If Jetfire was in TFP he would likely have a retractable face plate that had the battle mask which would be cool

for me masked Jetfire is always the best Jetfire. it's just so apart of his character to me like Optimus with his mask. it's just iconic.
No matter what you gotta admit when Jetfire flies into the battlefield one last time in ROTF it feels nice. Especially his entrance where he sounded so thrilled to be fighting again.

Jetfire is one of the best TF characters ever i would like to imagine his model in TFP and is have great designs in TF energon-cybertron-generations and he need legacy figures like TF energon legacy jetfire and his jet mod is a worthy opponet for titans return/prime wars triolgy megatronus prime/the fallen
I think that jetfire would have design similar to bayverse one, but less "senile geezer" and more " badass mentor " wibe going on if he would appear in prime, with some hints of his deception past still present both in design and personality.
Cybertron Jetfire has always been my favorite. I loved that show
tbh I didn't mind the green paint job for I thought he seemed like the adventurous/action type and felt fitting with his accent
Idk what it is but I've always liked the design, even as a kid.
The green paint, the visor, the accent.. and he's so bulky (which is not typically what you expect for a flier) it makes him seem powerful to be able to fly with all that weight

I honestly see skyfire and jetfire as two different characters. I see skyfire more like the G1 cartoon. Being a passive scientist who changes sides due to ideologies. While jetfire is more like a warrior and sky commando.
YK the exposure I ever saw of the character Jetfire was the TF Cybertron series where he had an Australian accent and green robot/cargo plane design years ago when I first discovered that there were other TF series, not just only prime, animated, or G1. To me Jetfire is that go to Autobot that's used if you wanna have someone that can fly

Jetfire is the most unConsistent designed character in transformers. Even more than Megatron
At least he had more constant alt modes

Jetfire is one of my favorite Autobots because his design is basically just like "if a Gundam design was in Transformers". idk he just gave me that Mecha Vibe compared to the rest which make sense considering he was a Macross Figure. I would love if Bandai ask Takara to make Plastic Models of Jetfire, Optimus Prime and Grimlock. these 3 are always my top favorite Autobots
I actually had the Jetfire with the really wide hips. Growing up, I always thought I had him transformed wrong.
Tbh, my favorite one is Cybertron. I just love the alt mode and idk what you mean about the green. Plus, *Australian Jetfire*
I'm biased but I'm gonna be honest, ROTF Jetfire and WFC and FOC Jetfire are my favorites.
Nothing biased about it.
ROTF Jetfire wins points for transforming into a SR-71 and being a grumpy old man, where as the WFC and FOC designs are pretty universally praised
@@JM64 whilst i understand why Jetfire was like someone's pissed off grandpa, at least they did something right about his character. once a Decepticon, now an Autobot, and he died an Autobot.
My favorite designs are WFC/FOC game, Armada and Cyberverse and ROTF. I really love how Armada and Cyberverse gave the character a whole new personality that really fits both character designs.
TF Cybertron is my go to when I think of jetfire since I used to watch it back when I was 6 or 7 and I remember thinking this guy was the shit
As a Bayverse fan being unbiased I understand why some people dislike the designs because they're not accurate to their original designs and I agree with them, but I liked his character, If you've the comics and you guys mentioned, Jetfire can hold his own for an old bot and Yes the Blackbird mode is really badass, he's the reason why Blackbird is my favorite plane, plus he is the X-men's main transportation.
Well to bad we don't even see his SR-71 Blackbird transformation like not even see him flying. What irked me is that sure he can be an Old Bot, but why not a grizzled veteran soldier like Hound? Instead they made him like geriatric caricature old man with a cane. They could have done a more bad-ass robot form for such a bad-ass plane, what a damn shame.
@@jack-exzolt9858 Ya they could have but, this is MB were talking about, I too wished he was able to transform into jet mode and see what it was like, plus they had multiple scenes they they could have cut out, but for some reason decided to keep. I won't lie If i had to rewrite ROTF I would have had Jetfire stay with the group as a means of transportation for sam, his friends and the rest of the Autobots off to Egypt and arrive a few min late, Jetfire could also have a sky battle with starscream you know Old vs New or just an old rivalry. Starscream could be attacking the other Autobots with the military and just as soon as he is about fire a barrage of missiles, Jetfire swoops in knocking starscream off his course then have the autobots question if he is on their side, then he could transform give a little speech then having him talk about glory and charging into battle, but the other autobots look at each other awkwardly then shrug, Jeez this was a much better idea that what they can come up with.

Just a really missed opportunity to the design. And funny thing is Bayverse Jetfire was the poorest sales on the toyline that Hasbro just canceled it and re-package it with Jet Optimus.
And ROTF Jet Optimus was nothing to write about either.

@@Achieme Bit of both. You really never see any Bayverse Jetfire in the main toyline ever. Even the DLX ones are struggling to sell.
The only ones left are the off-brand die casts. Strictly for collectors only.

