After much deliberation and thinking, I've decided to go ahead and continue the Executions Graded series. We're moving on to Valkyrie. Let's find out how our favorite warrior muscle momma does in her grading!

So, I don’t know if you knew this but the Get to the Chopper execution didn’t actually decapitate at first! The spear tip just slit the throat.
Something similar happened with Shaolin’s head stomping execution too. Originally that one didn’t eviscerate as well.
Why did Ubi feel the need to do this?

It would get the three points for Realism it was missing if Ubisoft didn't meddle with it. Even I was annoyed when they made that change.

I feel like her executions are pretty solid going solely off of memory and trying to remember what her executions are. I think it will be an 80%

I feel that Sportive Knockout should have earned a higher efficiency score because while the spear is not intended to be used that way, she
1. Swung it around her body, keeping opponents from attacking her, which you have used as a metric for grading efficiency in the past.
2. Secured the kill, regardless of how incorrectly she used the spear.
3. Took less time then the majority of her other executions to secure the kill.
4. While she did put the shield on her back, she still has easy access to it, and when you graded the Shield Toss execution, you gave it a 4 for efficiency despite her throwing the shield away.
I think the spear in "Get to the Chopper" is supposed to be a reference to the main rotor blades of a Bell UH-1 Huey, which was used in the movie Predator. And the name of the execution might be the only reference to ArnoldSchwartzenegger's line in the movie.

A spear with a longer leaf like blade that was used for cutting as well as stabbing...
They even made the spear in a way that the tip of the spear was removable, so it could be used as a dagger/short sword!

One more comment to boost the algorithm. Maybe. Really looking forward to Nobushi's executions grading. From memory, she has my favorite execs, but this might just be my bias
I would like to point one two things you forgot or didn't consider in your grading. All her executions when she slides the spear through all body should lose a point in efficiency, because by doing that she stain her grip with blood and possibly guts etc. On a battlefield situation, doing something like this will make her grips more unsure on the spear, because now she has liquid all over, something you don't want, you want your grip to be as firm as possible, not having the hand slipping because of the blood and guts she put on.
Secondly, something you didn't mention on the "baseball batt" execution is that... A spear handle isn't that solid. The concept of a spear is to be an efficient, cheap weapon. But the stick isn't made at all to take such a blow. With such a blow, there's huge risk the spear just break in half, leaving her without any weapon at all.

Uh…have you ever used a spear before? Those shafts are incredibly durable. You could strike full on with a greatsword and maybe take a quarter inch off one at best. Baseball bat swinging like Valk does isn’t particularly smart because it’s predictable, telegraphed, and impossible to measure; but unless you made the spear at home out of absolutely garbage wood (rotten, waterlogged, or softwood) then there’s no risk of that shaft breaking.
I know her scores won’t be too great. She still my favorite since the beta. Can’t wait for your breakdowns.

Valkyrie's spear is clearly a partisan, or something similar... the head is very large and wide. Complaining that someone cuts with a spear is like complaining that someone is thrusting with falchion or something. Its more focused on cuts, instead of thrusts, but you still CAN.

I honestly think there should be another criteria of "how scared would you be, as a warrior seeing this happen!" Like...I've watched all of these videos most of them multiple times to help me pick out executions I want that are cool and when talking about this...some of these can be scary to watch on the outsiders perspective!
If I may, I looked into þe change to “No Touching!” and, if memory serves, Ubisoft didn’t change it due to any fan backlash - in fact, I couldn’t FIND any fan backlash. Raþer, Ubisoft changed it because For Honor is rated M for “Blood and Gore, Intense Violence,” wiþ no rating for sexual content, which No Touching changed. If Ubisoft had left þe execution as it was, þey may have needed to have For Honor re-rated, which could’ve potentially caused a few problems.
I’m not defending þis by any means; I still find it foolish þat it made it into þe full game before getting noticed, and þe current No Touching will forever be a disappointment, but I can understand why þey changed it, and it was certainly NOT fan backlash. Almost NOBODY complains about sexism/racism/general lack of wokeness in For Honor. I checked.
Maybe so. But I still argue that accidental boob grabbing is harmless in this context, especially since the victim gets punished for it.
It wouldn't have caused the game to be re-rated. The tag for sexual content is reserved for more overt content. The grab would have been fine. More likely it was the Tracer scenario again, either someone on the team or a few people online complained and it ended up getting changed.
Trick shot seems like a reference to one of the moves Brad Pitt does as Achilles during his fight with Hector in the movie “Troy” where he puts the spear behind his back and holds the shield in front of him and thrusts at Hector who blocks the attack.
You know how the executions are in Order to which ones youve unlocked so the ones before the Basic execs are purchased? So that means raven has indeed purchased the no touching execution despite his hate for it. Also some execs are probs meant to be nonlethal which I really like
I purchased the execution before they changed it. I was devastated when they took it away. So no, I did not buy an execution I hate. It was stolen.
And I’m glad you like executions that don’t kill. I personally don’t, but we’re all entitled to our opinions.
@@RavenKnightYT I'd argue that she moved the shield in the way in the new version making her more efficient, and warden reacted the way he did because of where he would have grabbed otherwise, but still wasn't a needed change.
funny enough when they changed valk's execution im pretty sure they labelled it as a bug fix in the patch notes
I will argue that for judgment call, one can tell she very much aims for the center mass/head, but the opponent blocks it with their hands and it offsets the trajectory of the spear. In this case it works in her favor by pinning the hands, but I like that the resistance of the opponent delays their inevitable death
So a spear isn't just meant as a puncturing weapon, that would be the pike, a spear is both meant as a means to punture and to swing. In sense its made to be used like a rapier and a staff.

