Rev’it Poseidon 3 Gore-Tex Jacket & Pants - are they actually waterproof? 💦

- So, I’m off on a trip to the Alps and Pyrenees - I’ve invested in a quality textile jacket and pants combo. But are they waterproof?
Well spoiler alert - they are! But my previous kit had a Gore-Tex Z liner which whilst it kept you dry on the inside, the suit itself wetted out. Which made it heavy, cold and a bugger to dry out.
This suit is Gore-Tex laminated L2 and 3 so I’m hoping it doesn’t do that - like water off a ducks back.
I’ll do a full review on my trip but for now this is just a wet weather test.
WARNING - contains scenes of extremely wet riding which some riders might find distressing! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Thanks for providing a real world test of wet weather riding.
Laminated jackets need a warm feather type jacket underneath to maintain warmth esp in wet weather as rain will cool you plus the weather temp
I think I really need to invest in some proper wet weather gear too.
Excellent video 👍🏻👍🏻
Cheers 👍. It’s a chunk of cash but after the month we’ve just had I thought I’d finally bite the bullet. 👍
I went to my local Sportsbikeshop to try this suit out and i loved it, Fit and finish was top notch and loved the looks too. Just placed my order and expecting it to arrive tomorrow. I ordered the exact same colour as yours so look out for your twin on a Tracer 9 GT
Talk about irony! I bought this specifically for a 2 week tour through the Alps and Pyrenees. The weather was so good I ended up not taking it. Anyway it’s still a great suit and I’m sure there’ll be sterner tests ahead this winter!
what about your gloves m8?
@7:05 I disagree. I am 5'9 and I got a revit defender 2 set, some 4 years ago. I got the short pants first in size L and I had to send them back and get the regular. The shorties would lift over my short alpinestars boots when sitting on the bike. Maybe I have long legs for my height, who knows. Anyway, waiting now for the Poseidon 3 set (watching reviews as I am waiting for it :) ) and I guess I'll see if they fit.
Brilliant review! Thank you for sharing!
I'm in between the Defender 3 & the Poseidon 3 but I'm not sure to fully understand how's the vent work on the Poseidon if this is a laminated fabric... Does it mean that the Gore-Tex layer sits behind the vent and sort of blocking the airflow? Or is the Gore-Tex layer sits on the top so the vent can air flow in right into the mesh and straight into the skin?
The flap is backed with Goretex and when it’s zipped down it’s totally waterproof. But when it’s open and clipped up there’s just mesh and so lots of air comes through. It’s a great system 👍
@@spodokomoto5020 Awesome! Thank you!
Thank you for this video. I had the Poseidon 1, and I’m curious about the 3rd gen. Would love to hear more. A quick question for you. Do you find water leaking through the 2 vertical vents in the rear?
I’ve only done this wet weather ride - which was pretty wet! But the suit was totally waterproof - no leaks anywhere. 👍
I think in wet weather with laminated jackets the vents need to be closed as the venting is direct.
What kind of gloves you’re wearing??
They’re by Rev’it - my go to winter gloves - not too bulky and waterproof. 👍

@@spodokomoto5020 . Thanks 🙏
I've been thinking a lot about XC lately, but the questions is - how's the heat from high pipe? Input will be greatly appreciated
It’s not really an issue and certainly not a reason to not buy the bike. The only time you notice it is in traffic on a hot day - but it’s not a big deal. I’ve just ridden mine across 6 countries in pretty hot weather and it was brilliant - check out my insta page. I usually change my bike every couple of years but I honestly can’t think of another bike I’d rather have.
Need to work Mon you ums. Um. Um. 😂
