    Why would it be a problem to send to Denmark? Maersk is Danish and is the world largest shipping company (I used to work in the HQ here in Copenhagen). Granted, you're sending by air but as long as the batteries are not separate but included in the product packaging, and it's less than 100Wh total capacity it's not a problem (I've designed batteries for my own company's products we get produced in Shenzhen and get shipped to Europe).

    I buy things from China quite often. I had a 3kg box that was sent from Shenzhen via DHL, and within 3 days it was in the UK and on my doorstep and it only cost like 270rmb. I wonder how certain places can offer shipping for much better value than what you were offered here. I also had something I ordered on the 28th of March, arrive by the 5th of April in the UK, and that was sent by China Post Registered. I only spent 18 quid and that included what I was actually buying. There definitely seems to be some good options for international shipping from China at least. I guess it's just a mix of knowing where to look, and knowing who to know.

      But that's Chinese businesses shipping, they get preferential rates, often with government subsidies on top. Always choose China post for UK as you tend to avoid import duty.
      DHL won't release your parcel until you pay duty and charge an extra £16 fee of their own .

      Because the stuff you buy from china, more often than not they are sent by a company that is contracted with the specific courier (they also get better rates, so while you paid 270rmb for it, they probably paid more like 150rmb. 120rmb profit they made on "shipping costs") Consumers sending from, or to China don't get any discounts. Additionally, batteries counts as dangerous goods to ship, so if somebody checks the content they will immediately "dispose" of the parcel because it isn't labeled correctly. Also, always attach receipt to the package, to show the value of the goods. This way if customs decide to tax it, they have the necessary paperwork to make that determination. Otherwise they will hold the package, and if there is no contact information available, the package will be "lost".

    I am currently teaching in Jiangxi Province and just mailed out a couple letters to home back in the USA for the first time, I had to pay 190 yuan! For letters!! So I am almost afraid as to how much a package would cost....I also live in a more rural town and am the first person to ever mail anything outside of the country at this particular mailing place, they had to call 2 people to try to figure out how to do it lol here's hoping they make it!

      The supply and demand, there are many demands out there in Shenzhen and competition is big, therefore cost cheaper for you. Jiangxi as a inner province of China, it is better to find out someone who lives in big cities like Shanghai Guangzhou Shenzhen to help you send out there. you can use the domestic package first which is very cheap too.

      It is funny, because all that can happen to your package in european handling is e.g., that it gets dropped unintentionally. That is, what your company has to consider in their packaging, but not such a treatment...and that for nearly the same price. That is aweful and I wish, decent countries, if the relations to china get worse due to racism and closing its borders, we completely cancel business with them and dont allow their products anymore...less copycat products, less issues...sure you have to pay more but as it seems, some products from china are already same price + less quality + no guarantees that are handled very well... with such an attitude, this would crumble sooner or later. Experts dont have their opinions about japan and korea is far superior in all they do from thin air. It is a huge. junkyard with opportunity and the opportunity is, what makes people being attracted to it. Not much else, if this western influence wouldnt exist. Even phobes are just using, what others developed. A oneplus phone was essentially just using the same components as a galaxy s6 e.g.
      I am writing from one...but tbh: It is bad to see that. At least the quality isnt typically chinese...but islt is essentially them going to the factories and under the hand get parts, tzat were designed by other to put in their phone.

      This is because E-commerce is too popular in China. In my former Chinese university, The courier company had to deal with 2000-3000 packages a day. There are probably more than 25,000 students in the school. There are always some courier who think they work too much pressure, the income is too low, so take this video to put pressure on their employers. I can tell you this is not common. There are different express companies due to different prices, services will also have a difference. If you want to mail mobile phone, it is best to choose expensive one.

    I recently sent my old iphone6+ to my sister in UK from China using DHL.
    They charged me 400 rmb !!!!!! and despite promises/assurances/guarantees of 5 days delivery, AND providing me with a tracking # which was pure fiction, the phone took 11 days to arrive.
    BUT now my sister has had a letter from DLH (followed by several increasingly hostile phone calls) demanding £75 IMPORT DUTY !!!!!!!
    Has anybody else had similar issues with UK customs?

      UK is famous for its absurd rate importy duty and tax, and DHL is infamous for always declare the FULL value of anything (new or not), while courier like EMS , etc. (handled by ParcelForce) usually help you smooth the process by declare something lower.

    • @pvisit
      @pvisit Před 6 lety +1

      This is normal in all European countries. Customs of the country will randomly pick up packages and check whether they are 'legally' imported (= tax payed). If they think that tax is not payed, you pay the tax. These checks are random is most cases (They can't check all packages :) ). I know that, in case of DHL in my country, all the packages are checked above a certain value. If tax has to be payed, DHL will do that for you. That's why DHL is asking you for that money. Usually they do not deliver the package before tax is payed.
