The league was so trash, then people didn’t realize that, like Russell winning 11 titles, he had 13 Hall of Famers by his side, only shooting 44% as a center. He should be dominating, especially with no three-point line; they had like 10 fewer games, and the season ended in May instead of June, and they only played the same 8 teams over and over again. Imagine Wilt instead of Russell; they would probably go unbeaten, to be honest, because the dude put up over 50 in a season that is unheard of and shot 73% in a season that is insane. He got help way later. He played with Baylor, but he had a nasty knee injury, which didn’t help. Wikt was at the end of his career; he wasn’t in his prime anymore, and people bring that up, saying, Oh, he had helped, like if he had so much more help then Bill Russell did. The young generation doesn't know Jack shit now days; they just go off the 11 titles, and that's all they know; they don't look up stats of what he shot if they want to go by that, which most don't know. You can say Sam Jones won 10, and in my opinion, he was better but got less praise, and Russell only put up like 16 a game, which isn't that great, but he had 23 rebounds a game. Wilt put up 30 points and 28 rebounds when he played Russell, and he absolutely dominated him. Wilt would even win sometimes, which is amazing and embarrassing for a guy who had 13 freaking Hall of Famers. Wilt had no one, but no one could stop him. Imagine all the 7’0 foot guys. Shaq would absolutely embarrass Russell. Russell would put up problems 4 and 4 with Shaq putting up 50, 35, and 4 since Shaq wasn’t a great passer, but the dude would outmuscle players in the paint, and Russell would have no chance. Russell is also the only one who never practices an NBA game; if he did that now, he would probably get cut off the team. Players just put up trash on the old games, which is why people say people played against plumbers who weren’t that good; most of the players wouldn’t make the pros or even college. Cousy wouldn’t make the high school team today in his prime, and Russell would make the NBa, but he would either be undrafted or a late second-round pick; he would be as good as Kendrick Perkins in his prime. The league was so bad that the Celtics were in second place in the East before getting Russell at 39-33. No one would beat 11 titles because the league is too hard now and there’s 30 teams now. Russell couldn’t even play more than 13 seasons, which is sad, and the league was a lot easier then. It is now. their bigs, who can shoot 3’s and have evolved their game so much that they couldn’t hit a shot like that in college. I wouldn't put Cousy in my top anything; people who don't know basketball put him in the top 50, which is pathetic. He couldn't dribble well, and it was trash. If you had Irving on him, he would make him look like a clown. You could have a person at the park who is better than everyone there and make him look bad, and people would be like, How did this dude make the NBA? And remember, he never shot better than 40% and only shot 36% for his career. I am being nice; I put Russell at 90th best. The fact that Kobe put him in his top-five starting lineup is laughable. You have to put Tim Duncan or even Karl Malone over him; they would drool over him. He looked decent in the NFL, but his defense would never do anything now, and people would say he’s trash. He just got lucky to play in that era against 8 freaking teams compared to 30 now, and he had 13 Hall of Famers. People will say, Oh, you don’t know basketball if you say this, but come on, the dude has that many Hall of Famers against shorter players and only shot 44%. People only watching this because it’s the first one ever. Curry would probably have 8-10k 3’s in that era. Ford was trash and would be out of the league in a year or two if he played in this era. He would be like Anthony Bennett 2.0. The only reason he lasted so long was because he was the first pick and they wanted to give him a try; he shouldn't even be that high. He was really good in college, but he was too fxt and too slow to keep up. I never understood why they picked him number one over Oladipo, and no one knew Gianni’s would be good, but man, if they did, he would be an easy number one pick, and in my opinion, I feel the Bucks would have won against the Celtics. And Cavs would have made it 7 with Allen in the paint if he had tried hard to stop them healthy and Mitchell had dominated against them when he was playing.

Wow this was a really passionate post and I like it a lot. So I'm gonna pin it. But you're right and thats why its hard to say (and also a little unfair in my opinion) to say one person is the greatest of all time because the game has changed so much and its not a level playing field when making that judgement.
