@@stamperssecret5379 Amazing course! You will love it!!!!
You are my younger sisterfriend đđđ
I wish you have a beautiful last day of the year....
Best wishes for the new year..
Thank you for that link. Iâm on low battery but will definitely look at that asap.
I think investing in really good bra, underwear, and undergarments at our age is KEY. So much of frump is due to having droopy look under your clothes. Also update your shoes and hair. Lastly - clothes MUST be tailored or FIT you properly. Frump is born out of ill-fitting clothes and when you're older you have less wiggle room to pull it off - because baggy clothes + baggy body = frump. Get your undergarments sorted stat!
Oh, I agree about the bra we used to have a couple stores that would fit you for good bra and never let them sag pull those straps up
100% thank you for sharing xâ€
Totally! VPL makes me cringe... that, and pilling and fluff are pet peeves. Easy to resolve, though.
Totally agree! When breasts face due North rather than East/West it makes such a huge difference and the top half looks narrower without the spread, and you look slimmer, cos, let's face it, you are noticed from the face down đ
Some of us have foot problems that make it impossible to wear fashion shoes. It really it is depressing. I had to give my Bally, David Weitzman, and Chanel shoes. Sigh
I love your style, your videos, your encouragement, and your humor! At 65, Iâd lost my husband and was caring for my father, who was still stylish at 104. Iâd long stopped caring about my appearance. Until my dad politely mentioned it - lol. Then I saw myself in a family photo. I was packing that extra 20 pounds from 2020, and yes, I was wearing a flowered dress I had no business wearing. The 20 pounds have gone, and Iâm paying attention to my wardrobe. All I can say is what worked for me was omitting sugar and refined foods - if it came from a factory, I avoid it. It simply makes me feel unwell. Even my sinus issues are almost nonexistent now. I didnât realize how bad I felt until I felt better. Now I like feeling better. I like looking good. I care again! Nobody is more surprised than I am - lol!
Thank you for sharing, sorry for your husband lost of love x
That is just amazing!!! Good for you for taking care of your health and now you can start to take care of your appearance. I'm sure that your mental health as also improved immensely.đđđđđ
Your Dad is/was 104!
That's incredible!!
This gives me hope for the future, for my parents and other family members, who are entering mid to late eighties and early nineties.
A big part of my fears is that life is over at that point, and their time is rapidly coming to a close (which it could be, but it's nice to know that there is still hope.)
Somewhere along the way we can lose our zest for life.
Making changes to our diet can definitely help, even for a short while, while we get back on track.
Go girl xxxx
I am so encouraged by your story! I am 57 with a pot belly after 2 pregnancies. I have to do a lot of speaking assignments and l am am self concious. My clothes do not fit right. I am not sure about what colors l should wear. This year, l decided that l will not be frumpy. My daughter recently cut my hair. Looks nice, but l must learn how to style. I do want to look elegant. I cut sugar many years ago and am doing intermittent fasting now for 3 years, but not losing weight as l thought l would. Have to figure my next move. So encouraged, though by your story.
At age 69, I am way past the menopause years. It is a liberation, frankly. I have remained a French size 38/40. I have completely white hair but warm toned complexion. The town in Sicily where I live is not noted for stylish women, so I am grateful for advice in videos such as yours. Looking my age doesn't bother me at all. But I make an effort to look modern. I pay attention to my posture and flexibility
Great tips thank you x
I am 66 and am a French size 38/40 (US 4/6), too. I like the discipline of caring for and about my body and clothing style. You are right, posture and flexibility go a long way in maintaining youth.
Your combination of white hair and warm toned Mediterranean skin is beautiful!
@@hiannahgus574 how nice to hear from you! Until I retired at age 64, I led a sedentary life that did much harm. Among other things, I needed spinal surgery. In retirement, I go to yoga classes and swim. Best of all, got rid of my car 4 years ago. Now I ride a bike everywhere - including shopping. Result! Best wishes
â@@mariecurie7491 Yoga is the solution to most of the problems. Love from India -- Bharat
@@asavaridesai3929 oh yes. I believe I would not have needed spinal surgery, had I had the time and opportunity to lead the active life I do now. But I had to work, long hours, to support my family đ€·ââïž
I love the 3 color rule that I learned from you! It just makes everything flow and look so much better. My husband often tells me that I am over dressed because our retired friends dress the same every day in jeans and a half zip polar sweatshirt. I prefer to have a little elevated look and have purchased quality sweaters in cashmere and wool blends NO poly! I also purchased a beautiful wool coat (hence the over dressed comment) but it's warm and classic! LOVE this channel ............ learn so much thank you Frederique!
