Humility and the fear of God is what keeps me grounded. God gave me every gift I have and he can take it away if I’m not stewarding them according to his order and will. With that said, I’ve noticed there is no competition, comparison, or critique of wives and husbands who are humble, fruitful, and fear God in their hearts, but instead see the value in their differences. The wife has no problem submitting to her husband respecting him unconditionally and the husband, no matter her position or title outside the home is not threatened, and loves her unconditionally. The fruit they produce multiplies and passes to their children.

This was truly insightful. Definitely had to check introspectively as I do sometimes feel better than others because of my gifts. So good! I think Preston made a good point and he set a great example. I feel like too many men use their authority to look down on their partners and then women use their gifts (leadership) to walk over theirs. Thank you for this very humbling reminder that our gifts should be used to glorify Jesus!❤

    • @christabela.b9256
      @christabela.b9256 Před rokem +25

Yeah, the propensity for people to use their gifts or authority to walk over their spouse is why men are asked to love their wives like Jesus loves us and women to submit like the church. It addresses each sex's flaws. But unfortunately people take it out of context and rather use that to oppress eachother.

      Read Deborah's account!

Note what Yah says about Judges!
Ask yourself who is "the man" in scripture?
It's in the same chapter spoken of regarding authority. Search out scripture to show thyself approved.
Church is an assembly, the body of Christ. So, with this understanding that woman are not to have leadership role what does one say to the CHURCH, Christ's Bride? Are we as believers not to speak because we are identified as a woman?

I am so so sold out. I love this whole mini series that you guys did on leadership. You guys definitely hit a home run with this one especially with women and they're submissiveness versus manipulation because as women especially those with Daddy issues we learn to become manipulators rather than be submissive because we really can't distinguish the difference
And at the root of a lot of the submissiveness is manipulation and at the nucleus of manipulation is fear. In fact there's a saying that says a good woman knows how to lead her husband and make him believe that it's his idea or something along the lines of that.
I watched one or two 30 minutes with the Perry's a while ago and I watched how you Jackie corrected your husband every time he made a grammatical error. I even commented on it and said don't do that and the reason I said don't do that is because it undermined him. whether you're doing it lovingly or not when you do it in public it demeans the person and it lets the audience know who the superior one is. Trust me you never want to do that because you don't want him to lose his credibility. Am I in an industry which is client facing there are times when I have to stand up and give instructions. Often I may make a mistake but my peers will not correct me. When it's over we'll discuss and I'll even say I made a mistake but they'll say don't worry about it keep going because a lot of times the audience won't pick up on it. Now we do want to look like we're not intelligent but you don't want to correct your counterpart in front of an audience. This is something I learned in adult learning theory and public speaking.I shared it jic. One last thing it also makes you look competitive when you do that.
However, nobody brings the message better than you do Jackie!!!
and Preston I love your whole concept on male leadership and how to lead without dominating. I also love your honesty.
This was like so refreshing it just solidified so much of my thinking. I feel it upgraded me it took me to a level of understanding submissiveness and that whole seven habits forming, storming, norming, and performing.
I am sold out. Of the late Jackie when I want spiritual food I have been stalking all of your CZcams messages I mean I just I can't get enough of them so thank you for allowing God to use you in such a way!

In our leadership roles, as wives....we Glorify The Most High/ when our honor and respect of our husband is still intact......in whatever ways The Most High has gifted.
For the men....If your identity is solid through the Creator....there would be no need to stifle your wife's light.....cause She is you....and the jewel in your crown.

    Panic attacks all day.
When and how will I ever heal?
This happened to me in February,
    and now we're in June...

and left me alone to die.

    Discarded me.

