AMD has so many good great features that nobody talks about. Switching from a GTX1070 to a Radeon RX6600XT I was absolutely amazed with what AMD is offering in their Software suite. Radeon Chill has been absolutely amazing! Lowering my overall power consumption, heat generation and noise. Let say I am playing Doom Eternal with raytracing enabled. I can quite easily reach 120fps, however, If I set the fps range from 60-120. The software will limit the framerate to 60fps when standing still, once I start move forward or sideways, it instantly reaches 80fps, and once I turn it instantly reaches 120fps.... I save about 60% power. and it makes a lot of sense, the card only renders what is necessary depending on your movement, you don't need insane framerates when you aren't moving. It still feels exactly the same way as if the game was locked to 120fps at all times... Sure this doesn't perhaps apply to competitive games with twitch-movement like CS:GO, but it works great for anything else. And for laptops that are usually thermally constrained Radeon Chill must be a godsend. AMD just need to step up their marketing :)

AMD Advantage (I will abbreviate this to AA) is a really good move from AMD
In my country, last year's Lenovo Legion 5 AA Edition with Ryzen CPU + RX 6600M 8GB is actually cost less than Legion 5i with Intel 11800H + RTX3050Ti 4GB
I am still waiting AMD's FSR, RSR, and Smart Access Memory technology to mature and can compete with Nvidia's DLSS

I think the current battery systems for laptops has a big issue. Like when you are gaming and the laptop has power connected; the system still draws the high demand of power from battery itself. Only thing is the connected power continuously charges the battery
having said so, this high rate of power drawing, kills the battery fast. Only sensible way i.e., to direct power supply to the system is being done by no manufacturer.
Please let me know if I am right about that.

That's not smart shift, the thing is, each RAM stick can only do 1 thing at a time (write or read) but on dual channel with 2 sticks the CPU can send, for example, 1 reading command and while the stick is reading the data the CPU can write to the other stick, having only one stick means the CPU have to wait for it to read so it can write to the memory, thus causing a performance impact

I agree with everything you said Dave but I think there's a 3rd perspective that we all should take on to this topic; BUSINESS
AMD is probably not "forcing "the manufacturers to use better screens for this lineup. They probably offer a better bundle than what the manufacturers are forced to choose with an NVIDIA based product.
They sell the components for cheaper, offer or maybe help the manufacturers to use a better screen for their products and close the deal.
Result? A product that offers great performance, great experience and costs less for users AND provide better profit margins for the manufacturers and their trading partners.

The problem is, as harsh as it sounds, AMD Advantage, isn't really an advantage on the whole.
Because of AMD's lackluster effort in productivity features or tools, they overall lack the versatility of Nvidia cards which are great for both WORK and PLAY.
Yes almost all RDNA2 cards up untill the 6700XT provide slightly better fps/dollar ratio compared to Nvidia cards, but as soon as you include let's say, video editing which requires good encoders/decoders, or 3D modelling, where Nvidia can use Optix or AI acceleration using Tensor cores, AMD cards fall flat and provide way less value.
That's why I believe and personally always look for AMD CPU + NVIDIA GPU configs.
The Zephyrus G14 as good as it is, is not appealing to me because of a lack of an NVIDIA GPU.
No fanboying, this is fact. My hard earned money will be spent on the more complete product.

I think the AMD Advantage thing is mainly marketed to gamers, who is likely to not care much about productivity. But you do have a point here.

That and the 2022 g14 runs hot and has widespread QC issues. AMD advantage certification should include those things as well.

100% agreed. As a blender user, NVIDIA's optix + their rtcores provide up to 3x the performance of an equivalently priced amd card. The rtx 3080 is about 2.5x faster in 3d rendering than the 6900xt.

sadly its the amd disadvantage still. They need to get their software, drivers, ray tracing, codecs, and everything besides the actual graphics up. Its all way way worse in terms of every single thing and completely unstable and extremely underwhelming when you look at an intel/nvidia setup even for content creator workload. IF they fixed all the massive holes and had such competetive things to things such as nvidia broadcast for people that work at home i would love to say they are at least equal and go AMD all day long, hell i named one of my children Ryzen ffs LOL. I have 3 amd advantage systems currently (G14 2022, strix 15 2021, and an omen) but find myself on my asus m16 instead just because of the bennefits of intel and nvidia provide with what im doing.
Side note i cant wait until the APU's are so good that dedicated gpu isnt needed anymore and at THAT point AMD wins the crown hands down. Yes the RDNA 2 in the 6000 series in my g14 2022 is really really good and kills intels iris currently you know technology is coming shortly that kills this and once it becomes the "norm" then im set.

How can you be so platform agnostic? What would a slight performance difference mean to you if it also means using an entirely different OS/ecosystem over the other ?