Donât give in! You will inspire the others! And those younger will be proud to take you to lunch! đ
OOh Iâd be interested to learn about the 3 color rule? Iâm guessing Fredrique may have a video on it?
@@specialk1627 me too? What episode was that in?
Thanks for sharing this, I am in the same boat. I live in the US but I am from Italy. I grew up just embracing a proper form, a way of respecting self and others ( fare la bella figura). Somehow, it translate to always being " overdressed" when for me it is just casual elegant comfort on a daily basis and on the proper occasion straight chic. Somehow it has become threatening to others when we are elegant ladies...I have not given in but, admittedly, it makes me feel a bit isolated.
â @@cyclamen831Iâm sorry you feel isolated, I understand you very well. Iâm from South America, and come from a family and a culture that dresses for the occasion. We take care of the way we look; itâs a priority. Living in the US I always seem a tad overdressed compared to others, but Iâm generally well put together, and feel good about myself. Thatâs enough for me đ. Keep showing up with pride â€!!
I love wearing orchid purple or lilac colors in the winter, preferably on a sweater but the sweater will have a nice texture or cut that is flattering. If I wore black every day, Iâd be so depressed but color makes me happy!
Very sound advice. My only quibble is that I look 100% fabulous in bright Barbie pink. Barbie pink is the epitome of overly juvenile unsophisticated color. Fuchsia, hot pink, raspberry pink, light pink, soft nude pinks, any cool pinks (coral, not so much) drops ten years from my face. I wear a simple grey skirt and a pink cashmere sweater and men young enough to be my son make passes. Red is a good "also ran" and also excites male interest (I am a widow, this is important to me). So... even though I wish dearly that my best color is unsophisticated, I wear my juvenile pinks. I wear very sophisticated colours relieved by a bright splash of a pink scarf or a pink blouse peeking out of my navy blazer. đ€·đ»ââ Love your channel - keep up the good work!
I hear you. Men like pretty colours. It is what it is lol. I donât agree with everything she said. Sheâs French lol. I like pink, too. And I love a good tyedye tracksuit! We can take what we like and leave the rest, I think. Rock that pink, and good luck in dating!
I love pinks and reds too. I still wear them as well as my new neutral palate đ
You go girl!
Wear your pink with pride đ!
@@alijane6675 Feel free to be yourself!
I'm glad you can wear red. I'm 55 and as I've aged I've gone lighter in hair and makeup. I don't look like me in 2000 ( just found a pic of me, red cardigan, red lipstick). It ages me now. I do love red but sadly, unless it's red lingerie (I have a beautiful set from Victoria Secret) I don't wear it out. I'm a nude or brownish lio color now too.
I am 59, and I loved wearing short dresses and skirts, tight pants and jeans as well, high heels all of the time...I had the body and legs for that. But not anymore, and the skirts are getting longer, but the heels shorter haha! I didn t noticed much of the menopause luckily, but my body shape is changing, so my clothes as well. I do not care what the others think of me, but I do care how I look, just for myself. Never walked like a joke on street, never will do. My guilty pleasure is hard rock and heavy metal, I go to live gigs and rock clubs. And guess what, there I can still wear crazy things like leather skirt, high boots and leather jacket, panther print shirts plus some chains and leather wrist bandsđđJust because nobody cares and everybody is dressed like that! Being careful though, not walking the streets like that on day light! đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
Culture plays a big role in clothing choice. Caribbean and Tropical cultures utilize prints and colors a lot and it is extremely classy and classic.
So true . Warm weather allows beautiful colors and prints. You donât see people wearing cheerful clothes from cold boring countries.
âItâs Under your control when you meet someone what kind of impression youâre going to makeâ. Loved that ! †really brings power (and responsibility) back!

I'm middle aged, menopausal, and have been sick for a long time. I'm finally feeling a bit better, and I'm trying to get back into shape and find my personal style. Your videos are great!
I am LOVING YOUR STYLING COURSE!! All this time since I was young I was hourglass. Iâm short 5ft and as I aged Iâm 72 I went through menopause 3 TIMES!!! MENOPAUSE actually agreed with me as I was too underweight for years. Now I'm a bit more muscular and filled out.
I think the issue of bright colors is not that simple, I color bright winter and I need intense and bright colors to look good and young. When I look older and faded, it's with beige, for example. I also wear neutral, I hope I avoid completely neutral looks because it's better for me, but I'm not the only colorist who needs color. By the way, I am romantic in style (but in the most kibbe sense of romantic), with a bit of natural and a bit of classic. Fits my hourglass well too so happy
Me, too. I look dead in beige and need bright, dense colour to come alive. Do what is best for you.
