      None of the scented products has to be FDA approved. They can put what they like in their products. As a consumer you can check the ingredients with their material safety data sheet. The Environmental Working Group's website is useful in determining what is harmful. The EPA is the most likely group to regulate these sorts of products, but they were already overworked when Trump cut 25% of their budget a few years ago. Not sure they have even recovered from that. Bottom line: no one is looking out for us, we have to do it ourselves. Thankfully there are many labs, universities and researchers doing the work to discover the effects of these chemicals on people, animals (pets!), and the environment.

    • @switezianka7959

Long time to recover but eventually I did. I got a visit from the entire infectious disease department and was tested for every bug but none was found. I remembered that I had been using the Wall Flower plug in for 2 months in my apartment. I was told the liquid in it is petroleum based and while it smells natural there is nothing natural in it. Same thing with the candles. Now I have nothing to do with any toxic chemicals including bleach, floor cleaners, etc. Why do we think we need such harsh chemicals to clean?

      I had to quit all that stuff back in the late 90's. Was poisoned by Formaldehyde in a brand new mobile home in 1975. All the paneling was soaked in it before the law changed it. Then, yrs later 1991 was poisoned by a Solvent (commercial-grade tile/grout) that destroyed all the clothing in our Dept Store and 3rd time was overexposed to Pesticide in 1996. For many years there wasn't much to choose from, now it's much easier to find things fragrance-free and without all the extra chemicals. Fragrance is a MAJOR contributor to health problems. The ingredients are a trade secret, so they can get away with pouring toxins into the fragrance portion of the ingredient list!! Who knew that just shampoo or deodorant could cause someone to have an asthma attack or black out? I'm sorry you went thru that and pray you are doing better!

Bleach is very dangerous, better to use 5% white vinegar to sanitize or disenfect. You can also dilute the white vinegar with water 50/50 mix to sanitize around the house. Another cancer causer that people don't seem to know about is charcoaling, smoking, cooking foods with any kind of wood products!! Charcoal is made of wood, and pellets for your pellet grill are wood. The burning of wood to cook your food causes a carcinogenic reaction. The American Cancer Society used to recommend limiting eating food cooked that way to twice a week, at most. I have not checked lately, as we very seldom eat food cooked that way. Two different doctors confirmed that, so we bought a gas grill, and a griddle. We use those 95% of the time. We've known three different people who consumed BBQ and smoked foods who have died of stomach and/or colon cancer. Please beware!!! Some people grill out all summer and eat that food all week. Dangerous!!!

    All those poor grocery store clerks handling thermal receipts throughout their shifts. Thermal receipt danger is brand new to me. Thank you for that warning.
    Regarding air freshners: I do all sorts of natural freshening at home for a beautiful scent boost.
    1)Simmering cinnamon sticks, cloves, orange and lemon peels on the stove.
    2) growing herbs for home use I leave a few
    bowls of dried rosemary around the house and toss the herb in the bowls which permeates the air for a couple of hours at a time. My visitors love it too.
    3) distill sweet smelling freshly cut herbs in distilled water and mist your homes with it. The scent lightly clings to natural fiber surfaces and linens.
    4) even my double coated dogs who get lots of exercise smell sweet for a week or two as I lightly run a freshly cut branch over just their backs of either rosemary or lemon grass.

    This is a very good video. While in school, many times I complained to the professors about the students wearing perfume that caused too much distress to me, for example, pain in the nose, throat and chest. However, seldom any professor thought about this and took any action. Same thing is true with secondhand cigarette smoke/smell. Students used to smoke heavily and come in the classroom while bringing a very heavy tobacco stench with them. Smoking marijuana has the same problem thanks to Justine Trudeau for legalizing it. Even many shampoos and soaps nowadays has these killer chemicals which make life miserable for people like me. Many westerners prefer to wear strong scents instead of bathing and wearing clean clothes everyday.

I am super allergic to commercial cigarettes, but not cut tobacco, pot or cloves. It's the benzene, arsenic, tar and the like that I am allergic too. And perfume drives me nuts and hurts the glands in my throat. I agree! Take a friggin' shower if you want to smell good, and if you smoke, no amount of perfume nor showering will wash that stench off you.

    This relates to the dangers associated with humidifiers, several years ago my wife went to a nail salon where they soak your feet, they use plastc liners to contain the warm water...unfortunately, the liners get reused and make a wonderful ecosystem for such things as the legionella bacterium, which she contracted by breathing the water vapors, this nasty little organism put her in intensive care for several weeks and then after that, ( for maybe a month) in the regular hospital....it was during covid so only one visitor was allowed, and that was her brother, so i called every night ( I tried to keep it to one call since the RN's and other staff are busy) and quite often, they didn't know if she would make it...total nightmare....T.G....she was able to pull through and is in good health now! We are fortunate we have a world class medical facility in this city...I dont know if a small hospital without certain expertise could have pulled it off...Thank you for your excellent channel.

