Rogue Tower let's play gameplay today and oh man, what a game! Rogue Tower is a new tower defense game with roguelike aspect, dynamic lane spawning, and tons of different towers with special abilities! There was a new update for April Fools that completely changed all the towers and things went insane!

About Rogue Tower:
Rogue Tower is a tower defense game with roguelike elements and a continuously expanding path which you can influence. Unlock new towers and buildings, build up your defenses, upgrade your towers through card draws and cash, expand the path tactically to control how enemies move and defend your tower.

There's a lot of nuance to this game. Between tower selection, placement, setting, upgrade decisions and making combinations to get the harder achievements of mostly "Ballista + 1 other Tower" make it super challenging but fun.

They should add a clickable toggle at the start menu so you can just turn on/off the April Fools mode. Leave it a permanent option for those who want to mess with it.

Few things that will help in future runs:
Those buildings near your tower? They generate gold based on how many towers are adjacent to them. A good way to start is to just spam crossbows so you have 3-4 of them around each house. This will give you the necessary early game gold.
The more types of towers you unlock, the harder you make the game for yourself. You only have a set number of upgrades, as the game ends at wave 45, and each new tower type you unlock adds all their upgrade cards to the pool which in turn makes it harder to get the upgrades you actually need. Far better to focus on 2-3 tower types.

Is Kibitz a meta gamer? lol, no. Is he the most efficient traffic manager? anyone who's seen the city skylines series, (i love it), knows the answer to that. Does he make the most entertaining videos? Absolutely.
If you shift click when you deploy a tower, it'll copy the last tower and allow for quick placements.

Another tactic that (while it is boring) works surprisingly well is just to spam out ballistas, taking upgrades for them and elements. I never upgraded a single tower and have beaten one lane a few times with just ballistas

Donât the raised tiles increase range and base damage by up to 3? Why do you always place on the bottom level?
I've seen as high as 4 or 5.
the most broken thing about that patch, was the amount of universities, easy +40 is every attack type. somehow, hounted house was still bad in the patch:P

This game is really fun, kind of feels like after April fools game play reverting back, the game feels too slow now, like really really slow....its almost painful.

I see you upgrading damage multipliers where towers already have their highest multiplier. Maybe I'm wrong, but it looks to me like that is very inefficient. When you increase a multiplier from 10 to 11, it is a 10% increase. When you increase a 4 to 5 it's 25%. Know what I mean? Surely there are other considerations, but this seems to me like it makes a lot more sense.
It has to do with how the different types of damage interact with the different types of HP. General purpose towers might be of some use in some situations, but specialized towers are much more efficient. If the 25% increase never sees any use, then it was a waste of resources that could have been better spent on a 10% increase that is constantly used.
if somewant plans to buy it.... the soundtrack is great. may be worth the extra money đ

I was about to buy it but the developer apparently ignored everyone's feedbacks and kept on updating the game based on his own personal vision, no one likes what he did and he refuses to change anything and gives people more of what they don't want, apparently the game used to be fun, now is like a chore, I would love to see a comparison from this version to a most recent one

So I got to level 44 with only balistea and flame throwers. I could have gotten farther, but I needed to get off.

I dont like this patch. So much easy game now. With so much speed and range over all things its so much easy to apply effects and damage. Kind of borring.