I'm tight because Get To The Chopper used to just slit the throat. But there was a solid 5 month period where they went on this weird decapitation binge XD every new execution cut the head off and they wet back and made some old ones cut the head off.

Hey Raven, I was curious to ask. There was a prior post where you said that you would possibly be of interest of making a Deadliest Warrior video involving the For Honor Heroes. I was curious outside of the primary weapons that the Heroes use, will you use secondary weapons that come from feats? For example, Centurion's Dagger, The Samurai's Yumi Bow and Arrow, Gladiator's Bolas, etc?

No touching would be a 3 in lethality if everyone wasnt wearing helmets, pure metal colliding with what looks like the side of the head, he might live
Same for get off, in fact more so, youre applying alot of force to a solid object ontop of someones head, if you place like a brick on someones head and absolutely stomped onto into, regardless of the use of a shield, it would still kill you 100%.. if warden didnt have a helmet.

I’m surprised you only gave Trick Shot a 3 out of 4 for Cool Factor. I would have given it a four because this move is a definite movie reference. It’s a reference to 2004’s “Troy” where Achilles does this exact same move in his fight with Hector. Sure, Hector blocks it, but it’s still the exact same technique.
By that logic I should give “Get to the Chopper,” a 4 because it references Predator.
I don’t give cool points based on references. I just was not as impressed by the execution.

Has anyone realized Cent is the polar opposite of Valk? Like look at it like this:
Cent: Exes include dismemberment whether it be arm or a decapitation. Heavy attacks are stabs meanwhile his lights are slashes. Does not use a shield, prefers using his fist and legs to take down opponents. Has very strong armor and a small, short ranged weapon.
Valk: Very little dismemberment in and executions. Heavy attacks are slashes whilst lights are stabs. Only uses her shield and spear rather than using her arms or legs(sadly). Has armor that isn’t great for protection. And finally a very long ranged weapon.
Listen to the monologue at the end with shut eyes and think of the words as codewords for other stuff
if you look at get to the chopper closely it don't even hit the neck it gets like the ears
I heard they changed the chest grab exe cause the rating for the game didnt include sexual content, so it was either reanimate the exe or change the game rating which must be a near impossible process.
Yeah, at least what I hear. Changing the rating would require to recall physical copies of the game.

17:01 My only gripe with this rating is that she could've bashed Warden in the face. Heavy helmet getting hit by a buckler is sure to go cause some brain damage (or a concussion considering padding) and that'd be a quicker opening for the lethal strike.

Imagine it starts with a stab into the gut or chest, Valk pulls the spear back but the still alive enemy holds on(for whatever reason), so, Valk repeatedly headbutts them until they die and she can pull the spear out, or they Fall off the spear. I think it would've been cooler, plus the efficiency may have gone up(though idk what Raven would think about the efficiency) and lethality could be been a 4, cuz not only are they concussed and probably have brain damage, but they also have a Deep stab wound in either their gut or chest.

Yeah to be honest, doing executions with a spear would be difficult to make each one unique. Still, it was what I kind of expected for the score.
I'd say when it comes to Val pushing her spear all the way through someone is not smart, blood is very slick and would most likely make her drop her spear or have her hand move up and down the spear shaft.
I feel like with breaking the neck, wouldnt it paralyze the person? Maybe it wouldnt kill right away, but if they cant move wouldnt they no longer be a threat?
The term “execution” implies the end result is death. So if the enemy is not dead, it loses points.

I think the second would have worked better if she wretched the spear in a way that causes the victim to expose their neck more while reacting to the pain. After which she'd summarily stomp on it once or twice to crush the windpipe.
Regarding the shield bash in “No touching". I think there's two major issues. One, she only hits the victim in the head once compared to some of the bash kills from gladiator and the one from warlord which have more hits. Say what one will about those but multiple hits to the head makes more sense if you're going to try killing with shield bashes. Second issue is it being strapped imo. I believe that causes the strike to be weaker/slower for some reason compared to center grip but I can't put exact words to it. Think I'll have to re-watch Thegn Thrand's comparison video between viking shield and spartan shield. Even then, might be a counter argument to that one.
As for cutting with the spear. On one hand, vikings did have hewing spears. Therefore one could argue that's indeed what she is using here. HOWEVER, most of the time she is doing that with one hand and I highly doubt one could keep precision in those cuts with one hand that far down the shaft. Even moreso with that decapitation. I don't buy that for a second even with a two-handed cut.