Totally agree
First things first....I love those glasses on you. They are fabulous! Secondly your makeup and hair are on point.
I was never taught the importance of looking and feeling good growing up. It is something I have always struggled with. Your videos really help me. Thank you đ
I have recently seen a clinical nutritionist and she advised me to cut out all grains as there is no such thing as a gluten free grain. It made a huge difference to my stomach, weight and energy levels. Also my swollen thyroid. (Hashimoto). Grains are a big cause of this too! Love your videos Frederique! đđ
FrĂ©dĂ©rique has the best style and attitude! I ordered two sweaters she suggested frĂŽm her Amazon store this morning. Canât wait until they come!
Wear what makes you feel good. Color is important and can be paired with a neutral. I used to wear only black and white until i realized I looked like a waiter and when I wore a color I got more compliments. Donât be afraid of color.
I recently started to pay more attention to the colors that are adequate to my skin tone and makes a huge difference. Regards from đČđœ
Ive had to wear tight N95 masks and face shields since 2020 because I work in healthcare, really rough on the skin and pointless to wear make up due to the sweating. Never feel attractive at work, or motivated to look nice due to this. When I do go out I love to wear colors, or a splash of colors mixed with neutral. I think my undertone is neutral to cool. I can wear yellow and oftentimes get complimented, but anything pastel, especially mint green and I look 10 years older. Thanks for the advice, I did get rid of anything with a large print, they truly were hideous, what was I thinking! LOL. Have a great day Frederique.
So sorry that you have to wear the mask and it irritating your skin. đą
In my teens and twenties I wore a lot of pink in all its glorious shades and lots of scarlet. Now many years later I tend more toward deeper shades- jewel tones, I get a lot of compliments when I wear shades of wine, burgundy, plum. I love brighter colors but now wear them as accents instead of all over. Black has always been my neutral and it pairs well with so many colors. I find it more versatile than any other color.
You've inspired me to remove 2 extremely frumpy dresses from my closet. One to be donated and the other to become a throw pillow or bean bag coverđ
I agree with everything you said here and love that you are sharing menopause effects. People don't know what to do to help with the changes they experience and I think they're too embarrassed and tired to act accordingly. They just end up with frumpy clothes instead!! Thanks again for another good video! xx
I totally agree. It's very rare for me to wear prints unless they are stripes, small plaids, or tiny polka dots. I use to wear florals a lot but thanks to you I learned the error of my ways lol. Keep up the good work and bringing us such good content. I'm a follower from way back. Happy Holidays Frédérique.
Totally agree. Thanks for your advice.
You are one of my favorites! I love that you donât over style your hair! Also your adorable grasp of the English language so refreshing and tue. Fun and informative thanks for staying real and honest. đ
Yep menopause, I got sick of the weight creep and decided to do something about it. Build muscle, I don't mean huge muscles but enough to protect your bones and improve your basal metabolic rate. It has taken me the better part of a year but without changing my eating habits I now have so much more energy and I can fit into all of my pre-menopause clothes. Also my BP is down, my resting heartrate is down and so is my cholesterol. If I had have been better at dieting things might have happened faster but personally, I want to enjoy a glass of wine and not cut carbs out of my diet. I agree, even though we have to get older we don't have to dress like our grandmothers did.
I love these look-younger videos and you make it fun and entertaining, not preachy at all! Please dont stop making them. You look gorgeous in this one too! X
Unfortunately, all lower cost clothing stores only sell printed clothes and due to continuous inflation, you canât afford mid to high end clothes that would look better on you.
Resale and thrift stores sell at great prices. I had to learn to identify quality first though
@@MyCrownstar Not in my size and body shape.
Thank you for making this video. I am 50 and my body just suddenly has a life of its own. I realised everything i do (go gym 2-3 times a day, intermittent fasting, breathing air) will add 1 more kilo to my already ballooning weight. In my 20s, i was 49-50kilos, and during Covid i started putting on weight andd i suspected also having peri-menopause, and after Covid the weight just continue to climb and i am now 61.9kg!!Hearing you encountering all these hormones and how not to give up and stop wearing flowery night gownđ really cheered me up. and the food part too. With age comes IBS and all sorts of gassy and bloated symptoms. It is so frustrating and demoralising. I am so glad you made this video for me who is over 50 and about to give up this fight.
Love this video. Great way to start the new year! Bought winter sweaters in solid navy, army green, off white and a beautiful black and white stripe cotton cable knit. Asking myself when I choose my outfit " is this elegant, classy orv chic". If not, it may be good enough to walk my dogs but thats it.