22:40 you say these two designs are basically identical,but the comic design is the same as the classics/henkei toy and the forged to fight design is the IDW/thrilling 30 design,both of which you had already talked about before this in the video so I don’t know how you didn’t notice this.
16:15 RID Jetfire design is my definite favourite along with the Forged to Fight game's Jetfire, although I haven't really watched or read much of transformers in general. I just think that these designs just bring out a feature of Jetfire that just screams "Badass and powerful, yet simple and reserved". He's a sigma male that lacks a bit of courage
i like some of Jetfire’s design’s they are one of the best versions.

I love jet fire in the bayverse but I wish he was in his prime. He would most likely stand at around 60 feet and could probably one punch lots of the smaller bots.
My favorite is Robots in Disguise IDW.
I also like Diaclone toy (robot mode), G1 cartoon (starfighter mode only), Classics, Armada, Cybertron, Forged to Fight (robot mode), the one at 23:03, Funko, and the one at 33:28.
Jetfire wasn't a Diaclone toy, he was a Macross Valkyrie by Takatoku Toys (Bandai after Takatoku's collapse). The whole reason Jetfire became Skyfire is because Takara refused to give Bandai free advertising.

Jetfire one of the first autobot that could fly and turn into a jet. I do like both version of g1 Jetfire and g1 Skyfire design, I love classic Jetfire toy with adding feature based on g1 jetfire, Armada version, war for cybertron game version, and animated version as well (but if there is an animated character that looks like g1 Skyfire, he would look like g1 skyfire and not related to animated Jetfire.

The forged to fight version is my favorite. Primarily because he turns into the F-14B Tomcat. Ironically you called it a "too skinny looking" jet, when its widely regarded in the aviation community to be really big, beefy, and bulky
that was great just for the start
For Bayverse, I believe this was done because he would have been more powerful than Optimus. And that couldn't happen in these movies. Like with Ultra Magnus. He was already bigger than Prime. A better fighter with better armor and better weapons. And from the cartoons, Magnus could fly not Prime. Prime borrowed Sideswipes jet pack once, but that was it. Also, Magnus could fight Combiners by himself, Prime couldn't without help.
Bayverse Jetfire in his prime could absolutely bully StarScream... not that Optimus couldn't (he cut Screamer's arm off earlier in the same movie while also fighting off Megatron and Grindor) but Jetfire would be able to chase after him when Scream inevitably tried to run away
@@JM64 But this is only because in the Bayverse no one could be better than Prime. But in all other versions as is just the cartoons, Prime would never fight unless he had to. He would always let someone else fight first. And it was always Ultra Magnus of the two brothers that would be up for a brawl. In the version where Scourge was a tanker semi and the sixth member of the Combaticons, Bruticus started messing with Magnus who was at first minding his own business. So what does Magnus do? He puts a beat down on all six of them.

The first version of that legends toy did have grey instead of blue, although I don't think that would be enough to get him out of the arse tier.

My Favorite Would Be The TF Cybertron Version of Jetfire!
I just watched a video from Peugh where he reviewed a 3rd party version of the Armada Jetfire. Looked pretty cool if not a tad similar to the original toy.

A plus is that Unicron Trilogy Jetfire was voiced by Scott McNeil

I actually have the G1 original Jetfire figure (with mask) and I gotta say it's lovely! I just love the figure with the mask more than his actually face.

The G1 Jetfire toy was actually the same toy that we used for the series robo-tech because it was the same company that originally made it I think it was takara for both robotech and G1 transformers

there was one more jetfire in earth wars gamer it was called the jetfire skystriker were he was paired with snakeyes from g.i joe
I can't believe you skipped the Siege toy. You just did the box art. Looks far better than the Netflix show, towers over the Seekers, and has the armor accessories. I see the regular version as the scientist Skyfire, who armors up to become the warrior Jetfire.

I do think that the sr-71 is perfect for jetfire, hell u can even use the early A-12 prototypes livery for it which was black, white/grey and red. Or u could give it the tail mounted drone thingy that nasa used.
i know this is two years late but need to say this, when i was younger the cybertron jet fire felt more like a cybertron springer to me.

I think a version of Jetfire modelled on one of the old NASA shuttles would be rad. Does it make sense? Maybe not. Would it look cool? Yep.

Also Cybertron Jetfire was meant to be a new character when the show first came out
Would RoTF design be more appropriate for Kup? Since Kup is (from what I gathered from Rodimus Primal’s retrospective) this war veteran/old guy type of character, the RoTF design seems a bit fitting for a character like Kup. Also an interesting change in vehicle modes from a car to a jet
More fitting? Yes.
But I think it's safe to say that more fans know of and like Jetfire than Kup; I also think a lot of people would have been upset if the BLACKBIRD wasn't a well known and iconic character
