    Also, I wanted to mention that since the Legion Pro 7i had 16 vs 32 GB of ram in the Legion 9i--I am planning on a follow Legion Pro 7i retest with a 32 GB DDR5-5600 kit from SK Hynix. I hope to do that livestream Monday, if all goes well. The theory is that the increased capacity 32 GB of RAM provides a performance boost in all games, not just the ones that need 32 GB. We will see! I look forward to seeing what's actually true!

      I’m actually building a legion pro 7i on their website right now and came across the 9i, the price difference is massive lol. My question come down to the rgb implementation, do they both have that rgb under glow? On their website the pictures of the 7i do not show the rgb strips lit up but the pictures of the 9i have those strips lighting up. Both of yours have the rgb bar under glow, so is that just their website being annoying?

      I just purchased the 7i last week. I was inquiring about the 9i to the lenovo rep during negotiations and he recommended that I steer clear of the 9i as its the first in the generation which almost always comes with hiccups. An extra $1000 for mini-led, negligible upgrade to cpu and cosmetically more RGB lights is not worth it imo@@doubleshot9448

      The 7i just has the RGB on the front and keyboard. The 9i has RGB on front and wraps around the corners and in the back. Also, the port icons on top of the rear light up, but on 7i they don't. The 7i also supports the 140W adapter through the USB C port in the back of the unit.

It says the laptop can take up to 140w type c charge but their 140w charger shows support for the 9 and waaaay less premium laptops but not the legion 7 or 5 even though they both advertise 140w type c PD. Am I just getting bad info from their website?

      @GizmoSlipTech  Před 9 měsíci

      Both have front glow. 9i wraps around side, and has rear strip and rear light up logo.
      I believe both laptops can utilize the 140W usb-c. The 9 comes with it though.

    • @doubleshot9448
      @doubleshot9448 Před 9 měsíci

      @@GizmoSlipTech thanks for the response, oh that is Interesting that the 9 comes with that 140w type c because at the moment their website says “sold out” “coming soon”, and they do advertise it on all the models. From what I saw the amd variant won’t come with a thunderbolt 4 port, unless that was a different video from months ago. I find that strange that they would take that away from the AMD variant, if that is the case. I’m interested in them for multiple reasons but one of them is that type c portability factor, that only they seem to advertise. I know others can do it, but only up to 100w in most cases. Man I build desktops but laptops are like an entire other world, I’ve been shopping for months, bought one in June, already selling it and looking for something that can be a real desktop replacement, and for me that has to be a minimum of a 4080 due to my other laptops power, and my desktop, the 4080 seems to be the sweet spot I’m looking for, and Lenovo seems to be a pretty premium product these days. I’m returning the m16 with a 4070 cuz my 3070ti laptop performs too similar, it’s honestly bottlenecked by ram or the cpu (6800H) it’s throttles too much. The Alienware does not but we are talking a nitro 5 cooling system versus Alienware and vapor chambers lol. Go figure the nitro 5 has less problems software wise tho.

Cheaper models just say 330w AC power adapter, and you can buy a smaller one from them.

    Hello guys! May you Please spare some time reading my thoughts on this probably unhinged comment on the legion 9i and the 2023 legion lineup in general! Thank you 😊
    As a legion fan, I’m really disappointed on this year’s premium lineup . Last year’s legion 7i gen 7 was the perfect laptop from functionality and ease of upgradability to the bells and whistles is what made the laptop to be the legion in the first place. They could have just stick with it BUT NOO!! “Let’s introduce a new series so as to match the intel CPU’s numbers”they thought,”Let’s butcher the features on the 7i” they said, “let’s add a water cooler that is adds nothing on our already very intelligent very thoughtful and very very functioning vapor chamber” they decided.”let’s make few comprise such as inverted motherboard, keyboard shifted lower leading to stretched trackpad and worse ergonomics so as to isolate the bellybutton I mean power button 😅 and having more holes that can make you more worry about dust and debris and display not tilt up to 180 degrees” they suggested. Oh whats that? The chassis and display get warmer to the touch than the legion 7i? well you know what they say! Carbon fiber on top cover is now the new black and RGB legion logo go burrrrr! All in the price of $1000/= dollars more than the legion 7i.
    Honestly It feels like Lenovo made the laptop and thought “what if we made it the ROG way and we butcher the lineup like the DELL way 😂”
    But I’ll give the legion team the benefit of the doubt since it’s their very FIRST 9i lineup, they had to struggle on what to compromise or not as a premium or none premium feature.
    This comment is a perspective on the difference between legion lineups of 2022 and 2023, NOT difference between legion and other gaming laptop cause if it was then I would said something very differently on this laptop, actually I would probably end up praising it since legion are always solid and wholesome in general
    That is my thought,
    Again I say!(or write) Thank you! for spending your time reading this ranting comment. Have a OK day!

    I don't understand why they just didn't reuse the chassis from 7i 2022. It was literally perfect, whole thing metal, a lot of RGB, glass touchpad, it was built like a tank. Just slam a miniLED screen on it and 4090 and it would be the best gaming laptop but lenovo instead cut down the 7i so much it hurts, plastic interior and touchpad while the "premium" 9i is so expensive I can buy a decent car for that money. Macbook Pro is literally one of the cheapest laptops with a miniLED screen currently. Obviously you can't game on it but it has better speakers, screen, touchpad, battery life and build quality than any of these 4000$+ laptops.

      The slow response rate on mac's and lack of Nvidia GPUs/Windows 10 really turn me off to the Macbook lineup. If they made a windows version of the Macbook lineup, honestly, it would slice a big chunk right out of the PC laptops alone, and some gamers too, if a fast refresh rate screen was attached with good response rate.

      What we needed was.
      Legion 7i Pro in the 2022 chassis (with new vents so they fit the lineup). And a legion 9 with a more advanced air-cooled setup (imagen vapor champer with the thick heatpipes). That way we still get a more expensive product but not so ludicrously expensive because of the R&D cost of that "watercooler".

      Well if that would have been the case no one would have bought the legion 9 or only enthusiasts will have
      Now anyone who need a premium laptop material or metal need to shell out more money

    Seems like you're better off finding you a 4080 laptop with good ram speeds and at least 32gigs.

    9i def better. I think a lot of people are projecting their insecurities about their 7i purchase.

      Not to mention what the 9i is right now was what legion 7 was before they decided to cut down on legion 7 to boost sales for 9
      Just check the reviews of the 2021 and 2022 legion 7 and you will know
