  • @ashleyvincentphotography8266

    Thank you for sharing your knowledge Unmesh! I’ve been learning from a handful of other top notch Photoshop teachers over the past year or so, and thought I’d at least heard of (if not yet mastered!) pretty much all techniques for retouching. Then a friend introduced me to you and in just this one video you’ve demonstrated a few completely new techniques to me as well as a number of variations of ones I was aware of that will now undoubtedly improve my retouching and speed up my workflow. Many thanks and keep up the great work :)

    Liked! Just a couple details.... You can just click twice on the layer (outside the name) to open the "blend if" dialog box. Also, in the frequency separation example, you used blend mode subtract in apply image step. The example was a 16bit image so you should have used the blend mode "add", with 2 and 0 parameters and check "invert". You might not notice, but it makes a diference, because the color space in 16 bits is diferent from 8 bit.

    Just as an FYI, Adobe did not have time to implement "smart filters" in the CS6 final release. To convince yourself of this, open PS CS6 and create a smart-object. Go to the "Filter" tab and you'll notice that a number of options are grayed out. If you go down to "Blur" and select the sub-menu, you will notice that "Field Blur," "Iris Blur," and "Tilt-Shift Blur" are grayed out.
    As you know, it is still possible to accomplish the effect by duplicating the smart-object (CTRL-J); right clicking on the new layer and selecting "Rasterize Layer," adding an "Invert" adjustment layer; and, if compositing, perhaps also turning the adjustment layer into a clipping mask.

  • @marycook1673
    @marycook1673 Před 6 lety

    Love your videos, but unfortunately, I'm using Photoshop CS4 (WIN 7) and wondered if/what the workaround for INVERT IMAGE would be. I have tried CONTROL I and went to the IMAGE > ADJUSTMENTS but the INVERT is greyed out. I am trying this on the smart object layer.

    • @larsmichael7162
      @larsmichael7162 Před 5 lety

      For CS6, the trick is to invert first, then convert to smart object. You can use Unmesh's script, you just need to move the invert step above the "create smart object" step.

    When I apply the C shape and increase the gaussian blur radius of the white fill, the white just seems to decrease in opacity without rounding the corners and there is always a faint line. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

    • @jazbose9164
      @jazbose9164 Před 2 lety

      I think you're applying gaussain blur before deselecting the *c* shape selection, same mistake was occurred to me also, i was applying blur after ctrl+h, which just hides the selection, then i realized & fixed it.

      You have to use the Adjustment layers for Invert. That's at the bottom of the Layer's Panel. Be sure to clip it to the layer you want to invert.
