Always load the bezel in first without the bezel insert. That way you can align the 12:00 triangle on the insert so it lines up perfectly when you turn the bezel right and lock it in place. You have many triangles off center due to an improper install like he did in this video. Everything else he did was fine minus this critical step.
How much would a blue bezel be for the 41mm thanks 4 the info I never new the bezel can be chsnged
Sir...I'd like to thank you VERY much for this superb video. I knocked the bezel off my Rolex Submariner by banging it against my refrigerator door (OK...don't ask). I snapped the bezel back on...but didn't have the one-way ratcheting feature. I watched your video and discovered I was missing the tiny wire spring. Miracle of miracles...I actually found the spring inside my refrigerator where I banged the bezel off. That is one TINY spring...but I managed to get it back in the hole...and snapped the bezel back on as you described. BINGO...my watch now works perfectly...many thinks to you! Cheers!
Me too, I knocked one off about 30 years and some local watchmaker replaced it, never noticed until now I'm also missing the spring, ( doesn't click ) I never wear it but looking lately just because of the value of the older ones.
I was able to put my bezel back on after accidentally popping it off. Super helpful to have this how to vid...thanks!!
Thanks a lot, mine just popped off and thanks to your video I was able to re-trace my steps & find the bezel spring, which I had failed to notice when I picked up the bezel. Now it’s all cleaned & back in place. Winner 😅
I enjoyed this video but the problem is i dont even have a submariner.
But you do now have a new subscriber.
Thank dude! very useful video...
wow...that was both amazing and educational....cool stuff.
Polar Roller amazing comment. Thanks so much 🙏🏻🍻
Great video. I don’t have the courage to try this yet out i will eventually!
Great video, I have not tried swapping the insert on any of my pieces but Ihave seen it done without removing the washer or click spring.
Hi Adrian. Great video, much appreciated. Have you got a link to your preferred bezel insert shop? On the lookout for a green one, but want the right shade. Thanks.
Thanks for that,, my bezel had got stuck and after watching you vid ,, i took it apart, cleaned out the dirt and re attached,, all good,, tho putting that little spring back in place caused a few profanities haha ,,cheers
Hello Adrien are you aware if the after market green bezel insert will fit on a 1997 rolex 14060, as im thinking of changing the look and playing around, thank you.
Great video, you make that job look easy! I would love to change mine, can you tell us where the replacement came from and what was the cost please?
best advice! Thank you
Thanks for the video! I love your aftermarket green aluminum bezel, where can I get the same one? I’m ok with it being non authentic but just needs to fit and look the part :) this could really spice up my 16610!!
Wow I’m tempted to get the 16610ln and get a green bezel 🤔
DO IT!
Did you do it
I'd be terrified to try this lol
Great video Adrian. Would like to know where to get a high quality bezel insert in the correct green and marker colors for a Hulk 116610LV. Anyone know a good option?
Hi, I need to change a crystal gasket on a Daytona. However I'm scared of snapping the ceramic bezal when I remove it. Also with lining up the etched rolex crown in the crystal. So you have any tips?
Quality demo
Hi there, will it work the same way on the gold bezel of a 16613, which is softer than stainless steel? My pearl crystal broke and I got a new OEM bezel and want to exchange it! Best regards!
After 20 years of owning from new, my bezel, insert, spring and spring washer disappeared. I wear my Sea Dweller 24/7, diving, motorcycling, workshop, office, bed... so no idea where the bits went or why/how. So, can you suggest how I lost them, but more importantly where to get replacements? (I have a theory that mechanics hand cleanser which contains abrasive beads, worked its way between the bezel and case so that it "un-clicked". What do you think?
Cool vid. I need to replace the Lume Pip on my Rolex Submariner. Any tips please?
Nice vid! Always wanted to know how it’s done.
Thanks Steven. 👍🏻
Really well made video. I cannot afford a real submariner, so I just bought some regular watch that's similar and ordered a green bezel to replace it. The system is different. In my watch the bezel insert is glued, lol, and I'm looking for which glue to use. Thanks for the video.
Is the bezel changing possible with a Tudor Black Bay? I Have the Steel one and i want to have the option to change with the red colord bezel or the Black one and the green :)
My insert fell off one night I left it on while sleeping and the watch just came back from Rolex servicing. Messaged them and they said that I must carry it to a watch smith to have it put back on. I live in the caribbean and it went to service in florida. My question , can I put it back on without removing the bezel?
