I was in thorn cross when it was the boot camp. Still ended up getting off after 6 months. I remember it was the coldest night in 50 years what a night. Trust us to choose that night never felt the cold of adrenaline.
Alright Billy, thanks for the video. I went to Thorn Cross twice. Unit 4 97, then Unit 2 99, easy jail lad. Always remember Mr Keith Whitely one of the best screws i ever met. Ive served 24yrs all in so ive met pure kangas Mr Whiteley was a top fella, much respect as always Billy
It was the site of Appleton thorn prison years ago, remember going to visit me Dad in there in the 70s with me Mum, we got told he was working away till I went there and quickly realised he was in prison, he done 12 months out of 18, his first and last prison sentence, he passed away aged 49 in 1993 😓
That's the the last prison I walked out of billy my self to lad don't know how I managed to fkn get through that place nearly shot off out of there in my first couple of days was on unit 4 lol 🤣!. Nice one for that billy lad!...✨👌✨👍👍👍✨✨
@@scousetony8618 yeah I'm good Tony, I don't let nothing bother me, what will be will be 💙, have a good weekend enjoy the sun, I'm enjoying Morecambe bay, gwan lad 😎 .
Hi Billy, Thanks for your vid. I enjoyed this video Billy - it was interesting mate. That church looked really nice to, well kept, clean and welcoming etc. anyway Billy, thanks again. John. 🤔👍
My dad worked on the building of this nick,we had a yale lock on our front door he pinched we only had 2 keys had to go Manchester to sign for a new one the spare key in the bin cupboard. My pop went back as a cleaner at 76 year old meds cheers Billy it's not far from Tommy shellbys house Arley Hall just follow the road past the nick 3 mile
I was one of the first YP's in Thorn Cross in August 1985, there was 12 of us from Walton. A week or 2 before, the very, very first were a group of 12 from Strangeways. As the weeks went buy, slowly more and more arrived. By about mid November it was at capacity. Back then it was a decent place, still every 2 - 3 weeks some kid went rabbit and ran away. The only sentence I have ever served. I learnt from it
I finished off a 3 n half in Thorn Cross in 91 as a YP! Went there from Everthorpe to get some visits! There used to be a screw on our unit called The cat, Mr Derbyshire used to creep around outside your pads wearing slippers to catch you smoking weed! Ha! Good memories really!!
Visiting these places was hard enough , I’m thankful 🙏 I never had to stay any longer than that and now these days my claustrophobia would make it impossible, so I make sure I behave 👌😂
I used to be library orderly in thorn cross in 1992. Probably the only one there that could read or write. It was a yoi then though. I was library orderlly in walton too. One of six. I was early 20's the rest were 70+ lol
What a scenic place that is. And it's a prison? It would be awful to be locked up anywhere. I've never been near anything to do with the police or prisons. But that is a pretty spot. I'm sorry to think that there are people locked in, right where you're filming. Makes me sad. I just wish them well and I hope that when they get out, they'll take different paths and have happier lives. I apologize. They don't want to hear from me. But it truly hurts to think of people locked up there.
I finished off my sentence at Prescoed Cat D, like a health farm. Always makes me laugh when someone does a runner and then they put on the media, do not approach this prisoner as hes dangerous LMFAO
@@jasgamage He shouted you will do for me son, As I passed my mate a smoke through the block window. I laughed and said later dickhead. I got chased all around the nick screws coming out of every door, Head first through tele room window and swooped my dirty plimsolls with some lad in there :)
Bill you still in the rooms? How long have you been recovered? I've surrendered now and am in the rooms early days but around great people and got sponcer today and the blue book
