win without them, but it would be more or a hassle.
so many views
What happened I got so bored I fell asleep.
HA lol autmon XD
First tho
