I remember Polis Massa. PTSD from those hallways, flanking in tanks, going outside as the CIS because breathing is for meatbags, and so many grenades... most of which were mine...
But it's great to learn about this asteroid and the beings they call home.
Was actually one of my favorite BF2 maps because of the choke points, if you can survive long enough it's easy to kill enough dudes to advance
By the time of the raid on Polis Massa, the men of the 501st were starting to get a little sick of this so called "rebellion"...
“Stand your ground men. Work together clones we’re still in this. Remember your training and fight” -Commander Cody. It’s hard to win as the Republic and Empire on Poliss Massa.
Was always annoying how the clones couldnt breathe outside but the droids could
@@thesenate1844 At least rebels cannot breathe there, so in Imperial era it's more even
So that's why the medical droid looks like that!
I thought that too
“I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is it’s time to get off this dreary rock. The bad news is the Rebels have taken over the hangar. We’ll have to fight our way out.” - General Veers
To Rebels now turned New Republic soldiers, and some droid brains suspected of being formerly from Separatist battle droids, doing sims on this facility is a combatant's dream.
To clones and Imperials, however, it's a bloody cramped nightmare, especially to the former who can't fight on the space exposed sector without assistance from Saber tanks.
I’ll always remember how broken it was that the droids didn’t take damage from being in space in bf2. Had many battles start by going out there and taking the deepest base for the clones
That might have been on purpose, so humans can't survive in space but droids can.
Yoda whipping out his lightsaber and wrecking shop
Ya this level in the original Star Wars battlefront 2 game was a guilty pleasure of mine I remember setting the players to max numbers then battling it out in the middle for an hour getting nowhere so much fun!!!
it is wild to think the most chaotic and bloody area of battlefront 2 (a game where you reenact battles of a galactic war) is that little area where padme gave birth lol
Hallways of the Tantive IV and the cell block on the death star are close seconds in my mind
I think it's really interesting and ironic that it was Anakin Skywalkers old unit that attacked this place after it became a rebel base.
0:20 Ah yes, the famous Polis Massa, where Ki Adi Mundi was turned into Swiss cheese. Easily mistaken for Mygeeto, where Anakin gave birth to Luke Organa and Leia Skywalker.
“I haven’t seen one of these since I was prospecting on Subterrel, beyond the Outer Rim” - Dexter Jetster
That is a neat story. It however seems like with faster than light travel they just needed to send a hyperspace probe with a large telescope 100k light years away and see what was there. Maybe not detail but certainly if a planet was intact.
Oh right since the further away something is
When the light reaches you, you only see the paste
Like how some stars millions or billions of light years away are most likely dead and we are seeing only their past image
Tho I doubt star wars has that same logic as real life
As space time relativity seamed to not exist
As you can get to near light speed (not hyperspace as that is just another dimension)
And not have time fast coward around you
Actually, you would only see 100k years in the past. Which is a lot for us, but for geological time is just a brief moment. The so called Polis Massa Cataclysm might have happened hundreds of millions of yeas ago
@@Bluepizza1684The destruction of Hosnian Prime was visible all over the galaxy at once. I don't think light works the same way in the Star Wars universe
Space itself is expanding, distorting the light.
Its 2 am thanks for my bedtime star wars content

"By the time of the raid on Polis Massa, the men of the 501st were starting to get a little sick of this so called 'Rebellion'. In the past, we'd secretly enjoyed putting down a local insurrection or two. They kept the troops sharp and the Empire feared, but these Rebels were different. They were organized, they were growing, and they were everywhere. The raid on Polis Massa was a perfect example of how things were starting to fall apart. We were supposed to go in, wipe out a small band of Rebels, and recover some stolen Imperial plans on an encrypted holodisk. Before we knew it, we were nearly overrun by Rebel forces, with the holodisk nowhere to be found."
"Even though the Polis Massa raid was only a partial success, we finally had a lead on the whereabouts of the Death Star plans, which suited the 501st just fine."
They are a really interesting species l like them

I think it would be cool to revisit this location in Star Wars someday
Droids had the great advantage of not dying when outside of the base, it was fun using a technician droid to slice into a republic held vehicle, get in and just wait for the clones to die outside... Perhaps a bit grim though...
That's why you had to be quick and capture the CP at the other end. So many corridors made that map a nightmare.
Good old fashioned, Real Star Wars (Legends) content. I missed this. I can't watch anything Disney related anymore.
You fergot to mention that they're super adorable.
I've been so disillusioned with Disney's Star Wars ever since they killed Luke with the equivalent of a Force Skype call...
I loved this level in BF2! There were so many opportunities for flanking, and it was always a guess at whether the resistance you faced would be stiff or not.
Please. Continue with these planet explorations. It's too bad we don't know far m9re about the fauna and flora of those planets.
Great lore video.
I have that British imperial narrator voice from when you selected the world in the galactic conquest mode.
“Polis nassa”
It’s always the last place you’d look where crazy stuff starts.
0:15 giving me some serious ptsd XD
0:15-0:21: Are we sure we're not talking about Bespin: Platforms level from Battlefront 1? Because that happened there a lot too. Definitely my favorite maps from the original Battlefront 1. And also one of the only ones where you can kill Dooku, Windu, Vader, and Luke.
9:45-9:48: Oh yeah this level was definitely fun, especially getting to take a vehicle or Droid outside to attack the other team's hanger from behind.
At 0:20 you see Mygeeto right? I think they just had some placeholder artwork there since noone likes to play the Polis Massa map 😂
Man I love the star wars
Just a bunch of creepy curious guys
Mathematics suggests that a Jedi general or Padawan was using the bathroom when order 66 was issued
With the way the map spawn system worked, the map is rigged in favor of whoever spawns from the right side of the map. Because at the CP near the center, you got spawned further ahead in the bay.
I'm glad such curious little friends were left in relative peace.
Ah the BF2 memories
Does anyone know where Padme came up with the names for her children? Was Luke and Leia also the names of her parents? That's something I have always wanted to know.
She read the script
Nice episode.
I like this video and the species ^^
geetsly upload let’s goooo
Will Kallidahins mind if some true believers of the Separatists came to take refuge at their sector and unofficially secede it from the Republic? I doubted they will even care as long as these newcomers contributed enough to their society.
Do you have any information on Quarzite and its inhabitants? It’s such a cool planet but we are told little about it.
I remember dying in slave as a dark trooper blasting off. Oopsies hehe
So, the Kallidahins were the folks who made the whale probe from Star Trek IV
I’m sorry, can we talk about them being “cetaceans”? Wanna expand on that??
Not like there’s any where else to go on that map. I guess you can sneak around in a vehicle but where’s the fun in that?
The Senate is still MORE prominent.
Fascinating, too bad Polis Massa is only considered a footnote to most. Ironic, since the small events there ended up shaping galactic history.
0:20 thats Mygeeto not Polis Massa 😂
I think the image was just to reference Battlefront 2
👍
Sooo, anyone else wondering how the Kallidahins eat?
My god this level in battlefront 2 was such a choke fest. God help u if friendly fire was on