At blow my horn you said a spear is trusting weapon. This is mostly true but she is clearly using a hewing spear which actuely has propper edges to cut with, sow eventhough I do agree with you trusting is the better choose cutting is not of the table for valk. I personaly just hate that her heavy's are cut's and her lights are trust. They should have used quick slising cut's as her lights and big powerfull fullbody trusts for her heavy's a bit like cent. Sow the cut's in her excutions don't bother me the thing I'm more botherd about is that the spear is getting true people, cause she has wings on her spears which are there to limit over pentration by bassicly stopping at the wings. Techniekly any excution where the spear goes true past the wings should be seen as unrealistic to a degree, cause that's just not happing. Hell with wings like that it should stop a charging bore from compleetly running it's self true sow how are you gone compleetly run a human true with one-handed trusts? Also only very heavy concusions can break the brain's structure, it doesn't turn into liqued it turns into a thick soup. Compare it to turning a meatball into goulash. sportif knock-out wouldn't have bin able to do that cause spears don't have enough mass to give that heavy of a concusion to people. At most she would have broken his noise in real life and maby she could have knocked him out, but I would even question that. 😅 Poleaxes are a different beast though there heavy as f*ck and you would defenitly abliterate skulls with a hammer strike like that. I will give it this if she used the edge instead then I would almost have believed a beheading if she swong a hewing spear like that. I actuely am trained with these weapons ravin I know how they handel and what they could do, that's why I have bin giving my remarks on these things. Overal I agree with you and I also compliment you if you have everything right, I know I might sound all negatieve, but I'm not trying to be. Notice everything I diden't meantion that's cause I agreed with you on those points.
I would like to say that if we take thé Factor of being in a Battlefield, you would not do any solo exécution, since first you fight in formation, and second, you execut people when it is ended, for safety, most of the for honor execution are more credible in a duel at death, that said, good video

You keep saying that “a neck break is not necessarily lethal”. So what? You render your opponent incapacitated, it doesn’t matter if it’s fully lethal or not. This is the medieval age, any incapacitating strike is going to be lethal in the end since medical technology isn’t advanced enough to save the person. They’re still out of the fight permanently, whether they actually die or not makes little difference.
Also, you really keep riffing on Valk using the spear like a quarter staff rather than as a spear. You can absolutely use it as a bludgeon the way Valkyrie does, you don’t need to use it exclusively as a thrusting weapon. There are spear types which as exclusively designed solely for piercing (look up a Pilum or a Ranseur for examples of these), however, the type of spear which Valkyrie is using here -long wide blade with a wide guard made for catching blades and to PREVENT the blade from going too deep-, which looks to be either a half pike or a customized boar spear, is a type designed specifically for SLASHING. Not all spears were made for the same thing.

Seeing Valkyrie’s executions makes me think they came after Nobushi’s and the dev team thought they could get away with doing the same shit with her that they did with Nobushi. The key difference being, a Naginata has a good balance of stabbing AND slashing while a spear is pure stabbing with very minimal potential for slashing.
They also removed the boobs grabbing because in the games ratings there us nothing labeling it as having anything sexual so it could have caused legal problems
The grab wouldn't have counted for needing a sexual content label. Generally it would be things that are more overt. If she was inviting the enemy to do so or if there was more of a focus on the grab, ie caressing, then it would have warranted a label.
As it was initially it would have been fine. My guess is a higher up didn't like it or one person complained. Similar situation with what happened to one Of Tracer's poses in Overwatch.
I think you are mixing up lethality and efficiency. Each score should be independent, and yet you rank otherwise very efficient finishers lower because they didn't score high in lethality. You also seem to mix efficiency with cool factor, where an inefficient use of a weapon is inherently less cool
I think you're letting your bias toward some executions get in the way of some of their ratings. I have seen you give higher lethality scores for hitting someone in the face than No Touching, and she hits them more in the side of the head in that one than in the face. Then you proceeded to give a stomp and a couple of headbutts a higher score. You even gave so many reasons why the shield stomp may have killed with a higher score, despite the No Touching punch seeming much more lethal than the shield stomp or the headbutts due to the angle she hits him. By no means is it a good execution, but I still feel it was much more lethal than the other two, and should have at least had a 2 in lethality. It would be great if you use logic for one execution, the same logic should be used for similar executions.

Is it better at Rep 6 and up? because I have her a Rep 4 and I'm kinda disappointed like the rest of the Vikings.
@@ZacharyDarkes Yes cause you gotta unlock all armors before you settle on a look you want to keep. Also you have to be way better at customization for the viking faction if you want good results.
@@psychoseth1643 I already have characters past Rep 8 I just don't have any Vikings with legendary because every time I see a high Viking I just think the fashion looks lame so I never really bothered with the Vikings.

The changed execution is so stupid to me, like sure it's sexual and all those points people made, but the person doing it literally gets killed a second after... Like if you had a problem with warden grabbing booba then you should be fine with it because he feckin dies lmao