    Gave me sever PTSD.
    So...
I release all chords, hooks, ties, and attachments
to him specifically, and also generally:
to any person, place, or thing,
    on any time continuum,
that is no longer for my highest and best good, and healing...
I release all of these things now, and forevermore,
and I watch them dissolve into the nothingness, from which they came...
Thank you, thank you, thank you
    - IT IS DONE! 🙏
And here are 13 gentle and urgent reminders:
    1. You're ALWAYS exactly where you are supposed to be
    2. Self-esteem is measured by you (nobody else gets to decide your worth)
    3. Get rid of fear: FOREVER!!!
    4. When things are tough, change the way you see things...
    5. Don't dwell on/in the past (come back to this present moment!)
    6. It's only temporary (all of it!)
    7. You have what it takes
    8. You don't need to change
    9. Release your need for control
    10. Accept. Allow. Breathe. Deep.
    11. Remember where you came from
    12. Remember that you are not alone (not ever!)
    13. Remember who you are
GOD has a purpose for your pain,
    A reason for your struggle,

I think the key thing is how he said Jackie never changed her dynamic to Preston because of her gifts and calling in her marriage.
I think that’s a big key point to also allowing Husbands not to be intimated by a wife who’s a leader because of her gift/calling.
In my marriage, I take care a lot of the things from both mine and my husbands career and it wasn’t by choice. It’s just what it is, he has talents and I know I am here to help with that, but in all truthfulness I have out of frustration or stress have done things to mention the importance of the things that I do verses what He does.. it’s wrong. I shouldn’t allow those things to dictate who I am in my marriage.. as a wife.
That part was very helpful to me and I need to back track on my own attitude when it comes to my roles and calling.

It’s easy for me to get caught with comparisons, ESPECIALLY in the kingdom. It all comes from God though, so who am I to measure myself up to others? Great topic. This type of thing has actually ended good Christian marriages….jealousy between spouses and their giftings. That is why it is important to know who you are in Christ and be a supportive mate to whichever mate appears to be prospering in their ministry. I like the dynamic that Joyce and Dave Meyer have. He is man enough to help her in a supportive role because that is what God called him to do. But if God called her to do that I’m sure she would be obedient and do it. It really makes no difference because the two shall become one flesh and if one prospers the other prospers also. Being a leader in your ministry is separate from being a leader in your home. Everyone has their own role to play and should stick to the God ordained script of proper order.

I don't think God meant for a marriage to be a parent, child relationship but a partnership. Your wife is not your child or a pet your leading around..
she's your help mate but she's still a individual with a call on her life. Even if that's being the best mother raising the next president.
I believe it is looked at all wrong. Men feel a pressure to rule over or be better than their wife. She's being great at what she was called o do and you be great at what you're called to do. You both support and lean on each other.
    That's just my take.

I agree with Bro Perry, I'll say in another way as the Lord has taught me, it's ungratefulness to God when we don't appreciate the gift others & compete with them, God surround with these set of people to make your life easier, instead of you thank God for the provision for such gifts around you to make your life easier, you instead compete, if you're in position undermine them to kill their gifts, hey you're ungrateful, your gifted wife is God's provision in your life, be grateful, be comfortable in your role, vice versa

It's unfortunate that so many use their God given gifts for their own glory and status; and I think many of us trip into this from time to time, which is where humility comes from. We must be humble enough to realize when we're not focused on Him and His glory, and adjust back to that. If your ego gets bruised or wounded, good. It's supposed to die. Let God kill it.

This is an interesting but also controversial topic. When I look at all the Godly couples in the bible, I don't see an instance where the husbands play a supporting roles to their wives ministry. It's always the other way round. And God makes the roles even more clearer in Gen 2:18 when he says "I will make for him a suitable helper" This tells me that the husband sets the spiritual goal or vision, and they work as a couple to achieve it.

Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, was judging Israel at that time.
      -excerpt Judges 4
Deborah was a Judge, and her husband was not. A Judge was the
most important spiritual leader of this time period. Should you want
a study, I can post up my essay on her.

Nothing different. It's exactly the same. Don't size someone's gifts and purpose with yours especially under God's command. That goes in line with Jealousy and Covetousness. If your ego is what you're seeking to protect, the marriage has failed.

But also the woman needs to know how to not sabotage the vision God has given the man! U gotta be equally yoked!! And know how to both serve the marriage, and Gods plan for it. She has to pay attention as well as the man recognizing and hold each other accountable in different ways
