At 2:04: I forgot to mention that if you put the phone on its charger, nothing will affect the registration process. If you put the phone on its charger, you won’t have to go into the settings. It will automatically enter registration mode.

Fantastic info. When deregistering a broken phone and replacing it with a newly purchased phone there was a bit of problem I experienced. The comment immediately below was helpful. The alternative path I used was to go to the menu and then down to "initial setting" and then down to "Registration" and then to choose OK on the screen. After that the handset was registered properly.
Another suggestion worth mentioning is to remind you that I think the best process for replacing a broken phone with a newly purchased phone is to deregister the broken handset first and then do the registration for the newly purchased handset. In this manner a space might be available for adding an extra phone as the base unit seems to max out for a total of 6 handsets. I found a new handset on Amazon for a lot less than 20.00.

    Doesn't have to be complicated:
Just make sure the extra handset (from a different mother) is charged. Then remove it from its charging station (which you have plugged into the same circuit as your existing system) and navigate to "Initial setting...register handset" on this new, different handset. Now, simply press "Locator/ Intercom" on your existing base station for 5 seconds ... and you see it register.
Obviously both phones must at least be compatible. And it's easiest to plug the new (extra) handset(s) into their charger(s) next to your existing base station so that you don't go running around with this.

I just purchased a replacement phone for a broken phone. The pup destroyed the phone(KX-TGE270) from my model KX-TGE275S base. The base is similar to the base in your video. The new phone model KX-TGEA20 with a 5sec window came with a simple charging base. I have no initial setup window, but a handset registration window. Nothing I press registers my phone.

When you’re trying to register, does your handset say “5 seconds?”

trying to register a 2 year old handset from phone set of 5 to new Panasonic set of 4- Have deregistered handset and gone through all the steps on new base and keep getting press locator on base 5 sec and put on charger when it is on new base charger. put on older small charger and says registering then beeps and say no power to base.. Trying to pair TG585SK to TG994SK

What I recommend doing is unplugging power to the base unit. Sometimes, the new handset is trying to readjust to the new base unit and might get stuck. Let me know if this works! If not, you can try another troubleshoot tip!

No dice :( cannot pair old vtech to At&t base.... :(

    • @alextorres3282
      @alextorres3282  Před 5 měsíci

Perhaps it’s a different process for Vetch phones? I don’t own one, so I don’t know the process. But all I know is that you cannot mix phone brands. For example, pairing a Panasonic to an AT&T base.

Is the handset already paired to the new base unit, or is it stuck on an old base unit?

If it's stuck paired to an old base unit, how do you unpair it?

Far to fast and erratic. Slow down for God's sake. Who the hell can follow this.

Most people can follow along. You can also:
      - pause the video
      -rewind the video
-be greatful for the existence of the video that cost you nothing
But if you are dialed into CBC (complain/blame/criticize) nothing will ever make you happy. Then you need Jesus 😂
