this show really is inaccurate, they forgot the part where joel gets shot by the sniper 80 times on grounded and rage quit 3 times
then the show's duration will be 3 hrs per episode
Lol
You're funny. It was exactly 132 times. And then the game stopped playing and came back a month later, only to get hit 34 more times and finally get it.
Yeah. The Fallout tv series is going to be MUCH more realistic. I've heard it crashes to desktop within the first 20 minutes 😂
@@peterclarke7240 damn, that means it's going to be the most accurate adaptation so far, last of us doesn't have shit on Fallout then :))
2:48 Joel received notification
"This weapon can be upgrade at gun table in future episode"
I NEED MORE SPARE PARTS TO UPGRAAAADE!
Only thing missing was the sniper shouting "I sTiLl fUcKin SeE yOU"
"Awww, that must have hurt"
Hide in that house, see if that helps!
"Stings, don't it!"
Made me want to rip his throat out, that line.
@@RuTube981 I still remember Markiplier's lines from his playthrough. XD "AaaAaH! I got shot!"
I love how this is one of the first times we see Ellie scared that Joel's going to die protecting her; she never was prior to this moment. Before, she has always been nonchalant about him risking himself, like "oh he can handle himself," but we can see that the longer they're together, the more she grows attached to him, she's starting to get fearful about losing him. The same is applicable to Joel, as he's INCREASING the difficulty and amount of risks he takes for Ellie to keep from losing HER.
Dont forget he still thinks of her as a parcel
@@IndianChad2005 he's slowly starting to see her as a daughter, just wait
You can see his mouth quivering when that infected girl followed Ellie into the van, and then again when other infected lunged at Ellie.
One thing I think is noteworthy is how Joel shows hesitation about killing the sniper, and almost a compassion, when he sees that's it's an old man, one that's well passed his prime.
Granted Joel does kill him when the sniper turns on him, being given no choice in the matter after that, but it is nice that he actually tries to give the old man a chance to live.
I really like how he gives me a choice and actually begs him to take it. The way he says "please don't", Pedro Pascal is a great actor
@@lumossk3657 - That's what I think bespeaks to the humanity that Joel still possesses, which the game addressed, too, but in different ways.
I literally did not expect them to include the sniper part in the show but I'm more than happy with the way it turned out.
I like that they semi-adapted Henry just ditching Joel and Ellie this way lmao
A sniper's biggest mistake is letting their location be known
Hard to hide muzzle flare at night
@@Etheral101 agreed
Or run away as an old fuck
Muzzle flash during nighttime is one example. But if that sniper had a suppressor on it, that would be a challenging one
Ya he just threw bullets out there which was dumb. And didn’t have a backup place to post up after he fired. Best course of action would be to extremity shot one of them when they were out in the open if he wanted to kill every one of them.
IMO this is the first real, significant shift in Joel‘s attitude towards Ellie. He was already protective of her, both physically and emotionally (the "you shouldn‘t have to do that at 14" conversation) but the intensity of their voices and looks when he asks ”Do you trust me ?” put their relationship to a whole new level.
gunfire also really pops and feels scary and impactful in this show. absolutely perfect sound design.
except to people who've actually been around guns.
@@Anthonest1yea I’d say the wire got the sound of gunshots the closest to real life
It’s not real at all
Just like explosions/hacking/melee combat/etc will never be realistic, neither will guns. Its why he mentioned pops/scary/impactful. Add a little bit of sugar and spice to anything in a movie and it'll be better than the real deal
@@Anthonest1I doubt you have ever been on the receiving end of any gunfire except for maybe in call of duty, you sound dumb.
Henry: tf is a comin from?
Joel: Shut up.
💀
Him giving the old guy a chance, along with agreeing to work alongside Henry despite him being a stranger, are the first signs of Joel starting to find compassion again. Even by this point, Ellie was already having an effect on 'repairing' him I think.
The only thing wrong with how they adapted this scene from the game is that Joel doesn't die 28 times on his way to the sniper's house 😂
It’s dark and he got crap aim got me🤣, without night vision you can’t do it unless it’s a full moon
I don’t what people are complaining about she’s a good Ellie
Idk why but hearing someone yell RUUUNN from a distance gives me more chills than anything.
I was like, Oh cmon... When he was missing all those shots. But when it was revealed as an old man, it was a nice touch to explain why the aim was so bad.
