Imagine trying to defend your island and killing the intruder and he just eats fish.
You and 18 other guys lay him out then he runs to the water and catches 5 fish from 1 then eats them and then blows you, himself, and those 18 other guys up with a frag grenade and remains unscathed
You don't eat the fish silly, you slap it on your wound and it automatically stops the bleeding

2:28:19 Man has lvl 3 red ammo and Ben the Fish survived the shot. In context some of the biters are getting killed in one shot, a living legend in the making.
2:22:00 is literally what super villains do.....
not only did you make a gap in your defenses that seems to be impossible to get passed, but if they somehow do get passed, it shuts down all of your main defenses by taking out the oil pipes....
I agree with the sentiment, though in reality I don't think the AI would ever path around it.
@@Destroyahx2 you'd be surprised, often the biters will look for any weaknesses in a defensive line they can
@@rampantsarcasm2220 I think you might have accidentally installed Rampant with your copy of Factorio
cannot believe I watched the entire 3 and a half hours of this. Rly gr8 video… so awesome funny and cool…
This is a Supercut of the, in my opinion, most cinematic series I've created so far. It's been re-edited to fit together seamlessly, skipping the "Last Week in Biter Island"-parts, as well as the weekly commercial integration of Shapez,io (which is still a great game though), and a few sound issues have been fixed (most notably the accidental music cut in the finale with Ben the Fish), for the enjoyment of a continuous experience of the full film (and perhaps kick the algorithm's butt a bit after my absence ;)
Something nice to watch during the waiting times between the weekly episodes of my newest series:
Factorio Tunnel Vision: czcams.com/video/hUiyDGn3ntM/video.html
What's the music you have as background music called? I can't find any references, please I'm dying! Also Loved the movie watched it in one sitting.
EDIT: Just found it, it was Factorio OST #19 - Efficiency Program.
Michael, if i could ask what mods you used for this series? if you can anwser, thanks a bunch! if you can't, it's alright, i'll keep searching
It's like the Snyder Cut, the definitive version of a unique journey! Keep up your unique playthroughs, we highly enjoy them!
Could you do a follow up video on this series where you fulfill your promise of making artillery and using it?
the stone mine was comedic relief when things got tense, you could always rely on it to show off its comedic prowless and it really aided in the character development during the story
41:24 “we have to be FAST now, so i speed up the footage” had me dying lmao
I have literally never heard of you or this game before and this video still captivated me. That's how you know it's good. 11/10 my guy.
Fair warning: if you buy the game, it'll be the best hours-of-entertainment-per-money-invested you'll find for any entertainment purchase....... because you'll lose whole months of your life to the new addiction. But hey, the money saved on food you forget to eat will pay for the game, too! :D ;)
@@DavidLindes I agree. I spent 40 hours on this game in the span of 2 weeks. its such a captivating game. you hop on at like 3pm next think you know its still 3 until you check the clock again and its not 3pm its 3am. "well fuck man" and then continue playing.
@@V12Maniac "40 hours on this game in the span of 2 weeks." ??
Don't play Path of Exile then.. (well, before they killed it in patch 3.15) - you'll easily spend 40 hours in
@@V12Maniac "12 hours passed already?? Too bad, gotta solve this iron shortage"
Here is a *VERY* handy strat when using the defenders that takes advantage of them always trying to stay close to you AND moving so quickly: If you move in tight circles, they will fly right past you then correct their path, resulting in them flying in *large* circles around you. With a bit of practice and using short jogs sideways as you circle, you can have them orbiting around you at a pretty fair distance as you travel and drastically increasing their effective engagement range.
Ok but why was that ending so eerie, is the Factorio guy trapped in a cycle he could never escape??? The lore just e x p a n d e d.
This was a fantastic series to watch. Your editing style is unique and fresh - in the face of so many channels throwing a million and one special effects at the viewer, you have a mastery of knowing how to do a lot with a little and let the gameplay shine through. I've watched almost all of your backlog and eagerly await your future series!
the sheer amount of micro edits in this is impressive. worth the watch for that alone.
