Don’t ya just love it when you can deliver the good news to the owner that one of his rocker arms was just loose and all it needed was to be tightened back down to specs? I’m sure you made his day.
I think you are a great mechanic for taking on just about everything, but still refering to the manual at most every step. You take pride in your work, and have no issues showing us when you screw up.
100% agree with what you said about people not looking after equipment until they have to pay the repair bills and realize how expensive it can be to run tractors/heavy equipment. Some people have no idea they just think 'I don't pay the bills so I wont look after the tractor'.
I had an operator in the shop one time after doing a PM on a trailer. And I gave them a one page wish list on regular repairs, things of that nature. And he asked why I found so much stuff and I said well do you have to do daily walk around that way you keep your maintenance costs low.Anyway half his tires were like 60 PSI or lower and he was confused by this so for shits and giggles I told him he had summer air in his tires instead of winter air. So obviously I aired up his tires until the owner got to a tire shop, but I told my service manager and we had a good laugh, and we charge them for some winter air.
That’s nice that farmer caught a break, I had a 7710 with a peck under full load it was just a couple loose exhaust manifold bolts, nice to have an easy fix once in a while
Hello there. Henry Wilson here. I wished I was working I'm retired with a bad leg though diabetes. I was a stone waller for 30 years and now I'm fucked. I would go back to work tomorrow if I was fit. I loved my job. I was like you I worked on my own. I never saw people for days on end. People used to say I can do your job. Has ever they never lasted so long. They were full of bullshit has ever.
I know you did this in 2017, but just found your channel. It would be better for us if you could flood the work you are doing with lots and lots of light so we culd see more of what you are doing. Gife it some thouhgt. A stationery camera view would be nice also. Love your videos.
Valves make the engine.... Within reason, worn engines can run really well as long as the top end is in decent shape and in adjustment..... Nice work, Sir!
Cummins Had a tool that snapped over when 5 inlbs was reached that was considered zero lash.....We have to run the lash on the acohol pro mod every pass.... You good
Great video. Love watching the engine working without the rocker cover on. Good result. Oh.. and remember, you're not a dumb ass !! Its an age thing !! We call them senior moments in the UK.
And another thing. If I win the lottery I will send over some good strong working lamps so you don't need your torch all the time and we can see a bit better !!
Hey grease this one was an easy fix haven’t seen you getting to much small jobs lately. She sounds really nice 👍. Seem like you’re only getting John Deere’s lately. I personally like Deere’s they have solid engines and perform well but they’re a bit expensive to maintain. I’m thinking of trying a case or new holland. What’s your opinion
Zameer Akaloo I have customers that have New Holland or case tractors, they seem to be fairly happy with them. The only thing I don't like about their powershift is that electric park lock actuator. It seems to be problematic, other than that I think they are good tractors.
Warren, Enjoy your videos very much. Did a scan of comments and didn't see any about a valve seat coming loose. Does that happen on these tractors? Easy on those hands. I've had carpal tunnel surgery on both. H
Mr. grease monkey101, it looks like Pacific Torque (www.pacifictorque.com) are your local ZF dealer or HD Industries (gohdi.com) but they are down in southern CA.
1beastlydude I think I watched one of his videos where he was doing a power quad. It's been awhile , I can't remember if it was a powershift or powerquad.

Excellent work. You went from "...don't blow up..." to "..come and get it."

It's great when you think k you're going to have to give someone bad news who really doesn't need it and it turns out to be something simple:)

Yep, I drive a big truck every 50,000 miles I get the overhead run on it.
I bet that guy was doing backflips when you rang him to pick the 8320 up. He would have been shitting bricks all day that he had a blown motor.
You do good work

one happy owner !!
HI FROM IDAHO
Have had the same thing happen on a 8300 and 8310
Dexter Runyard Seems to be a common issue with that valve train. I was talking to my buddy who worked for Deere for years and said the same thing.

thomas m Yes, I surely will.
