@@carlosm.3426You speak as if you know all the food in India. What you see in Indian restaurants is North Indian food(stuff like Butter chicken, naan, etc), sometimes West Indian(like Pav bhaji) and a little bit of South(Dosa, Idli, Sambar, etc). Where is Northeast Indian food to be seen outside of India? I am still waiting for people to know our Northeast Indian food.

I’m a Mexican American whose parents lived in Hawaii for several years before I was born. I grew up eating Japanese and Mexican food but I didn’t try Indian food till I was in college and it was like a revelation. There are so many similar flavor profiles between Mexican and Indian food so eating curry for the first time felt like a warm hug from a long lost relative. I make Indian dishes twice a month and would make it weekly if my brother who lives with me liked curry. I’m trying to find a dish he might like besides naan but so far I haven’t been successful but his kids devour Indian food when I make jt. He’s more into East Asian flavors so that’s the kind of food I usually make him but I’m open to any suggestions of what I can make him. I was lucky to visit Mexico City a couple of years and went absolutely ballistic eating the street food and the high end stuff as well. So much diversity, just like our food. Someday, I hope someone opens up an Indian restaurant that has a little bit of every region in the country on its menu. The food from South, East and Northeastern India is so different from the butter chicken, tikka masalas etc. which are typically from North India. All the same, I'm glad the senoras enjoyed their outing, lovely to see them enjoy, compare and contrast Indian and Mexican food.

@@SantanaD-bi2mr Exactly Tortillas doesn't resemble to Rotis or our authentic home-cooked chapatis in any way. Tortillas are made from corn which could be compared to "MAKKE KI ROTI" and we all know in India, Nobody, literally nobody in India eats Makke ki roti (Corn breads or tortillas) on regular basis. Perhaps, His wife keeps cooking tortillas every single day for him & now he has forgotten the tastes of Rotis/Chapatis & has started resembling their taste with Tortillas lol. That's what happens when you forget about your roots. 😂

@@Goji_Bear Roti/Chapati is made of Wheat Flour, not white flour (which is just refined wheat flour). And also the technique of cooking Roti/Chapati is different from Tortillas. Rotis/Chapatis are puffed on Tava (kind of pan), just like Puris (made of wheat flour) and Bhaturas (made of Flour) are puffed by deep frying. Tortillas are not puffed.
