As a Nigerian, whatever they gave them as Ogbono , is definitely not ogbono. Ogbono is very slimy, that’s not it

So I've watched both the Mexican dads and moms tasting video, and I've gotta say, the look of the ogbono and eguisi soups in both were not impressive at all. When Nigerians are inviting foreigners to taste our dish, we try to make it as best of the quality as possible so that they're having a proper experience while deciding if the food is for them or not. And these soups didn't look like a good representation of both soups, especially for an international audience like this. Maybe that wouldn't have made a difference in the opinions in either video because everyone's taste bud is different, and cultural diversity plays a factor, but I would've preferred we put our best foot forward. Big-ups to the tasters in both videos. The energy, open-mindedness, and respect for respect was evident. 👍🏼

That egusi soup looks like an atrocity. Egusi is a very nice soup with vibrant colours. This looks nothing like it Ogbono soup is slimy, more slimy than okro. But what is this?

Monica, you are invited to the cookout anytime! Your elation to the food made my heart swell up and my memories of people stopping by our house just to see what my Mama was cooking that day. This included workers from the USPS, electric company gas company, all of them. Lots of services were delayed because their workers were eating in our kitchen instead of heading out to their sites. The word got around to their coworkers too. Back then, inviting a stranger in to eat was just normal and safer too. No one left without a good meal, and an extra plate to take with them. I miss you, Mama! Rest in Paradise.

Mexican cuisine and soul food have a lot in common, just like Mexican culture and Black culture. My friend brought some Pozole from his abuelita for me to try, and it gave me the same warm and cozy feeling when I ate it like when I eat my own family's comfort food . ❤❤
