    Thanks a lot for the video demonstrating the actual power and performance of this variant of the Odin.
    I just saw a Kotaku article indicating that the Odin Lite is going to be way less powerful than the base or pro and will be more for N64 and previous generations.
    Basically equating it to be similar to the Anbernic 351M.
    I hope these statements don't leave a negative impression of the Odin Lite for backers and potential future buyers.

    What would be cool is doing a comparison of the games that have difficulty on the lite compared to how they run on the pro. Then maybe even try to lower the power of the pro to see at what point you get the same result as the lite. It would be a good way to see if the difference is caused by the more powerful pro, the different kind of CPU or just the emulator itself not being good at those games.

    Considering how backed up they currently are and hold long they will take to ship, I think I will just wait for competition at this point. Hopefully we'll see more handhelds with this kind of power (or a comparable amount, at least) in a slightly smaller form factor (switch lite or smaller) in the future. How long that could take depends on how threatened other manufactures feel, I guess. They might take it easy until this starts shipping out in larger amounts, though. I bet that Anbernic will probably be slow and stupid no matter what. Personally, I'm looking towards whatever Retro Pocket has in store for us, because I think they have at least one special thing coming sooner than later.

    I love my Odin Lite. I'm glad you touched base on the "Lite" name. It really does trade blows with its "bigger brothers" the Pro and Base models. I think people see a relatively unknown CPU like the D900 and think it has to be worse than a Snapdragon (which is in the Pro and Base models). But they are actually pretty close in performance... they each have their own highlights when it comes to PS2 and GameCube emulation. I know my Odin Lite does GameCube and PS2 beautifully and I could not be happier with the performance. I actually PREFER the Lite model since it has WiFi 6 and allows me to stream from my PC and PS5 with ease. I have heard people talking about lag issues on the Odin but I have personally not noticed any and I have played games from the NES to the PS2/GamCube my whole life (I'm 35). Even beat style games give me no issue so I am not sure if some people got faulty units? But either way I cannot recommend the Odin Lite enough.

      I'm having some doubts between this Odin Lite and the RP3+. My main worry is the battery life in this device. I've read that the screen consumes quite a bit. Could you please cofirm this is true? In average, how many hours you get when playing lets say some retro games + some GC o Wii games? Thank you very much!

    • @kennethd4958
      @kennethd4958 Před 9 měsíci +1

      @@williefr If you want to play GC and PS2 with any decent performance than it’s not even a choice you have to get the Odin. And as far as battery life I’m not sure where you read that but the battery life on my Odin Lite is excellent. I can’t say anything for the Pro/Base Odin as I don’t have one but the Lite uses a newer and more efficient chip. I’ve gamed PS2 for a few hours and only been down to about 75-80 percent from 100. I’d say you’d get about 8 hours of gameplay on average from 100% battery. Even on heavier games like PS2 and GC games you’ll get amazing battery life. Of course if you keep the screen 100% brightness then it will drain more battery but there is no need to it’s a very bright and very beautiful screen. If you want to play games from the PS2 and GC and older on a handheld at the $200-300 price point there is no other better option right NOW then the Odin Lite.

      Hey my man thought I’d jump into this convo here, so I see u mentioned that you usually get for ur ps2 games on the odin lite from 100% down to 75% after multiple hours, so with my lite model I’m using ppsspp playing GOW chains of Olympus at 3x resolution, my brightness is at like 50% or lower plus I have wi-fi and Bluetooth turned off to maximize the battery of it, and have the fan on smart
      Mode and have it in high performance mode as well, and it seems like my battery goes from 100 down to 90 percent I think but never tested it, but it seems from that 100 down to 90 percent is within something like 30-40 mins or so, maybe even 25 mins. Any ideas how to trouble shoot my battery to see if there’s any issues I need to attend to? Or any info that may help. Thanks.
