  • A pretrial conference is common in contentious divorce or child custody cases in family court. It's a way to give the judge an understanding of the contested issues. Senior Associate Attorney Kristen Carr explains in this video.

Thank you I needed as much guidance as I can get because I fired my divorce attorney for inadequate representation and went pro se. I know I know stupid move. However, I’m a different animal in court through our five year marriage an eight year relationship I took over 1000 screenshots of the most insane texts, anybody could see, I plan on using 70 to 80 of these texts. It’s a six hour trial I have 16 different audio recordings secretly made to videos of her throwing wine glasses at me.

Is this the same as a chamber conference with all attorneys and the Judge?

In Some States, For Example In Rockdale County, Georgia ONLY The Attorneys Are Ordered To Appear At The Pretrial Conference (For A Divorce) In The Judge’s Chambers And Off The Record On Behalf Of Their Clients While The Clients Do Not Have To Come To Court For The Conference.
