I remember riding my bicycle up from Indianapolis to help with clean up. Your property is one I rode by. It left me with a heavy heart. Hope all in Kokomo are well.

It was a gust front capable of producing a tornado. And wow, I spotted a tree that was blown down around 0:57. This tornado knocked down big, strong trees and power lines.
This was absolutely amazing!! I live right on lake Erie and we get water spouts but never inland like this unless south so we are thankful bc super scary! Thanks for awesome footage !
I had just got home from work , my son texted me saying there was rotation over Erving township , I went in my backyard and caught this tornado on video as it first touched the ground.
Pretty cool to see what I assume quickly became a wedge achieve touchdown right in front of the security camera. Glad it was EF0 at touchdown instead of being overly ambitious like some monsters are.

We were sitting on our porch a 1/2 mile from the one that touched down at Markland mall and then headed E... It was so rain wrapped we didn't even realize it was a tornado till we saw the reports on facebook... No power but thank goodness for our phones
Which way is the camera facing (west?)? We were living at 350N 1150W at that time. Is that the storm that ripped the roof off Subaru plant in Lafayette? Our corner had windows missing on 3 of 4 properties due to straight line winds, even though the main funnel was 5 miles north. Over 15 years we dodged several confirmed twisters by 1 - 5 miles, but also experienced many "unreported" exciting weather events. Glad you made it through undamaged.
Was it a tornado or was it just tornadic? Did it touch the ground? What strength was it? Did it have enough energy to destroy the building when it would have hit it? The footage was educational and fantastic. This is a rare capture.

This is about 5 miles outside of the city. It dropped a couple minutes after this, went though town (I saw it, terrifying!) and destroyed some businesses and homes.
@@shadowsquirt This is a completely separate storm than the EF-3 that destroyed large portions of Kokomo. That tornado formed over 5 miles due south of this farm, and about 2 hours prior. This is from an EF-1 tornado that was actually on the ground for nearly 20 miles.
Not convinced there was technically a tornado here. Still cool video tho. Definitely a mesocyclone or rapidly rotating wall cloud / funnel cloud for sure.

The really fast rotation starting around 1:15 was a tornado.
