- Black and White conversion is an art and in this video, we are going to explore 4 kick-ass techniques to create brilliant and detailed black and whites in Photoshop. Learn how to manipulate each color and bring out the drama with special effects.
In this tutorial, we are going to touching upon the techniques to use the Black & White adjustment layer along with levels and curves for added effects. We will go in-depth into how each slider affects the luminosity of each color.
Next, we will learn how to use the targeted adjustment tool in Adobe Camera RAW to control the luminosity visually without touching any sliders. This is one of the quickest, efficient, and intuitive ways to create black and white images.
Then, we will understand how the channel mixer works and how can we use that for the same. Though the channel mixer requires more skills, it does have an advantage that it doesn't lead to banding or breaking of pixels
Last but not the least, we will create dynamic Black and White Images by combining Channels and Using Calculations in Photoshop. It is one the fastest, unconventional, and cool method which I'm sure you will enjoy.

Agreed. I am thankful for your tutorials. This recording was not so good this time. It's packed with so much information and knowledge but for some reason, the video want rendered or something. I'm sorry it's such a long video to record but I hope you are able to reproduce this video and the output not be so choppy and at times stop. Audio is great, video refresh rate was poor. Try recording it again because the video froze so often, you couldn't see any changes.

Unwatchable on iPad also.
Even the recording on CZcams stutters & misses several frames, especially on the before & after comparisons at around 6 to 7 minutes in. I t may have got better later, I don't know. I gave up watching at that point. I have tried replaying on a Mac, iPhone & iPad. The results are the same.

Hi. What is the best monitor for Windows desktop. I built a high end desktop. Currently using a 32"HD TV. Not very happy with it. So I want a good monitor. Please suggest. BenQ 2700 vs Dell P2715Q. Or any other 4k UHD monitor.
There is a relationship between RGB's channels 6:3:1 (luminosity) and you have to used this in the Channel Mixer, then use Curves Tool over it. You are completly wrong in your BW Art. There are FOUR channels in RGB Mode. PiXi Ipmerfect :)
Black & White mix is greyed out on every colour image that I have tried this on? any ideas. FYI using a MAC