I have a couple of hats I love to wear. I have a dark purple wool cloche and a houndstooth hat I love. I get compliments all the time! It's a good way to add texture or a pattern without going overboard. Love all your videos! đ
That is awesome!â€
Thank you for giving it to us straight. Keep it up!!
You're classy and honest !!
Thank you for bravely and compassionately talking about menopause. I love your style, your poise, your advice, and your kindness to women of all ages and bodies.
Loved your styling course and felt quite affirmed! Would love suggestions on dressing for a fast-paced manufacturing job, where the women to men ratio is 1:20. Activities in a typical 12 hr days could go from sweating on a ladder repairing a machine, to giving a presentation to a room of managers or engineers.
WOW, Frederique is on brilliant form today! Thank you so much for a great video full of useful tips x
You're so welcome!
Amen, Girl!
You are the best! Great video!
Bonjour FrĂ©dĂ©rique, since I watch your videos I have regained confidence in myself. I must say I also lost some weight and feeling thinner at the waist makes a huge difference as I can tuck in now! Yeah! Btw, for me like many, it was the "white " carbs which made me feel bloated and gain weight: no more white bread (being French it's a challenge), white pasta, or white rice either. I feel better and I look better. I always had the wardrobe staples in my closet and your many videos about how to mix and match them have been so helpful ! Each time I wear one of your suggestions, I get compliments đ, and now it's almost every day because I finally dare to wear pieces I one thought were overdressed. They're not, they're simple and classy, yet modern and they make me feel so good! Thanks again for voicing nicely the truth, and all the hard work to put up these videos. Keep them coming, je ne m'en lasse pas!
I definitely agree with you! đ
You are SO much fun to watch, but could you please do more videos that include more than camel, black/navy and ecru? I get it, they look good on you, but I look better in jewel tones.

I love that you give new thoughts on whatâs in my closet.
You are a Queen đđŻ, you are absolutly right in all the things you say i agree totaly. There is no need to get fat and frumpy after Menopause. A healthy diet, some workout and a good Lifestyle solves it all. A little bit of make up, good skin care and some stylisch clothes do the rest.

I love this video ! So glad I've found you . I've been having trouble having clarity about fashion at age 53 . You are helping so much. I've recently released some pieces in my wardrobe that were great for a younger me . I'm now asking myself if what I'm wearing looks elegant. Such a good litmus test .
Bonjour! I have weeded through my clothing, and rid myself of much frump and big loose clothing. Thank you for the inspiration â€ïžđ
Oh my where does one begin and where one needs to draw the line. I love color, clothes, shoes, handbags, and jewelry. Daily fashion choices can be tricky but can also be fun and liberating. I gravitate towards a classic look. Many factors from location, age, to body size and shape to finances have all impacted us all over our lifetime. I think as long as a person is comfortable in how they look they should go for it.
I really enjoy your channel.
We should add Camouflage too. Unless you're heading out on a hunting trip, it's always a bad idea. Agree with everything you said! :)
I appreciate that you are direct and honest. Also health and fitness no excuses there for us

Great video! Lots of great information, and fun as well. Thank you! As for me, I live a jeans and boots lifestyle, kind of a classic style meets boho vibe. I agree with you all the way. You look absolutely stunning đ
My digestive problems improved tremendously after doing a candida cleanse and taking other supplements to help with SIFO. I know it's not very well researched but I felt horrible and now I can eat what I like.
Hi Frederique! I just want to say I watch you, and I love your content, even though I know and completely understand why you donât make these kinds of videos anymore. My natural style has always been what I call âeffortlessly classy & a little sexy.â Iâve always worn a lot of black, neutral colors, etc., BUT I will say that black women can get away with many things you deem âcheapâ or not elegant. The bright colors, and even prints, especially African inspired prints, look amazing on dark skin, so I just wanted to mention that.
Iâm still watching your content all these years later, and using a lot of your older videos for my upcoming trip to Paris. Thank you so much for your videos!

I was born and raised in Southern California and spent my teen years in the mid to late 70s. I keep gravitating towards jeans (of course they were started there) and T-shirts but love Classic Styles
I'm so glad I found your channel :-) fashion does definitely not come naturally to me so I need all the help I can get! I feel like half of the stuff in my wardrobe is probably needing a change up to be a bit more tidy! Slowly but surely đ
I ve tried colours lately cause I was always mostly on black and white and I ve noticed that brighter colors suited me more. But its just that I don't feel quite myself on them and in the end I feel good only whit beige, nude, cammel...sometimes Bordeaux..here in Italy people use a lot of color and they are masters in combining and creating perfect looks. But even if i LOVE THEM in others...i feel better the days that Im in classic tones.