Are the unidirectional bezels made of white gold or stainless? Just picked up a no date and this was a question I had
where do you get your bezels from?
You make this look so simple....really tempted to try it on my 16600 Sea Dweller. Give it a Kermit style green bezel 🐸
If you dont degrade part... its funny .. but no leave original parts for guard value of your watch
I bought a 2nd hand submariner from a what seemed like a reputable dealer and I noticed after I took it home the bezel is too tight but comes loose around the 2 o'clock mark. Also, when you shake it it sounds like something is loose inside it like a tiny piece of metal. I don't know what to do. Any help is appreciated.
Hi. Is there any wobble or play on the 12 and 6 o’clock?
Is that same way for the 126610 2023 to change it thks
Hi......was that watch originally a hulk mariner? Or was it bought original with black face green bezel? . Nice vid
Hei.
Where didd you buy this part from?
Nice
is it ceramic or film bezel that you change on this vdo clip?
I have a Movado series 800 and I hate the bezel and cant return it. where do you order the bezel parts from ? Thank you.
Hello, pls let me know from where I can buy a Bezel Insert for my blue Tudor Pelagos?
Thanks
nice video
Thanks very much.
Where did You buy your aftermarket bezel? I'd also like to protect my genuine one.
Brave soul! do you mind sharing the outer and inner diameter of the bezel insert?
how do you make sure the triangle is perfectly aligned with the triangle hour marker
Thank you for the formidable explanation. Is it the same procedure with the Glycine Combat Sub ?
you have a rep im sorry
HELLO'
DO YOU HAVE SOME VIDEOS ON HOW TO INSTALL ROLEX ACRYLIC CRYSTAL CASE #1675??( EASY BRITTLE OR DAMEGE') DOES NEED A SPECIAL DIES??.
THANKS RALPH.
Is the is same for a Rolex Deepsea?
Great video, where did you get your insert from, thinking about doing what you did with your LV. Kind regards from Bonnie Scotland 🏴
Did you find a good after market supplier ?
Looks all very smooth...
I guarantee that if I would try this, the spring would jump away and will never be found back again.
Not to mention the scratches and dents I probably create on the watch housing itself...
Maybe its clear I wouldnt try this myself;)
May i know where i can buy a bezel?
Do you think I should get a black submariner and just get a green bezel for it
Anyone know how to remove a 79230 bezel? I’d love to swap out some colors and possibly a GMT bezel
nice vid, where do you get the bezels and it would have been great to hear a little but about the quality/differences of the aftermarket bezels vs the originals. Thanks.
Thanks very much for watching. I buy my bezel inserts from cousinsuk.com. Quality wise, there really isn't much difference between a real and aftermarket insert. The pip is sightly different and font, but build wise, they are the same. Maybe the printing on the official bezel is slightly better.
On the question of After market bezels, I've been on the search for one for my 16610, but i have noticed most sellers selling AM bezels stated that a small amount of adhesive or glue is needed. I don't know about everyone else but putting glue or adhesive on a Rolex is stupid and sounds like the bezels aren't made to a high quality. ( SO my question is can anyone recommend a good reliable supplier of AM bezels in the UK that will fit snug like the authentic ones do "NO GLUE or ADHESIVE" Thanks
Great video! How do you feel about using aftermarket bezel inserts? You don't feel like you are cheating on the quality by a large degree? I would be tempted to get the Kermit look (love the green against black) without buying that 50year anniversary model. Where would I be able to find replacement bezel inserts?
I personally would not. You spend 10 to 15k on a watch you can afford $300 for a real Rolex bezel insert. You look at it all day long.
What material is it made of please?
Great vid!!!!!!

Where can I buy bezels ?
WARNING: my 2018 sub has four spring button locations: 1, 4, 7, 10 o'clock locations. if you pry at 7 o'clock as recommended in this video, you WILL damage one of the spring buttons. best to pry at 5 o'clock. just found out this method doesn't work with a ceramic bezel. it's different with the aluminum as shown above. I can't get my bezel back on.
I am getting a new Green Bezel for my Sub... but it has to be Original Rolex... I understand cheap ones are there on the market, but the Original parts will keep their value and so will you watch... loved your video
Thanks buddy. It’s best you talk directly with Rolex. I wouldn’t trust anyone else. But I’ve heard they are hard to find and cost about £300.