“It’s dark and he has shit aim it’s not gonna kill me”
-Joel Miller
This scene was great Joel saying he has a shit aim had me laughing 😂 and Ellie's concern for Joel is really great their relationship is blossoming already, I'm sad they missed out the scene where Ellie jumps from the bridge and says Joel will keep her afloat I was looking forward to that from the game but that's okay we got this
I was also looking forward to it, but maybe they'll reincorporate it somewhere else? Either way, I still liked what we were given instead.
They have pointed out that Ellie can’t swim. Typically when shows mention shit like that early on it becomes a problem later. So maybe they’ll throw in a similar scene later on
That kinda explain when players don't use pills to increase accuracy lol
Joel never played the sniper level in tlou 1💀
Joel: "Do you trust me?"
Ellie: nods
Me: "Completely"
🥹 ugh
Only thing Missing *_"Yeah Hide in that House see if that helps!" Whereeee Were you Going?"_*
I enjoyed the scene before where Ellie admits Joel gives her what she wants because she bugs him so much. Such a dad energy.
Nice shootin', Tex. 😎
Days gone?
I loved that scene in the game and was so happy that they put it in the series.
C'MON, I'M NOT GONNA HURT YA, SCOUTS HONER!
2:33 "please don't do it. please." 😔
Man really said he has shit aim
It bugs me that they'd hear the shot before the bullets hit.
Right? I get it's easier for the audience but it is weird
It’s meant to be realistic before the bullet hits the bang goes off from the area the bullet hit a second later I’ve seen it first hand
Wholesome
Sam character so different in the video game but it's perfect :) the creator of video game Neil druckmann wished he had that idea in the video game
So that's why the infected and that bloater came up out of the ground.
Best plan ever
Bella is sooo adorable
Huh so thats how the horde and the bloater made their appearance
Does anybody know the name of the soundtrack being played here?
James Cameron and these directors should get together and do a proper last Terminator movie!
Gary Pipper!
My dad was saying it how horrible the sniper was just trying to shoot them. 😂 I saw the whole game and my mom do nothing about it and she was asking you so many questions to, and I didn’t want to spoil it for her 😂
Joel use the sniper to cover the siblings and Ellie
Nawwww durrr
1:38 ???

Those rifle bullets are supersonic, so they hit the car *before* we hear the shot, instead of the other way around but your average TV audiencer can't be bothered thinking about stuff like that so the shot comes first and then the bullet impact because the average TV audiencer is who this is intended for doesn't think about stuff like that.
Nah, he was shooting cheap reloads
@@weaponsgradepotato As long as it's done properly. Not properly could cause serious problems.
You can hear the shot, before the bullet hits - is this accurate?
The speed of sound is generally faster than the speed of a bullet
@@crystallxix1493 That is generally untrue, especially for rifle bullets like that, unless they are forced to use subsonic rounds.
@@Anonie324 that is also true
@@crystallxix1493 well that’s just untrue. Unless they’re specifically using subsonic rounds
How many rounds in that rifle?
All of the rounds, until the plot says otherwise. 😂
@Peter Clarke Accurate to game because you get unlimited sniper ammo during this section.
@@emiliomorales8507 Exactly: "until the plot says otherwise."
Here’s a wild idea, he reloaded off screen.
@@peterclarke7240 Man like Pedro went through this section 1st try irl.
Same goes for the walk dead but hey let’s throw creativity out the window for the purest…
"He has shit aim", hbo really just put this show on very light mode💀
“He got a shit Aim” then where the fuck is the thrill ?
🤔this series leaves a strong impression because of the interaction of each character's dialog or p.o.v. but more about the fungal virus that affected the world.
So no one's gonna mention there was a old man using a sniper rifle
Grief.. so pants... bullets striking pavement then travel parallel so they would have been dead from that.. assuming that rifle was not a .22 and it looked like a 30.06 the car would have been overpenned and they would have died... also is this fallout 4 or something.. guy had a rifle and a few bullets? If he was that pop happy he must have had 100s at least
I’m tired of them showing joel killing people off screen and not doing action like the game did
Can't gun specialists be happy about how they protray guns, you need to remember that most of these writers where probably sheltered their whole life in a closed neighborhood. At least it's pretty realistic.
Classic Hollywood logic where a rusty car can stop bullets.
Terrible casting for Kathleen
Kinda dumb how there’s no recoil on the gun when he’s firing at the truck. You’d think an actor of Pedro’s calibre would be smart enough to simulate some recoil for a .308 rifle.
Another scene butchered. Should of filmed it in the daylight.
How cool would it be if the Sniper was Ish
I thought Ish is actually Frank
Frankish?
