Helpful tip: it maybe easier to create a QR code using something like Canva. They now have a feature to edit the color of the "dots" and the background and margin, making it much easier to edit. If you do a transparent background, 0 margin, and download with a transparent background as a .PNG or .SVG, it will make an easier-to-manipulate file :)

Use a URL shortner to make a shorter URL which is less data in the QR code and that will make the design much simpler and easier to weed.

It should as long as the wood is lighter colored

I'm looking to take my phone to a craft fayre, record people's messages and create QR codes for them and upload them. Can I do this using your QR link from my phone or do I need to take the voice recording, upload it to my computer and then transfer it from there? Thanks x
The biggest thing you’ll have to do it have somewhere on the web to hold those voices like this one is done using a google drive link. In order to provide the service you want you will need to be able to have something that the voice message can stay on forever. You can upload to google drive from your phone
What did you set your machine at? Premium Vinyl? I can't get mine to come off with all the parts!

I love your tutorials! I am trying to put a qr code on a pillow using HTV but all the little dots are sticking to my mat. Leaving only the outline on the Htv any tips?
If they are sticking to your mat it sounds like you are cutting too deep. They should stay on the heat transfer mask
loved the video and I was successful creating the actual code but am struggling when I go to make it it comes up with the two pages the code and white background but I am doing something wrong at that point I guess - is there something special to how you put vinyl on mat ? when it starts it doesn't cut and then gets an error that can't find make sure I am using white ??? any ideas ..the video doesn't actually show this step so must be doing something wrong
You have it set to print and cut. You need to set it to cut only

You would need to somehow save the voicemail and the. I would recommend putting it into your google drive and create the link to that for your qr code

I want to put a QR code on a Cricut mug in between two pictures. The three items fit nicely on the mug but when I go to "make it" it tells me its a large project and unfortunately it never opens. Is there anything I can do so this will print on a mug? Thanks!!
Make sure you take all the pieces of the QR code and weld them. Design space is being a real pain lately

its cut on vinyl using the vinyl setting with permanent adhesive vinyl loaded vinyl side up into the machine
Do they need to be .mp3 files? I had one and it was I forget exactly but it had a 4 in it and it kept saying it was invalid.
Depends where you load it for the most part mp3 files are used more than the mp4
Would this also work with UPC-12 codes and/or SCC-14 codes to put a barcode directly on a product or box of a product?

For the most part as long as you use contrasting colors it works

I haven’t but the issue is the code needs to sit pretty flat so the back or sleeve is the best place for them

When you upload to design space you click on all the white parts to remove it
Is this same way you would prep a file for ENGRAVING a QR code? I am looking to make METAL BUSINESS cards and when I switch to ENGRAVE the QR code looks different. How do you format a working QR code to engrave and read on aluminum? Any tips?
QR codes probably are not going to scan correctly when engraved. They need to be really clear.
@@CorinneBlackstone that is interesting because I read that it works on wood and bright aluminum. They have examples online of engraved wood and even qr engraved business cards. They have metal blanks that I ordered on Amazon but I can't tell when I switch to engrave what will be cut and what will be left because it flips to being invisible lines. I guess I have to play with it. There are lots of engraved qr code examples in wood and metal maybe not from a cricut though. Thanks for the reply!
@@FilmGrad07 here’s the thing those are usually engraved using a laser engraver. The cricut doesn’t do such a great job. I would say try it but don’t be shocked if it doesn’t work. The cricut engraving is not awesome
@@CorinneBlackstone I totally understand. I am actually taking a class this month on industrial lasers and cnc routers at a Makerspace. But in preparing my engraving vector file with a png and I tried it where I selected the white parts out and I tried it where I selected the black parts out and when I look at how the engraver will read it it just looks like empty lines and boxes. You can't tell how it will engrave or cut. So do you remove the white parts or the black parts in an engrave file is what I was trying to figure out. I will go to Joann today for some metal dog tags and play with it so I can make the proper file. I am using cricut design space now but I will be using illustrator and fusion 360 for the laser and cnc files. Thanks again! Great Channel! 👍

You can download it into your Google Drive. I have google drive on my phone and have it shared to my computer