Do you sell any bezel
How much is the 2004 submariner bezel price please 🙏
I want that LV
Can the rolex store do this for you?
I lost the pearl in the bezel
Could this be done the same way with a Ginault? Also where do I buy one of those leather cloth/pads from?
Yes exactly the same with a Ginault just ask TC...Of sorry I mean Ginault
I want to change my black sub into a Kermit now!
hi richard, did you change your sub into a kermit?
Just did the same for my sub thanks to your vid. Thank you! Sub’d
I own a yacht master and really want to change the bezel and the dial for something like the black submariner.
1- do you think it’s possible ?
2-And if yes, any recommended places to buy from online ?
3- I kinda like how it looks without the bezel is it bad for the watch ?
Thanks really helped
I don't know which Yacht Master you've got and I suppose they could have been different at some time in the past but my modern YM40 126600(I think) has a solid platinum bezel with the numerals in like a sand blasted relief. No insert necessary or even possible.
Hope that helps.
Oh and changing the dial in a Rolex is NOT for the faint of heart!
The thing is this,,, I have a genuine 1982 GMT Master with a Pepsi bezel,, nicely worn and totally genuine,, bought in 82 for around £800, GBP ,, now worth in excess of £6000 GBP ,, if I change the bezel,, value drops to around £1000, GBP,, So don't mess around with your Roly, if it's genuine!!
I think the idea here is that he is saving the genuine bezel insert from damage by putting a cheaper beater bezel insert instead. He can pop the original bezel back and since it's all original parts the value stays. Imagine wearing your GMT master and you get the bezel insert dented or punctured during your wear. Since the worn aspect is part of the charm for the watch you have no choice, but to be careful. For people with newer subs without worn bezel the switch doesn't really change the appearance of the watch. (though I suppose you wouldn't get the lovely worn look years down the line)
I bought mine in 1987 for just under £900 and it has hardly been off my wrist since. The bezel is looking a bit worn now and replacing it would give the watch quite a cosmetic lift, but as you say, it slaughter's the value. I might consider swapping the bezel and just keeping the original though.
You can still change your bezel. Just keep the original one and use an aftermarket one as the “beater”.
Super smart having aftermarket inserts in a watch of that value!
hello, is anyone know where I can buy a green bezel ?
hi adrian, interesting video. do you know if this is possible to do on the new gmt's? cermaic bezel? ive heard its not but you may have a different view. also, if it is possible, do you know where i could source an insert? im after rolex parts only, not knock offs fyi.
Hi buddy. Thanks for watching. The problem with ceramic bezel is they are incredibly brittle. I know it is possible on the new GMTs, but I’ve not tried it. And for me, doing it with a genuine Rolex bezel would be too much of risk.
thanks i appreciate your time adrian. yeah im not game to have a go at it. i could see a several thousand dollar rolex repair bill flash before my eyes given that id probably mess it up. might keep an eye on baselworld, who knows rolex might relent and bring us what we want, a steel gmt.
Very useful vid ! Is it still possible on the current ceramic versions ? Thanks !
Thank buddy. It still works for the ceramic versions, but do be careful of the ceramic section itself. Ceramic is strong, but it's very rigid, so be careful not to shatter it.
Hey, great video,
where is a good place to look for replacement bezel's ?
Thanks buddy. I get mine from www.cousinsuk.com. Make sure your get the exact measurement of your bezel, I've got it wrong a couple of times.
Wow, that was brave! I’d never attempt that with any of my watches.
Man, you are brave - Aren't you nervous about doing this on such an expensive watch?
Didn’t you watch the video? Its literally foolproof and worst case rolex parts are CHEAP and easy to find.
poor
Wow, the click springs on these older Subs are really poor quality.
alignment ?
😍
lets do a yt competition. who can open the most oyster cases in 10mins. ;)
Wow,ballsy! If you`re watchmaker i guess it`s not as unnerving as it would seem but still....
I`ve messed around with a couple of old Seikos just to try my hand at it but toying with a Rolex.
Do you repair watches for a living?
Hi John, no I don’t. I’m definitely not a watchmaker. Just a guy who likes playing with them. 🙈
Well thanks for sharing. This is what`s interesting, not how MANY rolexes-Rolex`(?) (plural) someone has and...well,you get the gist i`m sure. Subbed
Thanks a lot John. Glad you like it and for subbing. Cheers, Adrian.