    Obviously the ideal is to put on full protective gear, including gloves, when you first get up. Breathe through a medical filter. Then do not eat or drink. Don't touch anything. Shower without any soap or body washes, just plain, highly filtered water. Wear clothes that have only been washed in plain water that has not been stored at any stage. Go to bed in the outdoors to avoid any of the millions of toxic chemicals inside - but not near a city, the air would be too polluted. Be careful not to.......oh, forget it.

The air we breathe contains much of what they show here. It seems to just be a scare tactic and to get people who are easily scared frightened and nervous. I'm sure most people have burned candles, especially during the holidays. Did people die from them?

    • @itsnotforourconvenience2990
      @itsnotforourconvenience2990 Před měsícem +1

      The thing is that one item on it's own make not make too much difference, but when you add up the cumulative effect over time of all of the different toxins, that's when the problems begin. It may be some time down the line before you realise that there is a problem, and then by then, it's a bigger problem trying to deal with it. People have to realise, that the "controllers" of this world are hell bent on reducing the numbers! A lot of this begins right at the beginning of a child's life with all the jibby jabbies, if you look at the ingredients that they contain, it easy to see why people are sick, and have long term illnesses/allergies. Why would you want to put mercury, aluminium, formaldehyde, and other ingredients, and inject it into the body of a baby that doesn't have a developed immune system? The farmer industry is the most powerful industry on the planet, and you need sick people to keep giving the meds to, to keep the money rolling in. There's no point being paranoid about it all, we just have to learn to look after ourselves better, and leave their toxic crap on the shelf. I don't believe that it's a scare tactic, it's a very real problem, and these are the tip of the iceberg. We all have to start educating ourselves on what alternatives we can use!

      I put a pot on the stove with filtered water in it. I sprinkle in organic spices like cinnamon, nutmeg and cardamom, and simmer it to humidify the house in winter AND it smells lovely ,like apple pie is baking. Win, win, win. All healthy.

    Best thing for cleaning is a Polti Steamer (or similar brand). I have one, not a hand-held one. It has wheels in the base so it moves easy and the base also holds all the attachments. It cleans hard floors faster than using chemical products. I use it to clean my meat slicer as it blasts out any food debris from tiny spaces and it runs on such high steam pressure, 356 deg F, that any germs are vapourised. Cheap to run too as it works purely with water. I'm asthmatic so don't like scented products or chemicals. My Polti cost £80 (about $95) and has paid itself back at least 3 times over since I got it with the money I've saved by not having to buy chemical cleaners.

    i have disconnected our whole house humidifier, after moving in.. KNOWING for years its full of mold, etc. just unhook it. i removed the power wire and water going to it. just turning it off, at the control, was not enough. just set a bowl of filtered water in a room, etc, it will evaporate over time and keep you a bit more comfy while running the heater.

    Excellent. Thank you for reminding some of us. Kindly comment and elaborate on other household items that are perhaps notoriously hazardous for our health, but unknowingly we often use them in our homes:
    1) Carpets; floor/seat cloth covers; especially in bathrooms;
    2) Children's stuffed/fuzzytoys;
    3) Small children's plastic toys;
    4) Children's painted wooden toys;
    5) Some food preservatives and colourings;
    6) Microwave ovens;
    6) Smoked foods;
    7) GMO foods;
    8) Foil paper;
    9) Air fryers;
    10) Tea bags;
    11) Coffee bags.
    12) Insect repellants (eg, sprays/lotions).
    Kindly elaborate on those items and suggest healthier alternatives.

      Carpets, foam in furniture, even some paints all emit toxic fumes. I can detect fumes that burn my nose while other people "don't smell a thing". Takes years for the fumes to decline. Basically, if it is made by Mankind, it is toxic in some way. I open the windows as much as possible (weather permitting). I don't worry about tea bags. Plastics leach. Drinking from a plastic container, I can feel plastic on the roof of my mouth. You have raised some very sensible questions. Keep looking for research to answer those questions. Good luck!

      Almost all scents in personal and cleaning products are harmful chemicals. The coatings on packaging on microwavable foods, and some regular foods leach plastics, and other harmful chemicals into foods. Fleece clothing and blankets---polyester sheds micro and nano(very small plastic and chemical particles) plastics that are absorbed in lungs and through skin---recent clinical studies show that these nanoparticles can cross into the brain and inside cells affecting mitochondria and cell functions including our DNA---try to eliminate out of wardrobe and use cotton, wool, linen. Eat foods as close to how they are grown, cook at home from scratch and avoid highly processed foods is the easiest way to avoid most toxins. Also carry your own glass or stainless steel water bottle.

    And the people who run the companies that put those chemicals in your products also sit on the board of the directors for the companies selling you the drugs for treatments.
    YOU are a resource of revenue to them.

      No, we can learn and opt to use healthier items. We just need to be aware and make healthier choices. It is not all doom and gloom. This is excellent information. For some of us, it is a reminder. For others, it is new. All in all, I believe it is absolutely necessary knowledge for our well-being.

    Also, never give a child or dog a stuffed animal without washing it first - preferably in natural detergent. Also, while I can't imagine anyone doing this, never wear new clothes without washing them first.
