- Flying Qantas on a 14 hour flight non-stop from USA to Australia onboard the B787-9 Dreamliner!
With 14 hours and 42 minute flight time, this flight departs Los Angeles after midnight and arrives in Melbourne the next day after 9am. Even though I was assigned the middle seat (yikes!), it was a comfortable journey, with the huge selection of entertainment and snacks/drinks available throughout the flight. To keep myself fresh during the flight, I opted for the salad option (there were 3 choices of main) for dinner, and the fruit platter for breakfast. The mid-flight snack was burnt to h3ll though :P
I appreciate the frequent water runs during the flight, and the cabin crew team were very nice, including a jolly guy who would chat with each and every of his passenger during the meal service. The warmth of the Qantas crew really

QF94 is the same route but different time and it takes an hour longer.

As I'm watching this my brother and his family are winging it back to Australia via Dallas on the same plane ...they are halfway to Sydney over the Pacific with a little over 6 hours to go ...then onto home here in Perth!!
Havnt seen them in 7 years.

Also took QF 787 from SFO to MEL (16 hours) in the middle seat. I think that foot rest net thing helped a lot with my sleep.

I love the fact that they serve hot chocolate as a drink - not always available in Economy Class. Furthermore, the refurbished cabin product appears much more comfortable, which is extremely useful given the long duration of the flight. All-rounded flight review once again, and please keep them coming.
Thanks so much for watching! I really like the hot chocolate beverage service as well! How awesome they even offer to top it with a marshmallow as well. I think the seat indeed has great features for long-haul flying - mood-lighting, device holder and charging points, and a massive screen with a huge entertainment list and tablet-like interface. The always-open snack bar is a life-saver too! Have a great week ahead!

I always dread that terrible 14 hour flight, it looks like Qantas do a great job in looking after you at least.. The snack bar for Economy passengers would have been handy not all Airlines do that.

I went from Melbourne to San Francisco back in 2019 before COVID-19 arrived
And I went from San Francisco to Melbourne
The flight was good
On the way home the flight was 15 hours due to turbulence
On the way there it was 13 hours
Great experience. Just flew BA. Only 2 meals offered each leg. No snack. QF is way better.

I don't know how comfortable they are but those seats look brilliant and so did the mood lighting. And also the crew looked very nice.

The a350 is a much more enjoyable plane. Yet again I went with Jetstar on their 787 and Singapore airlines on their a350 so I’m biased.

I would highly recommend that you reduce the shutter speed of your camera during cabin shots to reduce flickering. I would also recommend manually adjusting color balance to match in-cabin LED mood lighting, which would reproduce colors correctly in your videos.
Nevertheless, kudos on producing good content, with pleasant background music, and great graphics. Keep up the good work 👍

Great video Flighttravels! Qantas have a very nice longhaul economy product on their 787-9s. Nice and big entertainment screen and more than enough food (although the midflight snack was a big fail). Like the snack bar as well!

Nice video. It really brought home the point of what it's like to be packed into a sardine can. Pity the video is about 10 months too late.

Definitely not lol. A380's have so much space. 787's are cramped.
787's are tiny and have a lot less room.
Even at Melbourne airport they use stairs? That is bad. is the airport gates at full capacity?
Yes apparently that was the case on that day - gates were at full capacity.
Is it just meal or does every meal service I see or have on an airplane always include turbulence as a side dish