As someone who long ago in Factorio's development played a deathworld game on minimum starting area (I had to reroll a bunch of times to find a start which wasn't instant death), I appreciated this playthrough.
Honestly surprised I could watch that for the full length, greatest story I’ve ever seen! We’re gonna miss Ben!
I love this video for 2 main reasons -
1. It captures the feeling of what it's like to play the game, very nicely! The hassle, the struggle, and eventually, the small victories and then the big victories.
2. The video has been edited so perfectly, that even though there is no voiceover, it has a narrative quality and a 'personality'. It's funny, it's tense, and it knows exactly what to show slowly and what to skip over/speed up. Mega job.
I watched this bit by bit over the course of a week. I was always on the fence about getting factorio because I need a reason to build, I had no idea you could customize the enemies to attack you so much and all that. You sir convinced me to buy Factorio and I already have almost 30 hours in, played two days straight no sleep, started on a death world with my friend who wanted to try it too. We had to restart 2 times because we got out-teched by the biters evolving before we could even get red ammo lol. First world we got slaughtered pretty early on. Third world we stopped because I made the biters too easy from lowering their evolution down too much and giving us too big of a starting area. We are now on our fourth world, got an awesome spawn where we are on a island in the middle of the normal map with only one land bridge to us. There are a few nests and we wiped one out using the chaingun vehicle mod, my friends chaingun got destroyed but we still barely managed to wipe out the nest (maxed size and amount of enemies). We now have to wipe out the other 3 in the north. It's great fun, thank you for making this video.
almost 30 hours in, played two days straight no sleep --> you're doing it right
Deathworld on your first game?!? You're crazy, but I respect the bravery. I have 900 hours in Factorio and I'm trying deathworld for the first time now and it's not easy.
I've been watching this for so long that my phone has become seemless with reality, it's like factorio is actually a limbo im stuck in, and my phone is the headgear splitting me from life. This singular video has ruined my sleep schedule and life, as the only thing i hear now is a factory expanding. 10/10
Watching this series unfold felt amazing, just as it feels to watch the tunnel vision play-through. Your series are always legendary!
Damn, what a stupid idea to start at 1:00 AM with this video.
Awesome work, exciting to watch and perfect editing.
I just started playing this game last night. This is so incredibly mind blowing to see how someone can be so good at this
I watched the original series and the movie is a fantastic way to revisit! It rocks and so do you! Thanks for the awesome playthrough!
The most well spent 3 hours 38 minutes of my life.
This was _incredible._ Loving the simple editing style, humour, information and moments of peace & danger... you completely hammered modern movies and TV series which are so devoid of actual effort. I WILL watch this again.
You people will never cease to amaze me with your masochism.
Meanwhile, on the biter side of the front, Field Marshal Bouglas Haig was heavily criticized for not coming up with anything better than massed frontal attacks.
"Playtime (this save): 18h 43m"
Meanwhile my first playthrough on a super easy world took over 32h...
50hrs in on my first playthrough, finished my first yellow science factory for 1/second, now I just have to start produce purple science and upgrade blue and grey science. No where close to a rocket. But Artillery is fun tho.
Just found this I wish I did earlier using text as talking works well editing is amazing and immersing could watch all 3 hrs in one sitting and the music choice is amazing using Factorio music instead other random music and snipping it to fit the moment.25/10
I'm not a Factorio player, just a occasional watcher from here and there, and the fact that you explain your moves, comment it, and put some music and jokes here and there made this really enjoyable, I watched it entirely, a pleasure.
I watched it all in one evening. it's an incredible video and tons of hours spent on that i bet. Thank you for creating it and thank you for putting it online for others to watch ^^
Thank you for this edition, your videos are amazing! I was happy to see series finale live, and it was great!
I feel like this was a weird combination of Starship Troopers and Factorio lol. "The only good Biter is a dead Biter, Mike's Roughnecks HOO!!" amazing video loved every second :D
I feel like the whole point of factorio is that you play less of factorio but in doing so you are playing factorio. It’s an endless loop. We all are always playing factorio. There is no escape, we are past the event Horizon. The factory is eternal. All hail the tree.
