I have watched this performance to the end of the judges' comments and, fortunately, I understand Russian. The one who first pushed the button stated that for over half the performance he had goosebumps and they queried why they where there at all when they could say very little to help her improve. Then again he chimed in with the comment that they were there because, although they had been in the profession some time, Diana had come so that they themselves could learn and grow from her performance. I personally am captivated.

The funny thing, in an interview about the show Diana said that she didn't really understand the lyrics and what this song was about, so she just tried to convey the feeling of sadness after being abandonned.

When Diana Ankudinova sang this Song, she was fifteen Years old. This remarkable Girl had a horrible childhood. The real Mother almost killed Diana in the Bathtub when she was 3 years old, and a few Months later she threw her out on the Street in the Winter, so Diana spent two Years in an orphanage and didn’t say a Word during that Time because she lost ability to Speak. When she was 5 Years old, she was adopted by an Employee of this orphanage and taken to a singing Teacher on the advice of Friends. Diana first started singing, and only later did she start speaking again. She was lucky to be taken care of by extremely sensitive People who kept her alive and made her a Star that will shine on Earth for all of us for many years to come! You can hear the results of her Soul surviving a horrific Trauma in her way of singing, which she turned into something ingenious!
But now I would love to see those ten Psychopaths who don’t like her singing!
For a complete understanding of Diana you must understand that in fact she began to sing before speaking! Her mother was an alcoholic and did not care about the child at all, Diana was constantly hungry and no one even spoke to her. And when Diana was about three years old, her "mother" tried to drown her in the bathroom! Diana broke free and ran away from the house, on the street passers-by picked her up and took her to the police station, Diana was placed in an orphanage, and her mother was deprived of her parental rights.
There was a nurse in the orphanage who loved Diana so much that she adopted her. But the child actually did not know how to talk at all, because NOBODY talked to her until three years old! Her speech apparatus was completely undeveloped! After long trips to various doctors, the adoptive mother was advised to take Diana to a vocal studio in order to facilitate the development of speech abilities more easily. That is why Diana from four years old is constantly engaged in singing - and God grant the health and happiness of her real mother (not a fake biological one) for saving this soul and talent for all of us!
And it is precisely the difficult fate and personal history that allows Diana to FEEL every song, she’s not just “singing words” or imitating someone’s performance, but she is experiencing SENSE - it is clear that she LIVES with music, and not just shows talent ...

Thanks Mark for a different approach in the analysis. In my view Diana’s performances are mostly due to her talent (as opposed to the production), they come from within, in a good way she gets possessed when is on the stage. Love Diana’s singing and am intrigued to see her first album

К третьей песне на конкурсе Диана уже так дирижировала судьями, что они качались в так как кобры вылезшие из мешка заклинателя... очень интересное наблюдение на счёт того как Диана умно наклоняется. You will not recognize in it her song. Diana put a soul, a feeling of loneliness and a cold of despair into the song.

The year prior to this amazing performance
at age 13 she entered her first kids contest in Russia where she sang a song that required masterful yodeling.
It was a masterpiece, a tour de force in yodeling and yet NOT ONE CHAIR TURNED .
When the 4 Judges turned after the song was finished, the audience interrupted what they were saying by giving Diana a 5 minute standing ovation!! After the applause, the judges had her perform a segment of a more traditional French song made famous by Edith Pief and after she sang it , the lady judge covered her face and her head in shame. The judges said they didn’t press their buttons because they couldn’t teach her anything. She was beyond their level already. But this turned out to be a BLATANT LIE. Because the following day it was revealed that the contest was “ fixed” the winner was “bought” before the show started. A total travesty of justice and revealing how corrupt this kids show was.
And the following days 80 million who watched her amazing performance on CZcams spit on the judges.
But she got her revenge the following year and year thereafter by winning not only the Russian contests but 60 more awards.
Please ( when you get the chance) CZcams “ Diana Ankudinova yodeling”. And you’ll witness a yodeling masterpiece and if you stay to the end of the judges video you will hear a brief portion of the French song the judges asked her to sing which was amazing!
