It's not a great fight. It's a substandard fight. You may have a great game between the number 1 and the number 4 seed, but to crown a champion it's people playing their best against the other people playing their best. Benavidez has earned the fight and been mandatory for years. He is better than munguia and therefore the fight would be greater than this if you want to call this a great fight.

Didn't Benavides signed a 3 fight deal with PBC? The 3 fighters he was supposed to fight were Plant, Andrade and David Morell. He only fought Plant and Andrade but chickened out from fighting David Morell. David Morell called out Benavides so many times and he even called him a coward for not fighting with him after all. But of course the cameras are not catching that because they're too busy watching every step or every move Canelo does.

Munguia was seen as a protected flawed below championship level fighter. He had a good performance against Ryder, but Ryder is a level below that too. When Canelo fought him he was seen as a tuneup level opponent. Canelo's team has done a great job of hyping up Ryder and then Munguia to make us try to forget Benavidez. Canelo fought Ryder, then an inactive 154 pounder, and now a guy in the second tier of his division. Mungia is going to get KO'd as Canelo laughs to the bank.

3 years ago, I had DB marked for great things, but in the past 2 years, I took him off my favourites list because I've seen and felt social problems around him. In my opinion, and 'on camera', I don't like the way he is with his wife, nor the family dynamics at press conferences, and he appears anxious like he's taken 100 Red Bulls.
