Thanks for sharing the facts about the concept of the Nose plugs n tattoos of the Apatani women. Since my childhood I have been hearing the same thing that it was to make them ugly to thwart men from other tribes n not get kidnapped n get forcefully married. Thanks for clearing this myth . By the way I find that most of the Apatani women are so beautiful!!

Tattooing is a part and an aspect of our culture of grooming oneself.
If you know that T shaped baboo, an epitome of Myoko festival is female which is brought in every Myoko Festival.
It is our tradition that who ever has son should install a baboo for each son which is mandatory.
I heard that they install that for their sons might find a good wife.
There is a chance, may be male T shape Tattoo is that same baboo. They might have tattooed themself in T shape with same concept that they might find a good, fertile and resourceful wife.
This narrative is my inference which is yet to be verified.🙏
