- This playlist includes an ambient tavern sound, along with a collection of the softer music from both the first season of The Witcher, the second season, along with some tracks from the animated film Nightmare of the Wolf. Created by Sonya Belousova (season 1 of The Witcher), Joseph Trapanese (season 2 of The Witcher) and Brian D'Oliveira (Nightmare of the Wolf). I did not create any of the tracks, I only collected and assembled them with an ambient backing track. Please enjoy, and stay safe on the Path.

Look I get it it’s not like the source material. It happens with everything that gets ADAPTED into something else. I think a lot of you had unrealistic expectations in it staying loyal and the same as the books. I’m sorry it’s not I wish it was but the show isn’t bad
It is not that they made something different. It is because they banned all of the origin material from the set and from the meetings in disrespect.

Sonya Belousova and Giona Ostinelli did such phenomenal work for season 1, I have no idea why they replaced them. They managed to evoke Marcin Przybylowicz's W3 soundtrack with being too similar and felt perfectly fitted to the world and story being told. I don't want to just dump on Joseph Trapanese as his Jaskier songs were terrific but everything in season 2 felt so generic and forgettable by comparison.
In retrospect between that and the weird and unnecessary diversions from the source material it should have been clear Netflix would screw this show up.
100% agree with this! The music is one of the best things about season 1 and I can’t express how disappointed I was with season 2 😞

They think they can just do whatever with a story we deeply love, they think they can milk us for money by replacing the one we like, they don't give a damn about the wishes and feelings of their own fans, but in the end they won't collide with nothing but hatred for what they've done... The music of the fist season standouts soooo much ... it has so much emotion. I have watched some episodes of season 1 just because of the music (when they cross the mountains when he kisses Yennifer...or when Geralt meets Ciri) the second season is such a slack job!!!! It is a pity they didn't hire Sonya/Giona for the second season, although they made the first one (I'm not speaking about the plot)
Agreed! The first season was beautifully done. I don't know what happened because the only standout song in season 2 was Burn Butcher Burn, which was decent but not that great compared to Jaskiers earlier songs.

I find music from the games (Witcher 1 - 3 and Thronebreaker) much richer in melodies. The ambience in W1 is also more of a dark fantasy (these tracks here sound more to-the-human, like they say about love or personal feelings). I advice those who are interested to check those soundtracks. Anyway thanks for the author for posting!
