- In this episode of The Lateral Line, the boys return to the harbour with their new dinghy.
The initial outing with the little boat was primarily about acquainting themselves with their new boat rather than a focused fishing mission. However, in just a couple of hours on the water and a stroke of luck, Milan managed to reel in a sizable kingfish.
With Christmas approaching and a craving for festive kingfish, Milan sets out to challenge himself, aiming to once again reel in a reasonable kingfish from the dinghy in the harbour. Can Milan do it again?

I personally love small boat fishing. Seems to give a greater sense of connection with the environment, perhaps vulnerability...? A bit more work? I haven't owned bigger boats like you fellas, but I like the minimalist approach and minimal effort required with a wee boat. Looking forward to seeing the new build though, that's for sure! Thanks for sharing the year on The Lateral Line time line. It's been a pretty full on one for you guys. Can't wait for the '24 episodes with a new boat n truck builds coming...🎣
Little boats are definitely easier in some ways, launching, retrieving, towing cleaning ect and I totally understand your comment around being more connected. But, a big boat is a lot more comfortable, more room for more gear, smother riding and you can get out of the weather a bit ect and all that makes a day on the water easier 😁 really looking forward to going a bit further with the new boat 😎
Never get sick of these videos on Tauranga Harbour, especially the Bowenton end. Cannot mistake Anzac bay there. That end of the harbour as a kid is where i cut my teeth fishing, More so Kauri Point jetty, pretty muched lived on that as a kid/teenager when i lived near there

the mini scissor joint bunk tails are genius for shallow water landing - don't have dunk the wheel bearings in the salt either- that's great!

By having a break also gives the big kingys and snappers,deer,pigs,kawai,(both your arms being stretched from big kingys on mulitple occasions)and what ever else is targeted a breather as well haha, look forward to seeing what happens in 2024 for the lateral line

Dinghy’s are a very effective way to fish a harbour 😎 the lunch box is called a bento box 👍 some Milan picked up after living in Japan for a couple years 😁 chur chur