👍🏼
can this be done with ceramic bezel?
I know it can, but I’ve not tried it. I don’t know how flexible ceramic is, so it might be worthwhile see if there’s a video on here showing it.
Why would anybody use a non Rolex bezel insert after paying all that scratch for the watch?
Rolex put a huge premium on the green bezel. A replacement one costs £300, compared to a black in that only costs £40 for a replacement.
where can I get that replacement
Where did you get the bezel inserts?
I bought all the parts off eBay. Lots of people mod their SKX and sell the parts to fund the modding.
@@BarkandJack thanks buddy.
OKI I’ll order my coke bezal quick question is that spring in same place of all rolex bezal pre ceramic such as sub gmt and sea dweller ?
I've not taken a .bezel off on those models myself, but I'd be surprised if Rolex bothered changing the location of the spring.
Bark and Jack I’m going to risk it again after 4 years let’s c if I fail or pass 😂
Rajazraj1992 haha. Good luck!
The pre Ceramic Sea Dweller bezel spring locates at 12 o'clock :)
Good video but I give up. Just spent 30 minutes attempting to put things back together but the spring won’t cooperate, keeps popping out so just left it off. Will have it installed the next time it’s serviced.
I work in psychiatry and I feel many Rolex owners have psychological issues regarding the "genuiness" of their Rolex. What's with having fun and creativity. Most freak out when they've found I put something aftermarket on my Rolex. Come on! On my 16710 (originally with a pepsi bezel), I have a few aftermarket bezel inserts that I frequently swap in and out while my genuine insert is protected in the box. I usually wear my pepsi and coke inserts during the spring/summer and use the black insert during the winters. Over the years, I've replaced at least a couple of different sets of scratched up coke and pepsi inserts. Thanks to the perfect condition of the original pepsi insert, I recently popped it back in and sold the watch for a big profit. TBH, on the 16710, unless I remove and compare the brand new inserts side by side, I couldn't easily tell the difference which is gen and which is aftermarket. Imagine both inserts having a little wear, it is just visually impossible to distinguish when sitting inside the bezel! Enjoy your watch! 😀
Nice vid. I love the look of the sub like most people and it’s super nice quality-wise but can’t figure out why the top dive watch in the world doesn’t have a luminous bezel. Just can’t get over it. Takes away the tool aspect of the watch. May just go with a Pelagos.
I have both and prefer my Blue Pelagos as a daily watch. The ceramic illuminated bezel and dial lume on the Pelagos looks amazing!
Without the bezel it looks like an explorer
I think it's really cool without the bezel. Looks more utilitarian.
agree
I like to pop off the bezel within a large plastic bag. That way if the tiny spring pops off I can easily collect it. Lessons learned 😂
Can someone PLEASE tell me what Rolex model/year he is wearing in the video?!!! I couldn't take my eyes off of it the entire video!!!!
hey where did you get this nice submariner replica, it looks pretty good
"I have 2 rolex's"
the parts come off so easily, makes me wonder if theyre really that waterproof
Die Lünette hat ja auch nichts mit dem Glasgehäuse zu tun. Das ist mit dem Gehäuse verbunden und versiegelt und nicht mit der Lünette. Ganz einfach deshalb sind sie weiterhin wasserdicht. 🤦♂️
Thank You...I just want to say in case people dont see it the washer/tension ring goes on first then the click spring , Also I dont know what kind of Clown had the watch before me but the click spring hole was at 6pm which says someone changed the crystal then pressed on the the crystal retention ring at the wrong place...OMG beware idiots
🙈🙈🙈 the kermit is much cooler than the normal sub. Why are you changin it ?
Haha, I changed it back soon after, don’t worry. 🙌🏻🐸
You should have done a close up of the spring. That part is essential to get right and you didnt do any close up.. sigh
Is this your Kermit? Is the bezel insert in your Kermit aftermarket? Or do you have two submariners both with green bezel inserts?
just bent my insert :-(
Noob : Mod an SKX
Legend : Mod a submariner
👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Wow. Thats A pretty shyt quality bezel system on the rolex
Remember the 16610 was launched in 1987, it was a big upgrade from the previous system.
Probably worse quality than an invicta I guess... and people squander 7k on these.
