RIP Chuck Yeager (February 13, 1923 - December 7, 2020), aged 97
You will always be remembered as a legend.
This was such a historical day for both Chuck Yeager and America 🇺🇸. I’m still amazed at how Chuck managed to break the sound barrier having 3 broken ribs at the time of the flight.
He would have suffered extreme gforce
"It was only a flesh wound" -Yeager
An actual beast of a man. Oh, how we could certainly use men like General Yeager today.
Arguably most storied test pilot of all time, lived to be 97…what more could you ask for really? RIP Chuck ✌️
The man had more balls than a big end bearing, salute and rest in peace
When he said the Mach meter was broken, that was code. He was telling them he broke the sound barrier. It was in case the Russians were listening. There was nothing wrong with the meter. No one was watching and waiting on the ground except the engineers and the people involved in the test. Only they knew about it. He did in fact have broken ribs.
Yeager the greatest pilot ever
agreed
This is so awesome. I remember hearing sonic booms from concords leaving Nashville airport when I was in Elementary School. It was the coolest thing.
RIP to a Legendary Pilot!!!!!! 🇺🇸
The Right Stuff 👍
can't wait for the moment somebody flies their spacecraft to the speed of light
Oh
That's right, because death will greet us first before we do....hehe.
With broken ribs
Named a drink after this hero
Great guy who was a well known Anglophile and loved the Spitfire.
chuck😊😊😊😊
From a time when America had true heroes.
Chuck Yeager, Scott Crossfield, Robert White, Joe Walker...the Right Stuff!
Proud to be a WVian, he’s a true daredevil and hero ❤️
Excellently neat job guys!!

I found out about chuck yeager when i watched the movie the right stuff!
I remember how crazy it was saw it all what a time in our country things were sure different. I really miss those days !!
A cowboys whip also breaks the sound barrier. The crack you hear is a sonic boom.
yeah they had bullets that went well past the sound barrier too, they mainly wanted to get a plane going that fast
Wow it's amazing
ooo what a boom!
How cool is that
Wow!
Yeager knew the flight would change his life - if he succeeded.
Next is to break the Light barrier
At 1.39 you can see a swept wing chase plane. I didn't know there were any swept wing fighters in 1947 in USA. Looks a bit like an F-86 - Maybe prototype?
Jagermeister 🥰

Please make a video on Flight ✈️ 8303 Karachi crash
Thank you
The bell x 1
The US DOD used British technology to build the x-1 and it also influenced the F-86 Sabre... Fact!
Yeager and his first and the worlds 3rd Mach 1 flight. Yeah go to wiki or the Smithsonian. Both cowards and won't admit they've been wrong all along. Notice they now credit Yeager with being the first to break the sound barrier IN LEVEL flight. This is known as moving the goalpost.
You see North American test pilot George Welch did it in a dive in the XF-86, twice before Yeager. All by himself I might add just went up to 40,000 ft., pushed the nose over and down he went and should be into aviation history.
I'm all for giving credit, where credit is do and the fact that everyone got it wrong is no excuse to stiff George Welch. He did it, he was first and he should wear the crown.
Messerschmitt Me-262 pilot Hans Mutke was the first to fly supersonic in a dive and live to tell the tale.
if these talking heads would've just been quiet and let us hear what Yeager was doing... I mean come on.. I know they like to contribute info but I'd rather see what we can and hear what we can without that.. perhaps just add it on after????
The spicy stem concomitantly bruise because maid bodily last concerning a forgetful competition. acoustic, lively class
Ah, the perils of using Baidu Translate :-)
Not sure if porn or poetry.
Incredible how one day you could be riding a horse and the next day you’d be the first man to break the sound barrier (with multiple broken ribs at that).
