There are also some things the manual doesn't document, and this goes for most brands. Panasonic examples include:
On most 2014 and later models, you can intercom all handsets and the base at once from the handset.
You can assign one-touch dial to not just individual handsets as the manual documents, but also all handsets at once.
On HD Link2Cell models (KX-TGE66x/67x, KX-TGF67x, KX-TG985SK), changing voice quality to Normal as shown in the Troubleshooting section will enable ring as cell and noise reduction as on non-HD Link2Cell models. The handsets included with these models show a menu with Panasonic DECT and Other Device when registering, which I believe means it will work on Cat-IQ-compatible bases, which have HD sound quality.
When a handset is supplying power to a Bluetooth base, you can't make changes to the phonebook due to the names of groups 1-3 changing, even when they added groups 4-9 to Bluetooth models in 2014.

UPDATE: On DECT models, there's also 1,5,8,# which fully resets the handset but without resetting the base or forgetting the registration.

The problem with the KX-TGD530 is pairing the handset to the base.
