My ex army son is last on the housing list after migrants and everybody else . Not into drugs or alchohol and now has to stay with us as the council said all homes are earmarked for migrants and drug users . He left the army due to injury . And has had nothing . No help of any sort . Vetrans support said he could be waiting a year getting his own house . And now the woketards we have as mp's who made this happen want more of our children to fight for a country that gives not a jot for the people fighting for the country . My son feels used by our goverment and its the family that have to help when no help is offered as he is not black , muslim , a woman , or lgbtq . So now find himself at the back of every queue . as a 18 year old, i have grown up in a climate that has permitted me to dream to be something that isn't going to be impacted by war, i was born in 2005 and between then and 2020 there have been 3 confilts that the UK has been "involved" in, non of which have efffected me . its not that I'm not patriotic its more the fact that I and the large majority of people my age mentally aren't cut out for something like being a soldier or being in the military, be it fighting whomever we (fingers crossed dont) go to war with. its not that we're "woke" or that we've "lost our fight for this country" its that fact that we've enjoyed so long being completely unbothered by war that we have no reason to ever want to go and do such a thing. we simply haven't been raised for it. some will agree and i can't speak for everyone my age but in my eyes, this is the truth.....

First of all as a mother, I’d like to say, why would any mother be happy with her son fighting for this country, when our sons are not even recognised as being a big part of this country, you recognise young men from other countries you have open arms for them so instead of giving them hotel accommodations, give them a uniform and ask them to fight for this country before they can stay in it and see what happens. My grandfather fought in the war in Burma, but never spoke about it, I asked about the war, to which he replied " I dont want to speak about it its in the past" so he must have been traumatised by it. He was from ancoats in manchester, but that's all I know. Like I said I couldn't get anything from him. Only his medals😢

u need a history lesson. Women have fought for Great Britain in all wars in one capacity or another. Putting their lives on the line. Over seas as well as at home. It should be well documented everywhere, google it, look on Wikipedia. Many on the front lines, right back to the Crimea War (Florence Nightingale eg).
Even those who stayed home worked in ammunition factories making bullets and explosives, which many died or maimed because it was unsafe. Not to mention threat of being bombed when enemies learned of the locations. Also Canadian women flew aircraft over for replenishment of air defense when Britain needed planes. They were farmers wives who flew crop duster planes or just wanted to fly, can you imagine flying over the Atlantic ocean and the nerve it took.
Women have been fighting in wars, supporting troops right back to Boudicca.

When I needed my country it wasn’t there for me. Loyalty is a two way thing not one sided. To give context I got accused of something I didn’t do at work but got sacked for it I lost everything I worked for after a number of years for the company. Even showed evidence that management didn’t think I did it but the investigation officer didn’t like that so went to other management to get a different answer. I had evidence from witnesses that said I didn’t do it. I went to employment tribunal and lost my case due how employment law works. So took me 10 years to get back to where I was. So that why I won’t fight for this country and yes before what happened to me happened I would have fought for this country.

We have 3 problems with our armed forces, 1. Recruitment is outsourced, no longer do we have Sailor's, Airmen and Soldiers in our Recruitment office. 2. Really? Has the institution, its culture, customs, traditions, rituals, powers, influence, snobbery, and general disdain for the plebs changed all that much since then.
