You have to buy the magazines from cmmg if you want to run a standard AR15 lower. They look like 556 pmag magazines, still hold 30, cost about $40 and they also sell just the guts for pmags if you want to save a little bit of cash. Otherwise you have to buy one of their banshee lowers to go onto these banshee uppers in whatever flavor of pistol magazine pattern you want. They're like $400 for the lower though.
With how this upper is designed, you have to buy a cmmg banshee pattern lower for this to function properly. It's proprietary and has to have both the upper and lower from CMMG.
If the lower has a built in ejector then no. It takes a standard AR15 lower with CMMGs magpul AR mag internals or CMMGs Banshee lower unfortunately. If you buy into this it's either buying the magazines for a mil spec lower ($60 a piece) or a proprietary CMMG lower ($400+)
Really appreciate your breakdown of all this. Especially the disassembly and talking about the differences vs a standard PCC blowback system
That’s a slick upper. I’ve had my eyes on these uppers for a while. Great video review.
I just grabbed one from cmmg. They're running a 10% off memorial day sale on complete uppers. I also stacked my first purchase 10% discount.
How is the accuracy at 25 & 50 yards? Have you taken it farther?
How has the accuracy been so far and at what distances?
What is needed beside this uper to convers my ar15 to 9mm ? What about Mags ?