Truly I do not remember which part cut first. It doesn't really matter which cuts first just that you put the black on top of the white

Vinyl but for a keychain I would use print then cut

II realize this is pretty old so not sure I'll actually get a reply or not I might have missed it in the video but I just wanted to verify once you upload the audio into the drive folder and you make the QR Code do you need to keep the file in Google Drive for it to work or if one it's done if you delete it then the QR Code wouldn't work is that correct
Yes the link takes you to the google drive. It needs to stay there for this to work

If the fabric can be laid flat it should work

@@out_the_crib_customs you are asking about two totally different things. Are you cutting vinyl or cardstock? What is not working for your project?
@@CorinneBlackstone I am using permanent vinyl from the craft store. When i go to weed it out the dots for the QR CODE come off. I’m not sure which setting to use on my circuit to cut
@@out_the_crib_customs Well if its paper studio brand vinyl its no good for these kinds of things. But it really depends on on the vinyl. Most should cut on the plain old vinyl setting but all machines are different so you will need to play around with it. Oracal and Starcraft work best for these smaller cuts.

how did you cut onto white paper?mine cut fine but its in a 1000 pieces and cannot put the code back together if i print black and white separately. Please help!!!
I didnt cut it on paper. It's done on vinyl.

What color vinyl are you printing the QR code on ? White or black ? Or both ?
You don’t print this version. It’s cut on black vinyl with a white vinyl square behind it

Hi it’s me again so i got the file in mps i inserted in my drive and got the qr code it scans bit the thing is it doesn’t play automatically when scanned i have to click download to play it how can i make it play automatically when they scan it?
It probably won’t ever play automatically that’s not how it works. You can upload the video to a private CZcams but it’s still going to need to hit play

You make the google drive accessible to anyone with the link then they can get to the file

I don’t use those apps. I believe you can access the codes on their site

@@BigGucciHands24 simply put the vinyl color side up if you are use adhesive vinyl. This is a really old video. Also be sure you are using the right verbiage. This is cutting and not printing two very different things.
You cant just use permanent black vinyl? Mine is going on a white sign.
If you are putting it on a white background yes you can use just the black.
Is the QR code website free?
I'm new to Cricut and particularly doing these QR codes and I've watched and watched the video but I don't get how you got the black QR code on the white vinyl. I followed the instructions and cut two pieces of vinyl a white and a black then got lost after that. How did you get the black QR code on the white vinyl and how did you know which parts of the QR code to weed. I'm using htv and even though it worked I think it was only luck. I have another 3 to make so I want to understand what I'm doing.
You layer them meaning you place the black on top of the white. To know what to weed you can look at the image of the we code to help you see what pieces need to stay. Honestly checking out the print then cut QR code might be a little easier as well. There is no layering or weeding for that.
@@CorinneBlackstone I just realised that your black vinyl had white backing, is that correct? This is where I'm getting confused about black on white.
@@livevibrantly the back on the vinyl is the paper sheet it comes on. All adhesive vinyl comes on a backing sheet

Thats pretty tiny if you are using the dots. I used the square version

Yep! Always a good plan especially if you give it as a gift. You’ll see I scan it at the end as well
I’m trying to save a voice from a video, when I try to upload it to Cricut I get the message. You have selected an unsupported file. Is that because it’s video.

You would need to make sure it’s a file on your computer usually in an mp3 format then load to your google drive

Can’t u print it on clear vinyl
You cannot print on just any vinyl. The vinyl must be a printable product. This is not really a good candidate for clear because you need to have a contrasting back color so the phone can read the code.
What is the google drive? Just learning.

@@CorinneBlackstone ok. Also- Is this a layered project? There’s 2 cuts and you mention a black and a white vinyl. What’s that about please? I’m confused what to do with two cuts unless it’s layered, then I’m all shades of out because I haven’t done that yet.
@@azyourlily you have to have a solid white background behind a QR code or it won’t read. Because I planned to put it against something dark it had to have the white square

@@azyourlily yes black on top of white. Super easy put the black on the transfer tape remove the backing then place on top of the white vinyl

I am talking about audio because that’s what the QRcode leads to. It’s a song. This code is on the side of a picture frame with a photo of my first dance and the code takes you to the song
