If you have a growing family but aren't ready to take the minivan route, fear not, there are plenty of three-row SUVs that are capable alternatives. The Hyundai Palisade is one of the best in this class and this year's changes and additions should make it even more attractive. Like the closely related Kia Telluride, the Palisade provides a wealth of interior space for up to eight passengers. It's also similarly easy to drive and gets you a lot of features for the money, while distinguishing itself with a more luxurious style and personality.
The Palisade's softer suspension tuning trades some handling confidence for comfort when compared to the Telluride, but not to the extent that it could be a deciding factor between the two. If you're one of the rare shoppers seeking more driver engagement, the Mazda CX-9 or Volkswagen Atlas may be more to your liking. Compared to other SUVs in the class, the Palisade isn't quite as fuel efficient as the Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander (especially the hybrid Highlander), but when the final scores are tallied, the Hyundai Palisade still comes out on top overall.

I did a test drive on this one, and we are now thinking about purchasing it. I am 5'9, and am happy to report that I didn't notice any blind spots (unlike the Pathfinder). Car safety is number one on my list, and headrests are number two. So this is for the headrest folks out there! The headrest does go up and down, but you can not adjust it forward or backwards (no forward spring). However, this is the first time I have been in a vehicle without that feature that the headrest is comfortable! It is not angled forward at an odd angle, instead it is set up for people who drive using it. I was impressed. So few car reviewers actually point out head rests :D so thought I would drop this here, in case anyone happens to read it.

Heated and cooled front and rear leather seats. Multi zone heating and AC for front and rear passengers. Even an intercom system for the passengers in the far rear seats. I use it for driving Lyft part time and I get lots of love from my passengers. That being said, I do have some concerns about the electronics package, especially the collision avoidance system. It seems to start alerting in situations where I'm not in a parking lot but just in heavy slow traffic as in when I am in the line to drop off a passenger at the airport. This doesn't seem normal to me and have asked the dealer to try a recalibration, but they claim that they do not see the behavior. It's a minor irritant and for now I can live with it.

Hyundai definitely has great styling and tech but I'll never own another one after my 2015 sonata had major drive train problems at just over 50,000 miles that took over 2 months to fix and thankfully were under warranty. My mechanic told me after 6 or 7 years Hyundai develop major expensive problems and boy was he right! Sold that Hyundai as soon as it was fixed and bought a Toyota hybrid Venza that gets 40 to 50+ mpg and rides like a dream.

I have a 4 year old Santa Fe and love this vehicle, but I do have one complaint about a Hyundai feature which is available on every one of their vehicles. It's Blue Link.
    The downside of Blue link-
If you buy a new Hyundai you have blue link for 3 years, after that you pay by "levels".
The 1st level is Connected Care. It includes accident notification, etc. The 2nd is remote start/climate control. The 3rd is maps.
Here is the completely absurd part. You must purchase these levels ONE AT A TIME starting from #1 for $100 per year.
My experience: I only wanted/needed remote start. So I HAD to purchase level 1 & 2 for $200 per year to get this feature. Big fail Hyundai!

Mommy wants to sit next to baby, and then 4 year old is in the 3rd row which kills storage because you need to bring the stroller and baby bag(s). Looking to sell off our 2021 Kia telluride SX. Basically, unless we are supplementing oil between changes, it will go bone dry by the next oil change. Hyndai says the oil consumption is within spec. Unless you like having to fill oil in a luxury car like it's it's clunker, have at it. Would not recommend this SUV as the oil issue is common.

I just hope for everyone's sake Hyundai/Kia has finally gotten their engines figured out. My little Elantra GT had the most intuitive and efficient controls I've ever seen in a car. Far better than our Honda's nightmarish layout. But getting told it needs a new engine under warranty and that it may not fix the problem as the parts have not been revised was pretty disappointing. They've had quite their share of engine woes. Here's hoping that changes. There are some cost saving measures on the Telluride/Palisade, if you check the control arms, pretty sure they're still stamped steel on these rather than the ritzier forged aluminum you'd find on an SUV by toyota, honda, ford, VW, even nissan.
I'm interested in the Tucson hybrid myself. But there's also the RAV4 hybrid that's only $1k more and I don't think anyone would argue against who has more hybrid experience. And it gets better fuel economy. And the engine isn't turbocharged. Ok so I may end up with a RAV4.