Love your ideas, you look great and you re funny. Im so happy I found you. !
Thank you for sharing
I am loving your videos âșïžđ. You are so funny and vibrant. I have definitely had years where I didn't try very hard on my appearance and others when I have put a bit more thought into it. This year I bought a few dresses for summer and hardly wore any shorts. I do not have a single skirt in my wardrobe at the moment. As our lifestyle changes so do our clothes and of course our bodies as well. What you might have loved as a 20 something is most likely not going to be what you love now. Keep experimenting, I recently just bought a pair of wide leg jeans, which I never thought i would do, guess what I'm really enjoying them, in fact I am wearing them right now.
I enjoyed this. Thanks
I quite adore Japanese tie-dye (Shibori) dresses and wear Pastels a lot as I'm a Soft Summer with Low-Medium contrast) and look best in greyed muted colours. Other than that, I quite agree with you đđ

Thank u for lovely advise of styling ourself according to our age .I liked ur speech
You really are my favorite French fashion blogger, you resonate positivity and sisterly vibes . You are high spirited and fun to watch. And what I like most is , that you donât come a cross as patronizing and condescending. Iâve always had a good figure, but now and in my sixties, my figure is way better then it has ever been , Iâm tall , slim with no lumps and bums to bee seen , and thatâs , because when in my early phase of menopause , I started to work hard on my body through regular exercise. So , it is possible not only to keep he same figure you had in your twenties , but to have even a better one . Though, I find myself agreeing with you on almost everything, I have to disagree about your stance on the color pink , it is so refreshing , I love it and goes so well with my skin tone . Iâm a grandmother of five, but on so many occasions, when Iâm with my handsome son , people confuse me with his wife !! I must admit, it is such a moral booster!! The thing is , look after yourself and stay away from granny look and demeanor , and youâd be cool.
Thank you so much lovely đ„°
You rock!
Oh so agreed !
Hi Frederique. I couldnât agree more about tie dye. I didnât like it in the â70âs and dislike it even more now, even for young women.
As I was watching I was thinking how gorgeous that colour is in your top. Itâs so flattering to your skin tone. You even mentioned skin tone. Itâs so important to wear what suits us. As Iâm getting older I think I suit navy more than black. I like both though and still do wear black.
Fit is very important. I really dislike dresses that are skin tight. I donât think having dresses hugging the backside itâs flattering but I know some people will disagree. Skimming yes, on someone with a great figure but clinging, no.
Itâs very true that a lot of fashion for women over 40 is ugly. The manufacturers use cheap fabrics too, with lot of hideous prints and styles. Thatâs why I stick to classic style but Iâd love to have a bit more femininity without looking silly.
Apparently Iâm a romantic body type in the Kibbie method. I think anyway. Itâs hard to judge. It would be great if you could do a video on personal styles. Thanks for the chat!
Love this video!!!!đ
Thank you for another great video đ You look absolutely beautiful đ€©
I agree on almost everything you sayâŠbut, as a bright spring, neutral colors make me older looking. And orange, kelly green and purple gives my skin a nice, healthy glow. Not to mention neon yellow or pinkâŠđ everytime I wear those color, someone comments on how I look healthy and young looking! đ
There are some clothing pieces in extreme colours that look classy. I have a long hot pink tailored wool coat form Zara and it looks very chic. For me pairing a strong stand out colour with a tailored fitting is very chic. Especially if I see a woman in wiser years in a stand out colour paired nicely with neutrals I think oh this woman is a fashionista.
Thanks for sharing!!
I agree with you 100%
I agree with your comments and suggestions. You always make me laugh.

I must tell you that your continued emphasis on finding your undertones to improve your wardrobe ALSO exactly applies to purchasing hair of whatever sort (extensions, halos, wigs, toppers) one needs. So thankful for your expertise and your willingness to "say it like it is" to help us regain our beauty and our confidence.
Thank you so much. I have also hashimoto and itâs been hard take care x

I love your vlogs thankyou I have learnt so much. I love your style and only wish I could wear the same but unfortunately the natural colours e.g camel and ecru look terrible on me so instead I try to do the same but with my neutrals of navy and grey. I have found that since embracing my grey hair my colours I can wear have changed so much.
Those spectacles look amazing on you. Love the lookâ€
This is interesting I need so much in my wardrobe now.
I've got 6 flowy viscose shirts with beautiful prints; looks like Hermes but it isn't. I often combine them with simple black or blue. Works well for me.
Thank you đ Merci beaucoup đ
