Glock 48 MOS: My experiences and build breakdown
zhlédnutí 7KPřed 4 měsíci
My experiences with carrying and shooting a Glock 48 MOS and things I've learned along the way. I switched from an Sig Sauer P365XL to a Glock 48 and why I switched carry guns. I have some complaints about the Glock 48 and some parts (Shield Arms gen 3 magazines) I've had issues with. I'll also go over some extras like holsters which I'm pleasantly surprised by. As always thanks for watching ev...

Im new to the carbon lock debate. Wouldn't carbon lock become a problem due to not cleaning the firearm right after a range trip? I have the old design but havent gotten around to shooting it, yet.
It's not even after every range trip. If you clean it every 500 rounds or so it's fine. I shot 650 out of mine in a weekend and it didn't carbon lock which is why I'm wondering who said it was an issue? People who never clean their pistols? I know a few but they know what they're getting into by neglecting their firearms. I've throughly tested this with 5 of my own personal Ramjets and I'm in a circle of people who shoot a lot and 11 of them all have Ramjets. Not one has experienced carbon lock. One says he shot 2,000 rounds before cleaning it. He does maintain it. Cleans the comp, threads and greases the area where comp and barrel interface. No issues.
@@2amichaelj I had carbon lock after my first 300 rounds through it. It took a bit to get it off when I went to clean it. It was not a big deal but I can see why they changed it. Personally I think its not an issue gen1 vs gen2. Gen 2 in my opinion is probably better.
Thx
Beautiful firearms
Man, get rid of the cat, it’s very distracting. Other than that, great video sir.
Is that a G17 trigger bar? I know internal dimensions are the same. I don’t like the ridged trigger either. I’ve changed out all my 19’s to the 17 trigger bar. Neat build sir.
@@maxmccain8950 they should be the same trigger bar. OEM is the ridged bars. Companies like Overwatch Precision makes their own gen 5 trigger bars from gen 4s that are not ridged but the single hump ones. What I find interesting is I can take an OEM trigger assembly from one Glock and put it in another and it'll feel completely different. Same with connectors. A connector will feel completely different in a different Glock, same model and generation. I honestly don't remember which trigger bar this came out of as I've swapped parts in a few builds to tune each pistol to my liking. It is a ridged bar but extremely polished. If you have the ability to play around with a few parts I would try and test to see what works best for you. Triggers are pretty objective to the individual. I wouldn't really mess around with firing pin springs unless it's going into a fun only build but installing a lower powered firing pin spring will lighten the trigger quite a bit but may cause light primer strikes.
What a dope. I seem to remember a video he did explaining how he got “unfairly” fired from the Post Office. He strikes me as the kind of guy who constantly shoots himself in the foot and then complains that he’s bleeding.
I have a g17 gen 3 and a g26 gen 5 im waiting on my g48 and in the process of procuring a g19 gen 5 all of these guns have different purposes and I recommend them all
How are T-marks meant to be used? Like how do they help hold zero with a sight?
@@jofosho2762 it's to help if you take off the optic and put it back on, to ensure you put it in the exact same place. If it's a good optic mount, there shouldn't be a noticeable shift in zero. The reason you would take off your optic is to utilize different optics on the same rifle. It's not a huge deal but it is an added feature.
@@2amichaelj Thanks so much! That's what I was thinking, but wanted confirmation; really appreciate it
KITTY!
Where did you get the extended baseplate? tia
It's from Shield Arms. It's one of the best magazine extensions I've used out of the 19 different brands and types I've used for Glocks. They were just running a blem sale recently and they were $20 a piece with the extra power spring. I'd wait for those types of sales, not that they aren't worth it but $40 is the MSRP and if I can save $20 I'll save $20 and just be patient for the right time to buy.
I found a "1gen" it cost me $425 but I like it so much better I just might buy his last two.
Why is everyone angry about you using anti walks? Lmao
Because he didn't read the installation instructions that mitigate that exact "issue" before posting a review that was critical of the product in that regard.
3 months later...did you shoot the gun? or we just here making marketing videos for companies that don't sponsor us?
@palehorse7377 is still selling Auto Key Cards for $200.
Lmao at radian basically saying “you’re an idiot it doesn’t need to be timed” The entire time I listened to you say it needed to be timed I was begging you to realize that when the pin goes in and is tightened it would time itself. You have to “time” it in the same way you have to not install it backwards lol
@@RenoMay I'll take some smoke from you. One of my points is tolerances open up as you take on and off the comp. The tear drop design will keep the comp centered when that happens. The first generation is a better design. I'm gonna die on that hill. Thanks for visiting and commenting on my little channel though. California is still a hellscape.