I’ve been watching this in short segments for the past week every night before bed. What a nice way to end the day 😌🛌
Ben the Fish then went on to create his own 3 hour long atmospheric fully edited playthrough on his efforts to launch a rocket (loaded with nuclear explosives) back towards home
I remember thinking this challenge was to much but you proved me wrong I will enjoy rewatching this challenge.
wow watching this really brings back memories. i forgot how many hundreds upon hundreds of hours i put into this game. its all coming back lol. great video
I didn't expect to last the full 3-4 hours, but I was hooked throughout and watched it all in one go. Actual amazing video, has made me wanna get back into Factorio myself!
I just started playing the game recently, and all the explaining you did in the video really helped me understand the game more. Good job on the video, it's fantastic. Keep going man!!
Ok so i just watched this entire video in one go, without any major breaks (mostly toilet/food), and now i will:
- Subscribe
- Ring the bell
- Like the video
- Start playing factorio (again bc lost interest a few years ago)
- Recommend this channel to all my friends (yes all 3)
and recommend you do the same.
You my guy put so much effort into your videos, you deserve MUCH and MUCH MORE than what you have!
(review written with my limited english knowledge :) )
i never thought i would spend 3 and half HOURS on youtube watching 1video! Sure i did it in the episodes, but this was one sitting.
Seriously good job man. I would love more of these movie nights.
Wonderfully put together. Masterful work yet again.
The choice of music was everything in this video, it kept that sense of dread luming over the horizon
I just came across Factorio yesterday, and this is a beautiful introduction -- and the video is beautifully made, too! Thanks for the entertainment, and a follow definitely earned :)
Awesome editing and commentary. This was super fun to watch!
I've started this as a background video while reading comics/manga. I didn't manage to read a single page because this was BEAUTIFUL!
Had never heard of this channel and I was enjoying the full 3.5h. You've gained a sub. Ty for the great vid
I have no clue how I stumbled upon this channel but I am so interested and can’t stop watching this video. It’s crazy Bc he doesn’t have to talk to captivate me and make me wanna stay and watch.
Great video, really enjoying it
I have to say, i LOVE these awfully beautiful solutions, like at 2:56:00 using the STEEL BELT FOR A DIFFERENT SETUP to deliver coal
this must have taken forever to plan out, everything fits sooo nicely together, its like this island was handcrafted
Funny, because I just make it all up as it comes along, like in your example I figured I wasn't going to use that steel belt for anything else, so I figured I might as well use the empty side to save some space without it biting me in the ass later
Honestly I love the humor in the subtitles, amazing job. I can't wait to see the next mega cut ;) +1 Sub
this is without a doubt the best factorio footage out there. Thanks for the entertainment.
only half an hour in and this is already one of the best factorio playthroughs i have seen. your editing is wonderful
This was fantastic, I don't know how I got here but, I love factorio, and now I love you. thanks bro
Thank you so much for the comprehensive explanations of turret damage and defensive strategies!!
Holy shit... did you really montage 3,5 hours of footage
That's some true dedication right here
I salute to you Sir
51:48 the subtle editing here is what makes this channel so great
One side of the spectrum, you have Micheal, able to do an almost impossible challenge. Then you have me, giving up half way cuz some small bitters bit too much into my base. So skilled! Keep up the good work.
That was just plain wonderful, from beginning to end. Wow.
Damn dude. i watched the whole video in one go. That was truly epic. Wel done.
As a beginner Factorio player my mind is just no ready yet.
Love the ending with that furnis and the drill. hahaha
According to Steam I've played Factorio for almost 3300 hours by now. And I still enjoy watching you playing it your way and doing your challenge. And I still see new ideas and new concepts. Gotta love this game, it is nothing short of a masterpiece.
