  • China resulted in yet another win for Max Verstappen and Red Bull - their fourth this year from five races - but many were the other talking-points. Aston's Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz had their moments - as did Carlos and his Ferrari team-mate, Charles Leclerc. And what about Lewis finishing second in the Sprint race but then qualifying near the back for the GP proper? Can McLaren win a race soon? And what can we expect in Miami, at the next round of the championship? Join us as we talk through these issues - and more - as we connect the dots between F1's past, present and future. Access us via CZcams live chat - or watch the completed video at your leisure.

Mercedes had a much bigger gap to their opposition for at LEAST three years (2014-16) when they would lap almost the entire field. Those were walkaway championships with ZERO other teams even close.

To claim that Lewis never had a car as dominant as Max is factually incorrect. If you rank all of the fastest cars of the last decade, by their gap to the second quickest, the RB19 ranks 7th, fucking 7th. Lewis had tight fights with Nico no doubt, but he never produced the metronomic performances that Max has. To say driver challenges, other teams winning etc doesn't prove Lewis had a harder time. What it proves is....and Peter will find this hard to swallow, Lewis just isn't as consistent as he is made out to be. He is an exceptional talent, but what Max is doing is Schumacheresque. Lewis achieving less with better machinery proves Max' talent, not Lewis' disadvantage. Look at 2020, the Merc was in a league of it's own and Max finished 9 points behind Bottas with 5x the dnfs. Remember as Peter and LEWIS said, Bottas pushed Lewis. That statement and that season go against this Lewis = GOATIEST GOT ideology.

I agree with your argument, Hamilton is brilliant when in the fastest car but he has never put in the consistent performances Verstappen does. However I would not compare Verstappen to Schumacher, Michael Schumacher was a cheat.

      @cxt5278 Před měsícem +13

Yeah I was suprised when Peter talked about max having more dominant cars lol. All I could think about were w10 nd W11 which were a class of the field. I also thinks Max is pushing the rb20 to it's limit. I just watched a vid comparison between Lewis's 21 Jeddah pole lap vs Max's Jeddah 24 pole. Even though Max broke the track record, I reckon Lewis could've gone faster. Max was so close to the wall in Rb20 and Lewis left some margin in W12.

The RB19's race pace was far more dominant than its qualifying pace. Max would often finish 20s ahead of the pack with the car turned down And Checo being a poor qualifier would also affect the RB19's qualifying data compared to the next quickest car.

Peter knows a lot more than you and the Lewis haters that liked you silly uneducated post when it comes to F1. Lewis had much better team mates than Sergio Perez, not to mention more reliability problems, poor strategies, outside competition from Ferrari in 17 and 18 and also Ferrari using illegal engines in 19 until Austin which cost a lot of wins and poles. I suspect you already know that though don't you but seem obsessed with discrediting Lewis and boosting your hero Max who hasn't had any competition since Massi gave him a Championship in 2021. I enjoy listening to Peter put casuals like yourself in your place like he did with NippyMoto. 😄

Adrian is contracted to 2025 and with his gardening clause his hands are kinda tied and no team will want to front the huge legal fees to allow Adrian to leave or become some kind of free lance to the highest bidder. Not to mention his 65yrs

I have to watch now, if AD'21 comes to discussion I hope the first lap will be discussed as well. When Hamilton was leaving the track and gaining an advantage, but did not had to give his position back to Verstappen. Only decreasing the cap was enough, strange and incorrect decision, huge impact. In 2022 same situation with Sainz, also first lap and same corner. In lap 4 he had to give his position back to Sainz. That was following the rules.

It would be there for Drivers who have already done F2 but either aren’t ready for F1 or if a team doesn’t have room they can offer them a seat in that series rather than F1.

Now the whole top 10 is withing a second and the RB is fast but only dominant in Max hands, just as Schumachers Ferrari only in his hands. They also state (with facts) that Mercedes was more dominant then RB. No crying about Abu Dhabi 2021 this time? did you get over it or will you save it for next week? The bottom line is that Lewis should never have been pushed by a driver of the calibre of Rosberg and surely not Bottas but he was by Rosberg.
Lewis is similar to Kimi in the sense that when the car is setup and fast he is blistering fast but they Lewis lacks the consistency of Max’s output.
In 2021, the Mercedes and RB were the class of the field. Every race that Max finished that year he either won or was P2, bar Hungary when his. At was damaged by Bottas. When Lewis won Max would end P2 but that was never the case for Lewis. Austria he was beaten by Lando and Leclerc, Monaco he no showed at 7th, Imola he was saved by red flag, Baku he thought he was a magician and Russia he was in No Man’s land.
As great as Lewis is, it’s just unfortunate that his got Max in the era just after him that outdoes whatever he did during his pomp with the most dominant car in F1 history.

In a most contentious time Lewis, a British citizen came to America and during the GP, on world Television wore a shirt saying "Arrest the police who shot Breanna Taylor" 1. A Brit trying to tell America anything, you lost the war bud, they're not your Colony any more. 2. The incident in question was a nothing burger, Cops execute a search warrant, dude starts *shooting at police* who return fire and Brianna Taylor gets hit. Sad, but nothing close to the media portrayal. 3 Posting racial supremist content on his socials is just cringe. Just drive the car bud.

Your F1 knowledge is usually very impressive but you know that statement is false.
Rosberg and Bottas should never have been a challenge for Lewis to begin with. And we all know that Ferrari were very competitive 2017-2018 but Vettel was never a really a special talent or an all time great driver.
Soon it’s going to become evidently clear that Max is clearly a level above Lewis and Alonso ever was/is.
Also, regarding Lewis other interests beyond F1 only became apparent during that 8yr reign with Mercedes because his equally talented rivals like Alonso and Max we’re not really direct competition to his success because the Mercedes was so far ahead of the rest. Max gave Lewis a reality check in 2021 in a car that didn’t even win the CC.
Max is so far ahead of his generational contemporaries (Leclerc, Norris, Russell) that he is no longer even compare to them anymore rather to Lewis and Alonso. There is no driver that has been so far ahead of his rivals as Max is to his.