Right on.
Perfect Glock 19 set up IMO. Might consider upgrading to the Glock performance trigger!
The word you were looking for was “inferior” 🫡
I recommend night fison when getting backup sights they make such a easy site to get the right hight so you dont have to run huge sights 1/3 is only way to go i hate full co witness .
Those optics mounts are one of the best mounts you can actually buy in reality.. those other mounts you mentioned are just the same none or any better or any worse.
Yeah there's really nothing wrong with the o lights it's just trendy to try and say they're trash.. people that don't know any better say it because they want to look like they know what they're talking about because they heard somebody else say that to be cool.. So people really only buy different lights because they want to look good
cute cat!!
We definitely need a detailed collection video.
I would love to have mine look like that please reach out to me
For every person who hates xyz company there is someone else who loves it and never had an issue. It is what it is.
What magwell is that
Overwatch Precision Have Blue magwell.
He broke no laws.
Do you still prefer this over the glock 19?
Damn who gets a shadow systems gun without an optics cut?
So sick 😫 id love to get that but think im just gonna get the radian afterburner. I love the reviews man gun stuff is great to watch im addicted to gun content
@@charles17508 I personally think the ramjet/afterburner is a better, more versatile choice. Out of all the comped options I've tried, it reduces the most recoil for me. Although I have to think it's partially because you have a chuck of steel sticking out on the end of your muzzle, opposed to aluminum comps or nothing with ports. On top of the performance, you're able to use more parts and swap back to OEM with basically a barrel change. Threaded barrel comps suffer from all the same issues. Timing, set screws and some barrels and comps not playing well together sometimes. Maintenance is really nice and easy with the ramjet too opposed to others I've tried. And I'm OCD with cleaning and maintenance on my firearms. Aftermarket slides can sometimes be finicky but I really like this Arc Division one. They did quality work. The shorter profile slide does make a difference when carrying and it's been really reliable while adding some reduction in recoil. I appreciate the view and comment. Keep on educating yourself on this stuff, especially if you're making a large purchase. I personally like watching independent, non sponsored content to get the least biased opinions where sponsored content has skin in the game. Those creators wouldn't want to piss off those giving them money, ammo or free products now. Just some food for thought.
@2amichaelj freaking got that right man .
He is a complete idiot
I tried the shield mags. There trash in my opinion. I had feeding problems. Now I strickly stay with stock factory mags.
Just happened upon this video and love it how quickly this guy just got dookied on by Radian lol.. "They changed it so they could save money.." Turns out they changed it because real shooter feedback said the original design was giving them problems so they fixed it and made it just as effective.
@@MantraDNG just remember companies like Olight claim the same things. They make changes not because of cost cutting measures or because they have actual issues with products but because of "real" customer feedback. I'm not saying Radian is lying but be aware that's marketing terminology.
@@MantraDNG and are you saying my feedback is any less? How many Ramjets have you purchased and how many rounds do you have out of them? I currently own 5. Two gen 1s and three gen 2s with about 15,000 round through them. My personal experience is that the whole carbon locking thing isn't any different between the two. I have noticed drifting in my taper pin however.
@2amichaelj Triggered more than those pistols you got.. relax buddy just pointing out assuming sure made an ass put of you. Enjoy your Gen 1s!
Now, in 2024- Free CRS! Free Justin and Matt!
I just did my first lower build and I’m just watching a ton of videos trying to get experience, what was the reason for not flipping the front take down pin into the detent groove right away? Because I did and now I’m wondering if imma have problems
Thank you so much for giving us a close look and explaining everything. So this could be pinned on standard AR15 lower with CMMG 9mm modified magazines without any special buffer, spring or trigger?
@@ns8548 yes. That would be the cheapest route if you're not trying to stock magazines as the magazines are like $40-$50 a piece. This is how I've been running it, on a mil spec lower with the CMMG AR15 9mm magazines. The radial delayed blowback is nice because you can run a standard 3oz buffer and not those 9oz 9mm ones. It's the softest shooting PCC I've shot in the AR platform.
Lol i just DM'ed them on instagram and got a response in like 10 minutes. people tend to be on their phones more than on the computer nowadays and replies are typically faster than you'd think
At the price they ask I'd be upset I'd want gen 1 for sure after seeing this
How much for the whole piece all together
Smh
Awesome, thorough video that points out the more important features like bolt group and charging handle manufacturing. Great job and thanks!
I have the shadow systems xr920 elite and was gonna get the radian ramjet afterburner but went with their compensator instead. Looks great shiots great and saved me 400