See you around and may your factory grow! :)
I literally never watched anything this long on yt cuz I quickly get bored, but not here, amazing video
Great effort! That was an amusement to watch. Jokes are great, machinery is "compact", Ben the Fish is safe now. Amazing.
That was great. Loved watching this. The music you used was great and loved the time you took to edit. The tree as well as the fish were nice moments in this atmospheric and energetic gameplay experience you had here.
This video was made into a masterpiece. Very entertaining. Thanks a lot!
I'd just immediately die and be done with this playthrough. Subscribed instantly.
I got off factorio earlier and had been playing for a few hours and now I’m watching this thinking man I need to hop back on, cracktorio is dangerous
Very underrated channel, your editing is enjoyable and your content is clean, keep up the great work :D
Amazing work man
Bro I fucking love the factorio soundtrack. Really great music for the setting.
i had aready see the seris before this montage : you did an incredible job !
Hey Mike, just want to say I love your demented sense of humor, and I appreciate the effort you go through to try and consistently make the playthrough entertaining. It would have been easier to be factual and straightforward, but you did a bunch of editing and everything. Great work
I rarely watch such long videos... but this... this was worth my afternoon. Amazing job dude! This movie was really good! :)
I have never tried, or even seen turret creep using flamethrower turrets - that looked awesome!!
Thank you for the remastered of my favorite Series ;)
But seriously I really like your video so i hope you will continue. And bonjour from France.
For the first time on CZcams I watched such a long video without rewinding. Survival on the island is cool)
amazing editing, thanks for video, it's a pleasure to watch
the music of this game, gives you chills
Wtf. I just now put 2and2 together that you are the guy who also made this. This was the best Factorio video till Dosh started. Love your content.
With the primary difference being that Michael is humble, entertaining, funny, AND knowledgable!
In stark contrast to this, dosh is a tool in love with his own voice and shitting on everyone else, that happens to be knowledgable about the game as an afterthought.
Cant believe i watched this whole thing in one go, epic video
Great job!!
I really enjoyed watching the whole video ^^
What a madman! Great editing and commentary.
I don't understand how you managed to make me watch 3 and a half hours of a game that I didn't know until now without me getting bored for even a second.
Absolutly facinating
That was insane. Thanks for that
2:28:18 The turrets go wild with applause at the arrival of Ben the Fish!
SO well made
watched the whole thing in one go
"Hey, want a free sample?"
"Oh hey man, yeah cool, what's the sample of?"
"DEATH!"
"I HAVE BEEN HOODWINKED."
That was indeed a movie! Well done! I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Man I got captivated by your gameplay usually I don't watch gameplay all that much but this video here made me watch a 3hr long video without pause
Love the video Michael. Very unique and relaxing (to watch at least).
Great editing, enjoy the whole video! Keep up the great work!
I thought of this movie when CZcams showed me your new series! Congrats on hosting new videos with vocal commentary! It's a big leap, and well worth making. Can't wait to see more of your new series!
That was awesome! Thank you, Michael Hendriks.
That was just amazing!!

yeeeessss someone who sees the joy combat drones bring. distractors are my fave. you can drive passed a nest and fling them over the nests. and since they dont move from where they land they will stay and kill while you lure away the bugs.
finally finished the video, after 3 weeks of watching parts on and off i finished it and let me just say great video it has made me really try to get my friend into it too now
Watched whole 3h. Nice vid bro!
This video is what I show my friends when they ask why I love flame turrets so much
"Why are you expanding the factory?"
"So I can defend myself from the biter attacks"
"Why are the biters attacking?"
"Because I'm expanding the factory"
I love factorio
The mathematical answer to why you should expand is because the more I expand the least perimeter per area I have to protect* (also because you need more Iron)
*for a convex polygon shaped base
@@Soken50 heh never thought about it like that, yeah. The bigger my area, the less of my area is perimeter.
"PEACE was never an option"
the serious answer would be: the biters will spread eventually so you can't avoid getting attacked, also you want off the planet
yes I'm fun at party guy :P
So it's a loop until when one side dies
That's a kind of fun to watch
