  • I must lead a sheltered life as I only found out recently that Brook Street is apparently Birkenhead's 'red light area'. However, walking down at lunchtime seemed safe enough but I wouldn't want to walk along here at night.
During the day it is an industrial area and is a long, straight road showing how Birkenhead was originally developed.
On a personal note, I feel sorry for those women so caught up in addiction that they have to sell their bodies to feed their habit and I hope they manage to get the support they need to get to a better place in life.
Finally, my camera conked out again so may need to upgrade at some point.

I'm 60 and I've lived in Birkenhead all my life (I still do) and I always thought the red light area was Corporation Road.

Why film the streets during the day? If it's a red-light district, filming at night would be more relevant. You might think it's interesting or exciting to see a red light area, but it's actually a place where people face many problems and challenges. Instead of treating the people there like spectacles, you should try to learn more about their issues and realities.
