      It isn't yet committing "a holocaust". There is still a difference. But the rhetoric they are using is on the way there. Calling it a holocaust now isn't helpful. Just stating what they are doing is bad enough.
      If you want to make the argument, then point to the dehumanization that is going on and how a people that were dehumanized for such a long time and such a degree less than 100 years ago, can turn to dehumanize others that way, but the actions of the holocaust are not yet being repeated and to claim that they are will close off more people, than you will convince of it.

    Insinuating that the problems in Israel are all tied to “Netanyahu’s right wing government” is just such an oversimplification. Case in point the first caller saying he’s sad about the loss of life in Gaza but it has to continue. It’s very apparent that a popular number in the Israeli population including settlers have an extreme level of anti Palestinian sentiment which is one of the way this unacceptable apartheid system has been allowed to exist. And before someone tells me about October 7th this has been going on for years. The problem is much deeper than a change in leadership unfortunately.

    The devastation in Gaza serves as a stark reminder of the immense human cost of conflict. The staggering number of casualties, including fatalities and countless others left with life-altering injuries, suggests that the toll could potentially reach into the hundreds of thousands. Even if the death toll hasn't yet reached that figure yet, the widespread suffering from injuries, infections, and the harsh realities of starvation paint a terrifying picture of the toll this ongoing conflict is having on the Palestinian people. There's a noticeable global shift in sentiment towards Israel. Empathy, once prevalent, is waning as people express shock and disbelief over what's perceived as relentless retaliation. Many are calling for accountability, and personally I feel there should be repercussions for Biden, Blinken (how can he even put diplomat in his job specs)and any other international leaders that continued to support this Dresden style campaign (includes Obama and Clinton.) The actions of the Israeli government and IDF will leave a lasting mark on future generations of Jewish children, staining them with an evil legacy. It's difficult to comprehend this kind of insanity. But what I find even more staggering is the silence from Arab nations. DEAFENING

    Why does James feel the need to mention that although Hamas is labeled a terrorist organization in this country, it's not labeled as such in all countries...

      Most of the world doesn’t label Hamas as terrorists. And worth remembering that the French resistance were labelled as terrorists by the occupying Germans in WWII

      @@joshuarubin3684 my point is there’s nothing new about referring to your enemy as a terrorist. When did the UK finally remove Nelson Mandela from their list of terrorists?

      @@joshuarubin3684 Apparently I misread your original comment - I thought you were making the same basic point as me. So, yes, by comparing Mandela and his ANC or the WWII French resistance with Hamas I’m saying that enemies are frequently referred to as terrorists by governments. Not everyone regards Hamas as an enemy therefore they don’t call them terrorists - it is, after all, a purely subjective and meaningless term. Most significantly, Palestinians in Gaza elected them to be their representatives so it’s what they think which is most important isn’t it?

    How is the claim that Israel has permeated and perhaps achieved control of the US and the UK governments wrong or antisemitic? Is it antisemitic if it’s actually true?

    • @user-ck3xz9so7h
      @user-ck3xz9so7h Před 2 měsíci

      Its antisemitic because it is utter nonsense. US/UK support Israel for their own post-colonial geo-political interests, not because they are "controlled" by Israel and certainly not by Jews in general. The USA has 300 million people. There are about 8 million Jews in the US, and no, they don't control all the banks, or Hollywood or the media.

      Stating lobbyists on behalf of the Israeli state shape UK policy on Gaza is not anti-Semitic and shouldn’t be controversial. Why so tough for James to grasp? 🤔
