In my family we use the fudge recipe on the fluff container here is the recipe Ingredients: 7½ oz jar Marshmallow Fluff 2½ cups sugar ¾ tsp salt ½ stick butter or margarine 5 oz evaporated milk ¾ tsp vanilla 12 oz (~2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate pieces (optional) ½ cup of preferred mix in such as dried fruit or chopped nuts (you can mix for multiple types of toppings but the toppings should be ½ cup total not ½ cup of each type) Directions: Grease a 9-inch square baking pan; set aside. In large saucepan combine first 5 ingredients. Stir over low heat until blended. Increase heat to medium and bring to a full-rolling boil being careful not to mistake escaping air bubbles for boiling. Boil slowly, stirring constantly, 3½ - 5 minutes to the soft ball stage. (You can test this by putting a little bit of the mixture into a cup of ice water. If it becomes a soft solid that can be rolled after 10 second and is slightly chewy when you try is is ready to take off heat.) Remove from heat, stir in semi-sweet chocolate pieces until they are melted. Stir in vanilla. Add mix in of choice. Turn into greased pan and cool. Makes 2½ pounds. I hope you enjoy!

Candy making comes by achieving varying degrees of moisture loss. Hard candy has the least moisture content while softer taffy's and fudge have more. For most home cooks the best way to know the moisture content is to measure the temperature of the "sauce". The higher the temperature gets, the less water there is left in it. I do wish you would make some cookies. Thank you for sharing.

Making fudge is not easy I have made a lot in my life time . My favorite recipe is called Fantasy Fudge it is on the back of a jar of Jeffy Marshmallow cream. You do have to check it by dropping some into a small cup of cold water, just a few drops of the syrup to make sure it is at a soft boil stage about four minutes of boiling . But I alway check. It should form a very small ball and hold the shape . It is sugar, marshmallow cream, evaporated milk, (canned milk) Then you add milk chocolate chips. Last the vanilla. It comes out great you can add nuts or not depending on what you like ! I made so much of this for Christmas I gave a lot as gifts to my neighbors ! Some came and asked me if I had a as my more lol I really made about 8 pounds !!! I make some with out nuts my youngest son doesn’t like nuts , I know you don’t like them either ! LOVE the fudge you've made, my wife and I filled 13gallon drums with it, and have been distributing it by the slice (about 4 tablespoons each slice) to the local stray cats and dogs who are eating all up (very yummy!) was told by the rspca that you cannot feed dogs or cats chocolate but we said is okay because this is fudge, and my wife's ex husband used to own dogs for racing and fights and he said they were find and would eat 3-4 milky way bars a day!
